This Nocturne goes straight to the heart. You play it beautifully. With balance and passion at the same time. Thanks Paul.

AspKing -- thank you, really appreciate it. The sheet music I used to learn this Nocturne is this edition: s9.imslp.org/files/imglnks/usimg/4/47/IMSLP585414-PMLP722055-Chopin_notturni_casella_Jacopo_Tore.pdf -- this edition is very clear to read becuase it's spread across 7 pages. However, 7 pages together are hard to place on the piano. I found this edition linked to in the info. compressed to 4 pages, so it's convenient to read from on the piano -- but there are some textural differences between these editions, such as in tied notes etc. As I practiced from the Casella edition this is what I played in the recording, not the 4 page edition. These differences are minor but it's worth taking some time to look and see which you personally prefer. Take care!

I loved the voicing of the left hand chords during the middle section. I had often just left the top notes out since my hands are so small. You make a compelling case to keep them in!

Extraordinary. The doppio movimento is played with passion and restraint, which make it sound poignant and musical, not just agitated like in most recordings I hear.
I'm curious about your pedalling technique, how do you obtain this beautiful and reverberant sound, like for example in the interrupted cadence at the end of the piece?
