Aaahaaa! My secret is being retired and able to fly whenever the weather is good. Also, being the sole owner and not having to book the aircraft helps. 😀
Always found some turbulence off the up wind end of 26 in Westerlies due to the terrain just across the Shaftesbury road. I don't think there are many GA airfields these days that aren't PPR, correct me if I'm wrong. The last time I was there Sandown was a very friendly place.
You’re right, very few don’t require PPR. And yes, Sandown is very friendly although I have heard that some people aren’t keen on Sid (the owner). I think he’s a breath of fresh air, we need more field owners like him.
