MY BIRTHDAY MESSAGE FOR YOU - BUNGO STRAY DOGS NEXT!!! Though you most probably already checked it out so I don't think I need to convince yo u anymore. IT WAS ACTUALLY MY BIRTHDAY SO THIS VIDEO IS LIKE A GIFT TO ME FROM YOUR SIDE, I WAS OUT WITH MY FRIENDS SO I COULDN'T ATTEND THE PREMIERE (SO SORRY!!), BUT I WILL CONSIDER THE REACTION FOR BSD AS ONE OF MY PRESENTS. I SERIOUSLY LOVE YOU GUYS. ♥♥♥
Since you probably don’t watch them, in the end of episode previews, Deku always says “Go beyond, plus ultra!” at the end, but for this episode and I think the next few, he just says “I’m fine”
Deku's "faster than a speeding bullet" phrase is SO perfect. I love when MHA goes full comic book with its superheroes, and that Superman reference was elite. 🔥
The color pallette of these episodes is extremely striking and helps this set this part of the story apart and sets the tone expertly. Who knew that a lack of color could stand out just as much as the opposite?
I feel Deku's rage. Imagine successfully performing a Talk No Jutsu on a criminal who was soiled and shrouded in corrpution within the heroes higher ups and and then another ruin your work by blowing it up... All For One doesn't know the anger of a gentle spirit like Midoriya holds for him
AFO was petty for that, and thank GOODNESS Nagant didn't die from it. She is too cool, compelling, and interesting of a character to only have for a couple episode. Could you imagine if the show introduced a brand new female character with an interesting Quirk and personality, only to kill them off in a couple episodes of their introduction?
Cool to see Midoriya thinking about what makes a villain a villain and the overall problems of hero society. This problem is bigger than just All for One and Shigaraki. Also, super messed up that he’s basically alone during most of this. I get he’s the bait, but it’s weird that All Might is the only one that seems to be making sure that he’s at least eating.
To be fair, Horikoshi said he had at least a volume worth of story for Lady Nagant, but due to editorial crams and him thinking he had to finish the story faster he reduce her story to just what we had. I hope someday we get some side-story volume from her.
You can definitely feel the push to end the series. Deku suddenly unlocking all the powers at once and not even having time to learn them well felt very rushed and all the character moments getting kinda shoved to the final arc. It really felt like Horikoshi had the ending arc and individual stories more planned than the rest and didn't quite know what to do inbetween and even lacked the time to develop them and connect them. It felt more like he waned to be done with MHA all of the sudden, intentional or not.
Something pretty much everyone missed, if you remember during Endeavour training Arc, bakugo says that "it takes me time to warm up during winter and Endeavour tells bakugo that would you make that excuse when u are in the field, "if your are slow here you dont lose marks, lives are lost" and what does he says when he arrives at the end of this episode "Sorry deku im not good in this weather". This was a subtle sign that Deku surpassed Endeavour and became the #1 hero in this episode on merit and is now the strongest of em all because he didnt break his body to achieve that feat and he still has room to grow :)
Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but 6:47 is very reminiscent of when Uraraka floated her jacket in the smoke of Bakugou’s explosions back during the tournament in s2 for a sneak attack. I love that Deku picks up fighting methods from all his friends. 🥺
When I saw All Might scaring those two thugs, I was instantly reminded of Stain and how he scared all those heroes. If I remember correctly, it was decided that Stain scared the heroes due to his sheer willpower and determination shown in his face and eyes. That would mean that if this is a call back to Stain, then All Might’s determination to keep Deku alive is unthinkable.
Public Safety Commission getting surprised a hero they indoctrinated since she was a child wouldn't be happy with constantly killing people is very on brand for them. And you just can't help but feel for Nagant, because doing things like that for *so long* would mess with anyone's head.
