  • A course playthrough and review of Hightown Links Tour. This is a PGA Tour 2k23 course that was submitted to TGC Tours and not approved, so we're looking to give some helpful feedback to the designer.

As a prolific player but non designer I'd like to take the opportunity to say thanks so much to all you designers for all the hard work you put in. I've had countless hours of enjoyment on this game thanks to you all. Keep up the good work 👍👍

Just found your youtube and love the breakdown it took me awhile to learn designer tools its got some potential the course, agree needs little more sculpting with fussy brush. Sightlines are key i got told don't hide your work. I actually think you wou,d make a terrific course reviewer as you explain really well issues. Think most designers have a weakness mine are bunkers still, i use Eric's method it has helped. My big peeve with this gen is our plant meter been chopped again I've tried importing 2 courses which hit 105 % which means aggressive chopping i saw import of flamingo its sad how much had to be removed. I don't get why pcs, consoles more powerful, so why each gen meter gets reduced.
Finally published my Egorlian Park GC which took 300 hours. Just waiting for approval, even though more knowledgeable in designing it would be great to see what another designer thinks. Its fictional spanish town which is medieval has a wall which took ages. The clubhouse has gardens, pool and xmas tree as got released xmas. Course itself has decisions but generally its not hard if hit right locations. Some par 4 that if your brave are drivable.

It's a links course, so "some" bunkers may be hidden. If you hide the bunker, you need to show a high lip, to give the player a visual that something is there.

Good review. I agree with you, the bunkers got this course not approved. It's one thing to have a couple bunkers hidden on a course but you just can't hide almost all of them. I'm guessing since they asked why it wasn't approved that this is a new designer, but the potential is there to be a good designer. Bunkers are just the worst thing to get right, it's not easy.

@@DRSOHOUSEMUSIC really? I decide to rewatch him do the first two holes... Hidden bunkers on the first two holes off the tee. By hidden I mean the golfer cannot see them without using the "scout cam", not zooming forward to see the shots landing zone... TGC doesn't like "hidden" hazards

@@DRSOHOUSEMUSIC well you were on the TGC forum asking why it wasn't approved so obviously you did care whether or not it was approved, the video here showed you why it wasn't approved... Sorry I didn't know that I was talking to a great design master like yourself... Keep up the great work and good day
