Thanks you so much, Alessandra. I am going to record your "Abstract Landscapes" and "Empty Landscape" next. Such beautiful compositions, as is all of your work. Emilie and Khwan send you a BIG hug to you!
AspKing -- thank you, really appreciate it. The sheet music I used to learn this Nocturne is this edition: s9.imslp.org/files/imglnks/usimg/4/47/IMSLP585414-PMLP722055-Chopin_notturni_casella_Jacopo_Tore.pdf -- this edition is very clear to read becuase it's spread across 7 pages. However, 7 pages together are hard to place on the piano. I found this edition linked to in the info. compressed to 4 pages, so it's convenient to read from on the piano -- but there are some textural differences between these editions, such as in tied notes etc. As I practiced from the Casella edition this is what I played in the recording, not the 4 page edition. These differences are minor but it's worth taking some time to look and see which you personally prefer. Take care!
@@PaulBartonPiano thanks for explaining the differences of both scores, i never thought there would be that much of a difference besides the size of the notes ill learn this nocturne some other day ig, im currently learning liebestraum no 3 and watching your cadenza tutorial
Thank you for beautiful interpretation Paul, hope to see some tutorial/lesson about this piece on your channel as well because I'm working on it right now... ❤
I loved the voicing of the left hand chords during the middle section. I had often just left the top notes out since my hands are so small. You make a compelling case to keep them in!
Extraordinary. The doppio movimento is played with passion and restraint, which make it sound poignant and musical, not just agitated like in most recordings I hear. I'm curious about your pedalling technique, how do you obtain this beautiful and reverberant sound, like for example in the interrupted cadence at the end of the piece?
This Nocturne goes straight to the heart. You play it beautifully. With balance and passion at the same time. Thanks Paul.

Wonderful, Paul. You know, I had a girlfriend long ago who looked at a Chopin album I had and exclaimed, "CHOP'-in!". I'm afraid I dumped her🙄
A pure beauty! 😍😍
