Yo, just to warn you, The CGs that people want you to react to are moments shown in the game during story mode. Many regret watching these outside of the story instead of experiencing them 1st hand, because they thought their lack of understanding would make it ok. Their mistake was assuming that the animations were just a nice with spoilers as these gameplay trailers when its actually FAR MORE sppilerly. However, if you are perfectly ok with watching them anyway, that risk is yours to take.
fun fact: despite how deadly herrscher of sentience attacks looks she is actually labeled as "physical support" by hoyoverse but in reality she is a hybrid unit meaning she can act as a support and a dps at the same time

@@matmatpik_96 she can but that’s only if you have no good dps. And there’s a lot of decent dps to get and choose from. Overall, dps HoS shouldn’t be the first pick option if you have a dps already. Every physical comp needs her (as support)
(slight spoiler warning) When people hear the name Kevin. Most laugh But to the honkai community, It's the name of a man so powerful, he might just be the most powerful character in the game's story.

Here’s a list of me ranking characters from the strongest to the weakest based on my speculation (obvious spoilers): *long comment ahead* 1-Herrscher of the End(Strongest Herrscher): she can be considered as the Honkai God, an almost omnipotent being, she was the one who destroyed the rest of the previous era after the last survivors of the planet went into cryopods. 2-Kevin Kaslana(strongest MANTIS): he’s the only one who can unleash the full power of Shamash (Might of An-Utu) without dying or being injured (Siegfried as well but he had to activate his genes in order to do it, he also got saved by his amazing wife Cecilia). Kevin was also the only one who could damage and stun the Final Herrscher, of course he couldn’t kill her but he managed to delay her so everyone could make it to the next era. 3-every other MANTIS (the MANTISes are some of the strongest characters, however since we still haven’t seen full potential yet “at least not all of them”, this list is mostly just talking about their current powers): -Elysia: she’s the 2nd Flamechaser for a reason. Its has also been regarded many times that she is almost as strong as Kevin. -Aponia: she’s the strongest psychic MANTIS, she can make others do something they don’t want to do by just saying “please”, however this trick doesn’t work on Kevin and Elysia (and maybe Eden?) -Kalpas/Sakura: they both seem to be very close in terms of power. Especially considering their fight with each other turned out to be a draw (however that was before Kalpas had the MANTIS surgery, so I guess that makes him a bit stronger than Sakura?) -Su/Mobius: I didn’t know where to put those two but I wanted to put them close to each other mainly because of the “first institute incident”. That incident featured Mobius giving in to the Honkai beast infused within her which made her turn into a serpentine-like entity that attacks anyone on sight. Su was there and he wanted to turn her back to being human so they fought. Their fight was on a stalemate but then Hua came in from the sound of the alarms and her interference resulted in accidentally breaking the stalemate. Su then activated his Honkai form which looked like a peacock on Mobius which severely weakened Mobius but also made him unconscious, Sakura then came to deal the final blow that made Mobius turn back to normal. So I guess that makes both Mobius and Su close to each other in terms of power? Eden: she hasn’t shown much of her fighting yet, however there is a scene in chapter 29 where she goes to Aponia without being affected by her psychic attacks for some reason. -Hua: Fu Hua has been consistently nerfed in the story but the strongest thing she’s done is “Eminence” it’s a move that has no physical form and it cannot be defended against (it’s the same exact move she did on Sirin in 2nd Eruption that broke the link between Sirin and the WoH) -Kosma: his strength depends on how many honkai beasts he’s eaten (cause he has the genes of Vishnu), one thing that’s impressive tho is that he potentially can be almost as strong as Kevin. -Vill-V: we still don’t know much about her. She also might be the most mysterious flamechaser due to her 8 different personalities. And the most interesting personality I find is the “Kevin Killer mk5”. -Griseo: a child who got turned into a MANTIS just to save her life. She has also been speculated to be the one who’s on Project Ark. -Pardofelis: has been regarded as the weakest flamechaser, in fact. She survived the tragedy of Binding just cause she got lucky. She hasn’t shown any fighting capabilities. 4-Herrscher of Sentience/Sirin(with 6 Herrscher cores): these children have shown that they’re the strongest Herrschers of the current era so far. 5-Herrscher of Flamescion: Kiana after her learning “Imaginary Renormalization” (the move she did on the last fight with Otto in chapter 28) might be the reason as to why the current era wins against the Honkai and the last Herrscher (which might also be the reason why Kiana isn’t seen in APHO 😞) 6-Herrscher of Thunder: Mei has been training on the Elysian Realm for quite some time now and it has been said that everyone who comes to the Elysian Realm become stronger when they leave. 7-Durandal(the strongest Valkyrie): after her upgrade in chapter 28 I feel like she’s the second strongest non-Herrscher character alive after Kevin. 8-Herrscher of Reason (Joyce/Joachim/Bronya): Bronya showed why she’s the strongest of the 3 in chapter 28. 9-Theresa: she’s mostly likely gonna become a Herrscher in the future. But the question is which Herrscher? Binding or Corruption? Or maybe a novelty-class like Flamescion and Rimestar? (Pls Mihoyo, give the world’s number 1 cutie more plot in the future cuz you guys have been ignoring her) 10-Seele: she’s most likely gonna become the Herrscher of Death in the future but for now she sits lower than everyone. The rest such as Rita, Raven, Sushang, Roza, Lili, etc, sit much lower than everyone else.
With the release of Pardofelis, we got a new weapon, Chakrams. Not even two weeks after Felis's release, we hear that another character is being developed who uses chakrams, Aponia.