*Despite everything she’s done, I really hope Nagant makes it out of this alive. She was used and betrayed by the Hero Public Safety Commission, and then used and betrayed again by All for One. But still, it can’t be too late for her. I don’t think so anyways.* *There’s also Chisaki, who I’m not so sure about. I do feel sorry for him basically losing everything, even his mind, but I’m more concerned about how Tartarus treats their prisoners if that’s how he looked when he got out.* *Overall though, I think we can all agree that society has to be changed, and All for One has to go down.*
so an intresting thing, Lady Nagant said that failing to save someone no matter who leaves ones conscience destroyed, deku failed to save LN, so that bit at the end as his eyes darkened, yeah, buddy isnt looking too good
Even though he's irredeemable, I hate how no one tries to think about where overhaul is coming from during his arc. Like I get that he deserves whatevers coming but that dosent mean you shouldn't try understand why they do these things, it's not like he just did what he did for fun or soley for power, his character clearly has alot of thought put into it with the references to Buddhism, the mask and fact that no one notices that most likely the reason he's a germophobe is we see a flashback of him homeless being picked up by the boss and he's absolutely filthy, also while his methods were just so so so wrong and horrible, his goal to wipe out quirks genuinely would save more than it'd harm but no one listened to him when he told people so he took matters into his own hands. Sure he has victims (mainly eri) but he himself is also a victim of society which is something even all for one can acknowledge but like 0 reactors can EVEN AFTER SEEING HIM LIKE THIS! I don't want people to forgive or feel bad for him i just want them to try think about and understand his character instead of saying "no, f*ck you" I mean no hate to you guys at all but after watching every single one of your anime reactions I was expecting to analyse him like you do with literally every other aspect of the show but no you didn't even give him a second thought I'm just a little dissapointed looking back on how woth aot (which granted has much more thought into it) you would deep love into every little thing and even the characters who you thought were heartless monsters at the time Edit afterthought: also the way he views quirks as an illness is such an interesting take on quirks that NO ONE TALKS ABOUT regarding symbolism or how quirks do actively harm your body
I already understood Overhaul's motives as he genuinely wanted to help the man (his boss/Eri's grandfather) to regain his former power in hero society. You can tell that Shigaraki broke him after robbing him of his arms and his remaining Quirk deleters, the former of which were the only way he could use his own Quirk to restore his boss back to normal. That being said, I don't feel bad for Overhaul because he went too far with his treatment of Eri, both mentally and physically.
Having a tragic past is no excuse for a villian's actions and it certainly does'nt excuse Overhaul's What he did to Eri over and over was disgustingly horrific. Also HE'S the one who put his pops into a coma just for daring to disagree with him, would he still be sorry right now if his plan had worked I don't think so. He was an arrogant apathetic and abusive man, I respect Izuku for being the bigger man but I also like he did not for a second forgive Overhal nor should he.
@@Cloud-dt6xb No one is saying that Overhaul should be forgiven. Not even the original commenter. They're just saying they wish other people understood why he did what he did.
@@Cloud-dt6xb Not really. He mainly wanted to make the yakuza as strong as they were in the past to pay back his boss, who took him in. Yeah, Overhaul did go a little crazy with his methods, especially with Eri, but he never saw himself as a god among men. I'm not saying his actions are justified though.
I love how the fight against Lady Nagant feels it's like so much more tactical and analytical then most of the other fights we see in the series more often than not it's just who can hit the other guy hard enough to knock him out making her a long ranged sniper was a nice change of pace and a smart move from a battle and story telling stand point. I don't think we've seen this level of strategic thinking from Deku since all the way back in Season 2 during the Hero Killer Stain fight not to say that we didn't see them planning since then like the way All Might defeated All For One in season 3 was absolutely brilliant then it's followed up with Yaoyorozu leading her group to victory later on. With that out of the way Fa-Jin is by far my favorite inherited Quirk in OFA using it Deku builds up kinetic energy through repeated movements to double physical strength without breaking bones it's so useful like Deku was able to create a faux 100% taking himself from 45% to 100%.
Lady Nagant is one of the character that everybody want more from her. I honestly think it's because She's more nuanced than most characters in the show. It helps too that her design is awesome and being a human sniper rifle that walk on air is pretty cool, ngl.
13:48 It’s wasn’t even just bad heroes that she killed. It was also vigilante groups that weren’t recognized by the government but were heroes to the people. They probably wanted to kill anyone they couldn’t control, or who could possibly get enough notoriety to challenge their authority. She also didn’t just kill her boss because she wanted to. I believe he was going to shoot her first when she started showing signs of unrest
This is easily a top 5 battle in the show for me. It is such a rewarding episode for long time viewers and it just gives us the true might of Izuku Midoriya on FULL DISPLAY and in ways that baffle both the audience AND the entire cast INCLUDING those that literally dwell in Deku’s head. It is FANTASTIC. And I have nothing but the highest praise for what is to come. (2 parter today to split the two episode halves. This is the 1st part up through Nagant’s backstory) We start off with one of All-Might’s GREATEST moments. Not going to even lie about it. All-Might has an armored car like Best Jeanist and it can handle gigantic large scale explosions INCREDIBLY well. (And the car even has a name. It’s called “Hercules.” Which is an AWESOME name and makes me give respect to the freaking CAR.) And he gets the message out IMMEDIATELY for the Top 3 not to help HIM, but go help Deku who he immediately recognizes as the target. He’s facing a pair of terrorists out for blood armed with thunder spears and BOMBS…that are…removable from the shoulders. And he leaps out of the car in an instant and stands them down. He physically can’t channel energy anymore, and he’s no longer the #1 hero. But NONE OF THAT changes how he approaches. These 2 are threatening his kid, and he brings the EXACT SAME AURA he’s kept for decades