The fact that Day didn’t back down to his players about the game plan is the definition of insanity. Him saying he’d do it all over again- is the definition of unhinged.

Ohio St. actually threw the ball more than they ran it. Michigan intentionally took away the passing game making Ohio St. run the ball to beat them. They simply couldn’t run the ball. The problem is Ohio St. line had injuries and no depth. If Ohio St. had thrown the ball more they would have thrown more interceptions. Howard simply isn’t even as good as McCord.

I used to play offensive line and defensive tackle, I know a little about it, not coach know, but as a player I can tell you, Ryan Day isn't going to win these tough physical games until he gets the offensive line fixed. Justin Frye needs to go. Let's be honest here. Since he has been in charge of coaching the offensive line, it has gotten less physical, less tough. Frye can't coach, he can't develop can't seem to recruit. I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that is the problem, or at least a major one. What do you need to run and gain yardage? You need big boys that can block and move the defensive line, push them back. We just haven't been seeing it and it isn't getting better. Go get the big Ohio guys that play with a toughness. You do not need to go to Florida to find those guys, they are born and raised right here in Ohio. Need a better o line coach it's that simple.

As a Michigan fan I’m tempted to throw shade, but to be honest, reading the comments here by Buckeye fans, you can’t throw shade in a dark room.
I’ve coached a little (small ball D4) high school football and I predicted we’d lose 31-13, because I assumed you developed a passing game so you could…..wait for it…..pass the ball. When you tied it up to close out the 1st half with the 2-minute drill, throwing the ball, I figured you’d come out and light it up. When you came out fumbling around with an anemic run game against our Dudes on the D-line I said aloud to my wife, “Day is trying to bully us. This is bizarre; what’s he doing?” As the 3rd quarter drew to a close I knew the 4th would be ours, and it unfolded exactly as I figured it would from that point on.
We lost 8 straight to you guys, some close, others blowouts; I do know the pain you’re feeling.
You’re in a legit dilemma, though. If you ditch Day, you lose half your locker room studs and a really good recruiter with him and have a total rebuild, which would take 2-3 seasons minimum. If you keep him, it’s sad to say, you get more of the same, i.e., Michigan beat downs at home and on the road. Michigan is lodged deep in Day’s head and he’s a broken man as a result, doomed to play our game our way to prove that he can slug with us. He can’t; it’s not how he’s built and not how he’s built your program.
I sincerely love the rivalry and have tremendous respect for the saner parts of your fanbase (all fanbases have psychos, but Ohio State seems to excel in recruiting those too 😏)and love the state of Ohio in many ways not related to football.
(For example my personal values and political leanings align far more with Columbus than Ann Arbor, where the blue-haired Druid cat lady winos rule).
With all that said, I sincerely hope you guys get your “thing” figured out; the rivalry is much better when we’re both on top!
Merry Christmas!!! See you next year!!!

They knew or should have known that Ryan was using drugs or alcohol when he kept running the ball at the only 2 players on Michigan's defense worth a damn. At some point in the 1st quarter, maybe early 2nd quarter, he should have been taken to the locker room so he could give the headset and the offensive play calling responsibilities to the towel boy.

@mac27713 The defense held them to a touchdown and two long field goals, giving up 13 points. Sure, there were defensive mistakes and breakdowns, but the defense held up remarkablely well throughout the entire game, overcoming turnovers by the offense and special team mistakes.
OSU was backed up near its own goal line and threw an interception, giving Michigan a short field that eventually resulted in Michigan's only touchdown.
OSU had the ball in the red zone driving for a score, a touchdown, or a short field goal, and OSU threw an interception.
Michigan was inside of the red zone and headed for another touchdown or short field goal, and the defense stopped Michigan with an interception.
OSU only had 10 plays in the 4th quarter due to the offense being inept. The play calling and execution were terrible in the 4th quarter and throughout most of the game.
Add to that, OSU missed a short to midrange field goal when the score was 10-10 to go 13-10.
Eventually, Michigan kicks a long field goal to take the lead 13-10.
