Great job, thank you for sharing! And I agree that it runs well. But the gears or bearings sound a little dry, a few well-placed drops of oil might quiet it down.
It's just like restoring a classic automobile to it's former glory, That five months was well worth it, though i model in 'HO' you have my upmost respect. Nice custom job you did on it, That locomotive is truly one of a kind.
I'm just about to finish up a prewar 572, a 4-8-4, been piecing it together for about 2 years, as you stated, good luck finding parts, nice job on your engine.
Hi! 👋I've been working on the same loco for a good amount of time now and the only part that I have missing is the side rods/linkage. Do you mind sending me links to the websites that you got these parts. Thank you so much. 😃
Because, that is what the good people at American Flyer called it. They used the name Hudson in all their advertisements. Some model railroaders will take a second set of the front wheels and install them backwards behind the pilot wheels to get the correct 4 6 4 configuration of a real life Hudson to correct the American Flyer "mistake". I did enough work to get it back to life and made the decision to leave it like the AF people made it.

Dave, you have made another masterpiece in restoration !! You are a magician indeed !!

These restorations are much more interesting to watch than the general look at what I bought videos, thanks for sharing
Mighty fine work you’ve done there. Thanks for bringing back a piece of history. (Or in this case, *many* pieces of various histories!) 😉

Amazing restoration Dave, great talent combined with dedication.
Great job. Chicago Flyer made some really nice things. Their larger locomotives are extremely nicely done, in many ways nicer than Lionel.
Really handsome. Have fun after all the work is done.
Fantastic what a great job beautiful thank you for sharing
You did an amazing job!
Great stuff.....Beautiful piece
The flag holders remind me of a nut I took out of a piece of antique equipment a long time ago.
Awesome job!
Hello. Klasse video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍Thanks..... Fim 🚂👮♂️✋
Great seeing your work. It’s inspiring!
Portline Hobbies sells some parts. Some parts I pulled off a donor. Other parts I made.
Excellent!

Fantastic job you did. What lionel part did you use for the flag holders? I've been working on a 3322 that could use a set
It is a nice locomotive, but I'm confused. You said this was a Hudson. Hudsons are 4-6-4s, not a 2-6-4s? So you're still calling this a Hudson?