as the single biggest presence for villains to fear. He’s walking up to them with a suitcase and they HAVE BOMBS and THEY are the ones terrified. He swore he would do everything he could for his son, and swore to Deku’s mother he would be there to fight to the bitter end. I criticize All-Might’s teaching nearly nonstop but this man is at a 100/10 Dad energy right now. And he still has the hero presence and I’ve even defended his fear of providing info because of what has surrounded him for decades even if it was wrong not to provide information. He understands he’s done wrong but that won’t stop him from making things right. It’s who he is. He’s freaking Toshinori Yagi, and even as this skinny withered man missing body systems, that can’t remove that he is FREAKING ALL-MIGHT. KUDOS TO YOU SIR. MASTERCLASS performance. Alright now we cut back to Deku who is swinging around and through the buildings, trying to close the gap between him and Lady Nagant. This is easily some of the most impressive mobility we’ve EVER seen from Deku and I love everytime he vaults you see the sonic booms of his movements. Mach 6 for his 45% is INCREDIBLY fast and if we were viewing this from the ground we’d BLINK and he’d be gone. But to Deku? This is his normal speed that he notes is faster than he used to be. HE IS UNRECOGNIZABLY more powerful from the old days. And he’s processing danger sense warnings fast enough to punt BULLETS FROM BEHIND HIM AND COMPLETELY HAULT THEIR MOMENTUM WHEN THEY WERE RIGHT ON TOP OF HIM. Sure he gets hit, but danger sense is not as reliable at this level as he’d like, and it’s still night time in the rain with the curving bullets that can come from ANYWHERE, Lady Nagant is IN HER ELEMENT out here with Air Walk. Deku at BEST sees her silhouette as she skips around in these conditions while she sees him glowing with green lightning which is VERY easy to spot in these conditions, you can still see plane wing lights in this kind of weather from MUCH greater distances and she has the kinetic vision to actually keep track of him. With better accuracy and range from now unlimited perches which is EXACTLY what a sniper wants, she has the EXACT tools she needs despite Deku’s immense skill level. I don’t think it literally expands her quirk range and accuracy, her skill with her quirk should be identical to what she’s trained herself at. At worst she’s a touch slower from being in prison from what I can tell, about a decade. (She’s in her late 30’s.) She still has full control of trajectory which is an INSANE ability and is literally using her rifle like a booster rocket. (I don’t think it’s a RWBY reference, but that’s the EXACT kind of techniques RWBY likes to show off. I recommend it one day) Deku knows that he’s in no position to track her like this and literally has to respond to her bullets to figure out her perches. So he needs to be invisible. And out comes smokescreen. Blasting across SEVERAL city blocks. En is not happy Deku decided to go against his advice against Muscular as Lady Nagant is just at a MUCH higher level. Now if he needs to run, he COULD just go into the sewers and use this whole thing as a distraction, but Deku isn’t going to run. And to prove his hype for this, it’s time for a mid-fight stretch routine and shows off his squat capabilities. The 3rd is not impressed. But it’s not the squat routine we need to be focused on. It’s the reveal of the 3rd quirk. Fa Jin. The parallel processing required to use THIS MANY quirks at once is just an IMMENSE demand on his body and brain. And the other wielders are just stunned he’s willing to try something so advanced. From decoy blackwhips with his costume from the smoke, to figuring out her perch FROM THE SMOKE, to planning a path TO said perch, to LAUNCHING HIMSELF THROUGH A SKYSCRAPER AND GETTING THE EXACT ANGLE TO BE RIGHT ON TOP OF HER AND EVEN MANAGING TO GRAB HER WHILE BEING UPSIDE DOWN AT A MUCH FASTER PACE THAN WHAT HE NORMALLY DOES, and you have yourself a move worthy of the symbol of peace as Lady Nagant literally has a SCOPE now to increase her ability to spot you and he bypasses ALL of her defenses. Not…that it helps him from her close combat techniques which is NOT what you would assume a sniper would have. Lady Nagant takes the opportunity to shake his belief in the world that surrounds him and starts talking about her time as a hero. Well…public safety commission hero. It’s not remotely the same thing. Raised from childhood you’re given a fancy title, but we’ve seen from Hawks the title is just to make you look nice when your actual job is much less admirable. For Hawks, he’s a government spy. An equivalent FBI agent with the dirty jobs when he’s not being a pro hero. For Lady Nagant, she’s a government assassin. She’s the judge, executioner, jury, executioner, jailer and if necessary executioner. The government said it 3x because they like that part. (Name the show for kudos) And she reveals why she’s was in prison too for good measure revealing what she would do for the government. The specific kinds of people that cause national unrest in the pillars people need to believe in and she’d come in to protect people’s faith in heroes. Doesn’t matter if they even accomplished anything, just planning is enough for her involvement. There’s a reason she was hunting AFO. The government didn’t want people to know he existed and what he accomplished over 200 years. She couldn’t keep her public face going with 99% of her work being covert and a hillside of bodies left in her wake, and even while living in a beautiful skyscraper terrace apartment, with all the wealth she could want and skill with her job to satisfy her…it’s not who she wants to be. And when she stands up for what she wants…her boss tells her you can’t quit. Not as a “what would we do without you?” But as a “You try, you don’t leave this room.” Why the safety commissioner ADMITTED that to her when she’s literally ALWAYS ARMED and ALWAYS allowed to walk through your security no problem, I have no idea and it cost him. Seems he didn’t have a Batman contingency plan that was DESPERATELY needed for her if they wanted to keep running things as they had. And to top it off, this event of her killing the commissioner was so under wraps that this is THE ONLY TIME AFO does NOT know the true events and he bragged to her he knows what she did…but he ONLY says her covered up story and she even plays into it to fool him. And IT WORKED. She did it to protect herself yes, she probably doesn’t want to be hired to completely dismantle the government as much as she hates the faction she belonged to. Deku getting bombarded by all this intel is EXACTLY why the government wanted her under lock and key forever. This information was NEVER supposed to be so much as SPOKEN, much less said straight to the top brass heroes. (I’m going to split here because cutting ANYTHING out of this episode for its complex subjects is a disservice to this episode just like the Touya backstory episode.)
