  • Hey all!
    Well, I did it; I made a rookie mistake. We have been full-timers for a little over 4 years, and I cannot believe the mistake I made.
    I left the gray tank closed, and it started leaking out the bottom of the rig.

    Never leave your tank valves open. Why?
    1. Sewer gas can enter the coach and kill you..
    2. The black tank will form a pyramid of waste that cannot be flushed out.
    Let your tank get full, then pull the valve open so it drains with a big swoosh. Continue flushing until water draining is clear. With luck, your tank sensors will continue working, instead of collecting crud that shorts then out.
    I learned this in 23 years of RVing.