I find it funny that Lady Nagant is probably the ONLY character Horikoshi doesn't specify with their age. In the manga, he literally put "late 30's, that's all you get." 😂
I thought Midoriyas green lightning was just a visual cue for the audience to know when he is using his power. Not something that the characters in world can actually see.
@ no I think they can see it. Why bother showing All-Might with it at his last stand when he spends the entire show without it? Deku literally has lit up at night in certain scenes making him fully visible to other people. I would absolutely say people can see it.
This is such a good arc, I wish it were longer. Delve more into the underworld of this universe, learn more stuff about the government and maybe even fight them. Show more of the chaos Japan was thrown into after the last villain attack. Have more vigilantes rise up. Idk. This part was amazing. Maybe explore Lady Nagant's story a bit more? She's such a great character.
The music that plays when deku grabs nagant hand is called the last wielder and honestly I get teary eyes everytime at that scene, just shows the power of that score in combination with the scene.
Heres a BIG FACTS: about lady nagant, its base on a real ukraine sniper lady, Kaina's alias "Lady Nagant" name may be a reference to the Soviet (Ukrainian) sniper, Lyudmila Pavlichenko, nicknamed "Lady Death", who served in the Red Army during World War II and is accredited with 309 ,200?are confirmed headshots and did it in a week, while hiding from a mile, Pavlichenko is known to have used a sniper variant of the Mosin-Nagant, a military rifle first developed in the late 1800s still used in conflicts in the present day.
Spoilers to anyone who is not caught up on anime or manga: . . . . . . . . . . . . IS that suitcase of almight in the beginning what i think it is? O_O
Something I noticed is that Bakugo talks about the weather being bad for him as a reason for how slow he was while training with Endeavor and Endeavor does the same thing here even after calling it an excuse when Bakugo said it
This is my absolute favorite episode of MHA, the animation, the fight choreography, and Lady Nagant are all done so well. Plus we learn more about the public safety commission, which we barely had any information about before. Overall, this episode had incredible animation and Lady Nagant is such a great character, she's actually my favorite character in MHA.
I love the All Might interaction at the start when he stands his ground and they back down instantly, would you take a 50/50 chance that Superman isn't Superman anymore? Fuaarrkk no
So, another reaction channel did the math on the minimum speed Midoriya had to go to out speed Nagant’s bullet. At bare minimum, he could fly to the moon in roughly 45 seconds.😂
I love how the show itself did essentially what the Commission did, showing us only the good things in the beginning of the show, and slowly revealing the grosser truths about the superhero society as the show progresses.
In case no one else commented it, Fa Jin is a concept from martial arts that basically translates to "sudden force". A good demonstration would be something like Bruce Lee's 1-inch punch.
FUTURE SPOILER! OMG Kenny, you made me realize when you said "All Might got out of that situation" when All Might returned to the group and i remembered he had a briefcase. OMFG HE USED THAT SUIT?! IT WAS A FORESHADOWING THIS ENTIRE TIME?! HNJIUTFGRJHNSUIHRJGTUIR
I have to say for overhaul the part where he said where he’s not interested in revenge I guess even he knew that revenge is a poison which is close to a disease like a quirk the one thing he doubts. But man he Was once a villain leader, but now is a broken man
I find it weird they had her be both a hero to the public AND a secret assassin. Why not just have her as an assassin? Then if someone would see her killing a corrupt hero they could say she's a villain. Also, it is quite ironic that they didn't want corrupt heroes to stand trial and be known to the public but that's exactly what their cover story for Nagant's imprisonment was.
I'm not sure if Hawks' or Nagant's situation is worse, cause while the PSC used them both, Hawks had nowhere else to go. Meanwhile, judging by the middle school uniform, it seems like Nagant had a normal life before the PSC scooped her up and spit her out. 😔
Yeah and to be fair it did seem like they learned from the Nagant incident as they were treating Hawks pretty decently. He still had to do shady stuff but something tells me this old safety commision would've been perfectly happy with Best Jeanist actually being murdered just so Hawks can infiltrate the PLF.
The hints at the dysfunction, fragility, and hidden evil in this society are present throughout the series, from the beginning. All of this is well foreshadowed, if you know what to look for. This is a great series. Clearly planned out well from beginning to end.
In a way, I can’t blame nagant for what she did because Who she worked for ruined her dream of being a hero by making her kill and keeping it a secret from society to keep the hope but through her eyes it counts as brainwashing
That final moment where Deku says “All for one” is my favorite moment in the entire show. The symbolism of his arm outstretched to save Nagant turning into a clenched fist shows that his will to save people was being outclassed by his will to fight. Which is why his main focus becomes finding AFO from this point on. This is the first time we’ve really seen him pissed off.
They're having discussions on the assistance Nagant can give and discussing whether she's willing or physically capable and I'm just like "...she's definitely going back to prison, right?" Like yeah, the official story of what she did was fabricated....but she still murdered a guy
Ima be that guy and say it would've been cooler for him to hit the bullet instead. Deku honestly would've obliterated Chisake just by trying to save him.
2 parter today because there’s just no way to cut down ANY of the complex subjects, feats, and INSANE well…everything. I split the 2 episode halves. Up to the Lady Nagant backstory for the 1st, and the rest here. Now that the dirty underbelly of the public safety commission has been exposed, Lady Nagant can’t stop her sheer hatred and disgust of what she had to do and what she was taught, she is repulsed people have been left completely unaware while she was forced to bear the burdens simply because she had a useful quirk for covert work. She flat out would rather see AFO rule the whole dang planet because at least no one is under any illusion at just how terrible things really are. (Her hiding her true past to AFO is interesting though) Deku of course is STUNNED by this info and bullet bombardment, but the MOMENT she lets loose a straight shot and not one of her swirling trick shots, despite her voice from coming everywhere around her with mics in her bullets, he got her EXACT location and shoots a blackwhip JUST over her shoulder. To get her in the face? No. He yanks himself straight up to her so he can talk to her face to face. Denying her truths? No. How could he? He sees her viewpoint as messed up as she’s been working for AFO and accepting this world is not at all black and white but an unlimited gray scale. No one knows how to make sense of the full world with their anger, fear, anxiety, and yes just overall pessimistic approach to living. But that doesn’t mean that humanity doesn’t need its optimists that are accepting and truly kind hearted no matter how much the world spits in their face. And BOY WILL IT. It’s not at ALL an easy position to willingly put yourself in and the demand from people that realize who you are is steeper than most like us would dare admit. He knows the metaphorical and literal bullets are coming as she can’t wrap her head around he’s being real. Dodging at what is actually MUCH FASTER than Mach 6 because that might be what he’s moving at, but she’s shooting at around Mach 5 and they meet on the way INSANELY FAST and he’s STILL PROCESSING ALL OF IT. And while he’s been shot a few times he’s mainly only been GRAZED. Lady Nagant is revolted and that this optimism and acceptance is a brainwashed kid that is nothing but a fool. She’s done talking as his mindset in this world covered in problems from genuinely awful people refusing to admit their mistakes, ignorant, paranoid, and confused people that don’t want to admit their world is so small they can shove everything they don’t like or recognize out, and they understand so little of the world around them that they can use only what they’ve seen to judge like the racists last episode. And to show him that he can’t afford to be this kind of person, gives him the ultimate threat. The only thing keeping you intact is the world hasn’t broken you yet. You want to be an endlessly selfless person? Let’s see you keep yourself intact if I kill RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU BECAUSE YOU’RE TRYING TO SAVE PEOPLE. What would you do? And she pulls out her ultimate move which I’m pretty sure is a very controllable hysterical strength for her in spite of the gun jamming risk. She packs every last piece of her sniper rifle to pack as much power as she can manage to insure he can’t respond. Let’s say it’s Mach 7 maximum. Deku even recognizes it’s Overhaul she’s threatening. And that doesn’t stop what comes next as what is quite frankly Deku’s most impressive move in the show and it is ONLY surpassed recently. The bullet gets fired and she goes to shoot him when he freezes in fear. But he’s ALREADY on the move. He’s charged up Fa Jin again while he dodged her swirling bullets and spinning out in the street for SEVERAL MINUTES, has ALREADY figured out how to aim his body as he swings around the skyscraper as he LAUNCHES HIMSELF AT ALMOST IF NOT MORE THAN DOUBLE THE SPEED OF HER BULLET TO COMPLETELY INTERCEPT IT, KNOCKING OVERHAUL OUT OF THE WAY, STOPPING HIMSELF MERE FEET AFTER THE RUSH, WARNS CHISAKI HE’LL BE BACK, LAUNCHES AGAIN WITH A 2ND CHARGE WITH HIS OTHER LEG, EXPLODES RIGHT PAST HER ONLY DESTROYING HER GUN AND NOTHING ELSE LEAVING HER ALMOST ENTIRELY UNHARMED, AND CATCHES HER WHEN SHE STARTS TO FALL TO TELL HER SHE MISSED AND WOULDN’T HAVE IF SHE WAS A REAL VILLAIN. ALL ACROSS SEVERAL CITY BLOCKS. THAT IS THE FREAKING SYMBOL OF PEACE RIGHT THERE. So…that kinda begs the question. What the actual f@$& did we just watch? A new technique known as Faux 100%. Charged by the quirk Fa Jin. Fa Jin is a kinetic energy booster charged through repeat motions and is an actual martial art in our world maximizing muscle movement. The 1 inch punch is using Fa Jin. There are people that can swing their muscles so precisely they can get the same energy out of a standing long jump as a running long jump using Fa Jin. And I measure that Deku’s Faux 100 is about Mach 13.5 for this move. I found it completely with the OFA theory I’ve used across the show to measure Deku’s speeds and all I did was move what I measure his 45% at Mach 6 is now to what his 100% would be now, and some power scalers I talked with came to about Mach 12 just straight up measuring the distances and such and we were both thrilled we got so close to each other using such different methods. Some people measure Deku to be stronger and faster than All-Might now based on this. Which, um no. Not only can I not find anyway Deku could be close to All-Might speeds I’ve measured even with Deku building to that piece by piece, but let’s just make this clear story telling wise. Why on earth would the story spend 6 entire seasons building Deku to 100% control, and he unlocks the 3rd quirk here and it just CLOSES THE GAP on the whim of the 3rd wielders cooperation and that’s just boom max progression? And it gives Lady Nagant as strong as she is, WAY TOO MUCH POWER for the story to make any sort of sense if that’s true. She’s a stepping stone late game boss for Deku’s progress not a final boss that matches what Deku and AFS are going to be operating at for the ACTUAL story final boss. And it LITERALLY HAS THE WORD FAUX AT THE START OF IT. Which means two things. It means imitation, and it means FALSE. That’s why I only used what Deku’s current 100% and not what the full power of OFA is capable of and it makes BOTH definitions true by doing it that way. The line “All-Might showed up faster than a speeding bullet” is like the Superman line. And uh…faster than a speeding bullet is a GROSS understatement of both their abilities, BUT it does have Deku living up to his legend. Now that Lady Nagant has seen what Deku is willing to do for both his allies AND enemies, putting his body through EVERYTHING and offering her a 2nd chance to be WHO SHE WANTS TO BE, it’s hard for that NOT to win you over. She might have next to no faith in this world, but that is so in your face optimistic, accepting, kind hearted, and selfless that it bypasses any expectation what any person can literally be TAUGHT. That wasn’t other wielders aid, that wasn’t All-Might’s teaching or ANYONE ELSE but Izuku Midoriya on FULL DISPLAY for who he truly is. And she’s grinning ear to ear as she knows this kid is completely real. And he sees RIGHT THROUGH all her pessimism and complete defeated attitude for what remains of her dreams and optimism. She saved Overhaul out of nothing but kindness. He served her next to nothing as he’s broken and she couldn’t actually bring herself to shoot at him. Because she IS still a hero. That’s what she WANTS TO BE. She wanted to shake his faith because she wanted to save him from his brainwashing. But…someone else knew that too. AFO might not have an actual clue to Lady Nagant’s actual fall from grace, but he knew she still had some heart remaining BECAUSE of Overhaul. And he knew if she turned, he wanted to insure he could drag her down to nothing, and Deku RIGHT DOWN with her because he would try. And that’s EXACTLY what he did. Air Walk had a trap 3rd quirk. Easy on the brain with her training so her mind doesn’t break like Nomu and the broken people he made before, but it gave her a terrible case of explosions. (No it’s not contagious.) And RIGHT when she got what remained of her optimism back, she was punished for having ANY. And she fell once again. Used, defeated, destroyed. And it’s all Hawks and Deku can do to instill her with enough hope for her to give the intel she has. So that she can die as she wanted to live. A hero. And because this is MHA, SHE’S STILL ALIVE AND THATS SOMEHOW WORSE to endure all these injuries and LIVE WITH THEM. But she has her heart intact. Deku on the other hand….is breaking. His eyes looked full of light to her, but with each passing second he’s losing light. Even with a near perfect victory today, he’s faced with the broken Overhaul. Who he is disgusted in seeing as his remorse is only to the boss who he brought to complete ruin. And shows NO THOUGHT of Eri who he used as a tool and resource to farm from. So he asks him to show what true remorse is, and he’ll let him see the boss as the absolute MOST he can give him. And it gets worse as he is just swarming with anger at AFO who did this FOR NEXT TO NO REASON. Theres nothing entirely black and white but two exceptions. Deku is the closest thing to white, and AFO is the closest thing to black on this scale of light and darkness, and arguably they ARE just the embodiments with no caveats. But Deku is shaking. In the preview he doesn’t even say Plus Ultra. He says I’m fine. Really. And I’ll finally explain what exactly his eyes losing light ACTUALLY is next episode.
20:12 well funny, I remember you reprimanded Bakugou cause he said he wasn't as good in the winter, is that what you're gonna say when you fail to save someone Endeavor?
Great episode, but I really don't fancy how they butchered the FaJin pronunciation, it is Chinese word and sounds awesome, but instead the way dub says it it sounds like broken French or Portuguese. It wouldn't bother me if they just messed up the accent but they completely changed the sound.

I didn't know, I need to go back and check it 😮
It's true. I looked back and I never noticed that
I remember that! He was in fact, not fine…
I forgot about that 😢
THAT'S how depressed he is-💔
Deku's "faster than a speeding bullet" phrase is SO perfect. I love when MHA goes full comic book with its superheroes, and that Superman reference was elite. 🔥
Deku really said " LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND, NOT EVEN THE CHILD ABUSER"
Also the way he stepped up for Eri ❤
The color pallette of these episodes is extremely striking and helps this set this part of the story apart and sets the tone expertly. Who knew that a lack of color could stand out just as much as the opposite?
I feel Deku's rage. Imagine successfully performing a Talk No Jutsu on a criminal who was soiled and shrouded in corrpution within the heroes higher ups and and then another ruin your work by blowing it up... All For One doesn't know the anger of a gentle spirit like Midoriya holds for him
Demons run when a good man goes to war.
@@eddiewalter6003aaaahhhh I love this comment! I love DW!
@@HaydrogenBomb Gege: *eyes shift guiltily*
@LordHaragnok Whatever that is, not what I was referring to.
MHA on its own is really raelly good. But i would love some OVA's/Spin off series on some characters from back in the early hero days.
@@Ssecave Ever heard of MHA Vigilantes? I have not read it myself but it’s supposed to be really good. And it’s Horikoshi uproved!
To be fair what we did get was pretty meaty all on it's own and anyone who's seen season 7 knows that's not the end of her story.
@@vargajanke4289 its getting an anime too
Something pretty much everyone missed, if you remember during Endeavour training Arc, bakugo says that "it takes me time to warm up during winter and Endeavour tells bakugo that would you make that excuse when u are in the field, "if your are slow here you dont lose marks, lives are lost" and what does he says when he arrives at the end of this episode "Sorry deku im not good in this weather".
Ohhhh, that's a neat parallel I hadn't thought of.
Public Safety Commission getting surprised a hero they indoctrinated since she was a child wouldn't be happy with constantly killing people is very on brand for them. And you just can't help but feel for Nagant, because doing things like that for *so long* would mess with anyone's head.
Only someone extremely apathetic and manipulative could cope with that.
The hidden truth about hero society, like they say: what happenes in darkness must stay in darkness.
She was gone almost as quickly as she came, but she sure made an impression! Give it up for the Lovely Lady Nagant! Hope to see her again soon!
Manga readers be like 😶
@@TheTurtle.sarcasm
Course you would be a fan of the purple-haired baddie 💜😅
*Despite everything she’s done, I really hope Nagant makes it out of this alive. She was used and betrayed by the Hero Public Safety Commission, and then used and betrayed again by All for One. But still, it can’t be too late for her. I don’t think so anyways.*
*There’s also Chisaki, who I’m not so sure about. I do feel sorry for him basically losing everything, even his mind, but I’m more concerned about how Tartarus treats their prisoners if that’s how he looked when he got out.*
*Overall though, I think we can all agree that society has to be changed, and All for One has to go down.*
so an intresting thing, Lady Nagant said that failing to save someone no matter who leaves ones conscience destroyed, deku failed to save LN, so that bit at the end as his eyes darkened, yeah, buddy isnt looking too good
Lets go, we finally get to see your reaction to fa jin, faux 100% and justin briners performance
I don't want people to forgive or feel bad for him i just want them to try think about and understand his character instead of saying "no, f*ck you" I mean no hate to you guys at all but after watching every single one of your anime reactions I was expecting to analyse him like you do with literally every other aspect of the show but no you didn't even give him a second thought I'm just a little dissapointed looking back on how woth aot (which granted has much more thought into it) you would deep love into every little thing and even the characters who you thought were heartless monsters at the time
Edit afterthought: also the way he views quirks as an illness is such an interesting take on quirks that NO ONE TALKS ABOUT regarding symbolism or how quirks do actively harm your body
@@darkstorm2579 Because he was a power hungry psycho who thought he was some god among men. Even the flashbacks make it clear how arrogant he was.
You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
2:37, I think that one should be replaced with a “villain still fear the symbol of peace” cause those guys terrified of him pretty quick
Horikoshi has stated that he had more chapters planned for her, and might do a short story with her later.
An excellent sniper Who can walk on air...
Extremely deadly combo.
I get goosebumps every time I see this episode its so good I love the animation
This is easily a top 5 battle in the show for me. It is such a rewarding episode for long time viewers and it just gives us the true might of Izuku Midoriya on FULL DISPLAY and in ways that baffle both the audience AND the entire cast INCLUDING those that literally dwell in Deku’s head. It is FANTASTIC. And I have nothing but the highest praise for what is to come. (2 parter today to split the two episode halves. This is the 1st part up through Nagant’s backstory)
We start off with one of All-Might’s GREATEST moments.
I recommend it one day)
Deku knows that he’s in no position to track her like this and literally has to respond to her bullets to figure out her perches.
@@Kaempfdog yeah you might be right.
I love how creepy the score is when lady nagant is explaining her past as an assassin
He'll never stop being All Might!🥲

Fuaarrkk no
Ngl the inner monologues always take me out
So, another reaction channel did the math on the minimum speed Midoriya had to go to out speed Nagant’s bullet. At bare minimum, he could fly to the moon in roughly 45 seconds.😂
She understood the explanation of that power better than I did before even hearing it 😂 I actually understand it better after hearing her version 🤣
I love how the show itself did essentially what the Commission did, showing us only the good things in the beginning of the show, and slowly revealing the grosser truths about the superhero society as the show progresses.
9:01 You know what there's a MHA Vigilante manga.. I heard it was getting a anime (it's in early stages) 8 months ago.
Even without power villain's and criminals still fear ALL MIGHT!
21:07 GODDAMN Zeno Robinson is a TALENTED voice actor
In case no one else commented it, Fa Jin is a concept from martial arts that basically translates to "sudden force". A good demonstration would be something like Bruce Lee's 1-inch punch.
All might once again remind us why he was the symbol of peace and the number one hero, even though he is weaker and quirkless now he still got it!👊🔥
FUTURE SPOILER!
NOT THE “Neeeeow” STOOOOP😭😭💀💀
I really love how this series handles the topic of disillusionment in general like with Lady Nagant for example
I have to say for overhaul the part where he said where he’s not interested in revenge I guess even he knew that revenge is a poison which is close to a disease like a quirk the one thing he doubts.
But man he Was once a villain leader, but now is a broken man
I agree with you here l fell şad for him here have nice day❤
And to think Season 7 has quality animation all across despite the higher density of action scenes. I can't wait for S7.
It's been a bit since I rewatched the Lady Nagant mini arc. Man i had forgotten how good it was. I wish we got more of her!
23:34 This was GOLD!!! 😂😂😂
Major theme is dark deku arc:- After his fight with shigaraki, deku lost his smile completely😢
In a way, I can’t blame nagant for what she did because Who she worked for ruined her dream of being a hero by making her kill and keeping it a secret from society to keep the hope but through her eyes it counts as brainwashing
Deku's aura in this arc is unmatched
Deku Final Battle goes harder
The Nagant theme is so good for how nuanced her character is.
The balance of Dekus will to fight vs his will to save is something he had mentioned in the past too during his fight with Bakugo.
Next Episode: “Now it’s your turn.” Two sides of the same coin.
Can we just be at next Sunday already? That’s the episode I’ve been waiting for since the very beginning!!!
I love this episode sm omg. It's peak animation
Kenny where did you get your shirt! It's so cool!!!
23:50 i thought this was funny since, according to horikoshi, hawks grew his facial hair to hide his baby face since he works with adults a lot
Day 8 of telling Letts React that I love their content! 🔥
They're having discussions on the assistance Nagant can give and discussing whether she's willing or physically capable and I'm just like "...she's definitely going back to prison, right?"
Like yeah, the official story of what she did was fabricated....but she still murdered a guy
Also, Kenny I love your shirt man - looks so damn cool!
14:54 Sir would be proud
Deku taking Nagant bloody arm that triggered her much. Not hidding the darkness by learning from it to not repeat mistakes
15:30
You didn't have to do Deku like that, come on man
😭
people forget how evil All for one is, the dude knows how to use people and kill people and grow chaos
FA JIN TIMEEE! It was fake %100 power but still wonderful :D
I've been waiting for this one
When you finish up Hazbin hotel Can you please go watch Young Justice, I want to see more after the first episode at least please
WE ARE GETTING THERE GUYS
Breh he had that suit case just in case already....
Ima be that guy and say it would've been cooler for him to hit the bullet instead. Deku honestly would've obliterated Chisake just by trying to save him.
True
i thought her hair being shaved was something they did in prison
I can understand why Deku is pissed off
Oh did you guys watch the new my hero movie “you’re next” it’s so good!
(Her hiding her true past to AFO is interesting though)
Deku of course is STUNNED by this info and bullet bombardment, but the MOMENT she lets loose a straight shot and not one of her swirling trick shots, despite her voice from coming everywhere around her with mics in her bullets, he got her EXACT location and shoots a blackwhip JUST over her shoulder.
Oh she helps! Spoiler avoid counter: 1
Lady Nagant is a baddie who can’t be messed with bro.
Can yall upload the nxt episode ASAP 🔥🔥🤯😭😭😭
Great episode, but I really don't fancy how they butchered the FaJin pronunciation, it is Chinese word and sounds awesome, but instead the way dub says it it sounds like broken French or Portuguese. It wouldn't bother me if they just messed up the accent but they completely changed the sound.