A Post Honkai Odyssey is a game mode. (Literally Devil May Cry) It's kinda open-worldish at least for Honkai standards. It takes place a couple years after the main story of Honkai. But it's playable even if you didn't finish the main story (which isn't even done), since they do a good job of hiding the events that happend in the past. So it's a cool self-contained story. Also if you'll have any questions on stuff, feel free to ask, I'm sure there are other besides me that are level 88 (max level), who will gladly explain stuff to you without spoiling other stuff.
I know people are going to suggest you watch the animated shorts because they are awesome, but I highly recommend you don't. These animations are actually in game cutscenes so you'll end up massively spoiling yourself. It's clear that you're already very willing to play the game without seeing them, which means that you should play the game blind and experience the animations in the story. It'll be a much better experience.
Agreed. It's far better to watch them with their context in-game, rather than in isolation. So I will also recommend skipping watching the bulk of them on RUclips. You can watch the non-canon ones (Reburn, Bronya, Winter Memories), but the rest are integrated into the game. Also recommend the Honkai Chronicles 'Mobile Operation Centre.' It'll give you that much-needed background. All other 'Honkai Chronicles' are about specific characters, and contain spoilers, but also background information contained in their tie-in manga. If you want to watch those, you may want to wait until after you've played through their character arcs in the game. Recommend you play through the 'Chronicles' story mode as soon as you unlock them, because those provide background for some of the characters. Otherwise you can just focus on the main story mode throughout, and augment with the limited-time Starter Events.
When you rewatch the trailers there is a definite period where HoYoverse steps it up and this gets reflected into Genshin. Honkai has been through a lot these past years I hope their dev team in Genshin picks up the pace.

Aponia can see future, but she cant change it , thats her curse. Destiny alvays find the way. Shes also psychic so her powers involve hiponotising and controlling minds of people. She can soothe the pain by jsut making people forget about it
You know? The funny thing about the game, especially the recent chakram users like Pardofelis that actually use the thing as close range weapon and Aponia who only let her weapon floating behind her like an Angel's halo but shoot extremely long range projectiles wasn't all that surprising at first look when we already has a dual pistols wielding-Tuna and her ancestor use their guns to smacked the enemies hard instead of shooting them with it.
Tip: keep tissues nearby while watching the animated shorts. Hoyoverse is the 15th Herrscher, the Herrscher of Despair. They made 'break the cutie' into an art form.

Like other people said, it'd be delighting to see your reactions to the animations provided their proper order. However, it would change your perception of the many portions of the game. You will still be GUARANTEED a ton of emotions, but it's going to be not like "OMG! WTF! No way! I'm so happy and yet so sad and... why do I feel tears dropping???" but rather like "Oh no, it's the CG time? I... I need to get the napkins, 1 sec... So scared to push the [next]... all right, here we go. I feel it so differently now..."
Thank you for the reaction! I'm glad you're getting hooked and interested on the game. I hope you enjoy playing it! It is truly one of a kind. Like other people have already said, it'll be better to go into the story raw and without knowing what will happen so watching the CGs and chronicles right now is not recommended as they contain major spoilers. There is a short video of "Introducing the Honkai-verse" on the official Honkai channel though, and that would be a good introductory vid before playing as it is more of a summary of events before the actual game and explains a few basic terms.
I know people will suggest you to watch the animations but rather not since it was in-game cutscenes and contain MASSIVE MASSIVE spoilers so...the least you can watch is the honkai introduction video, it can give you an idea of what honkai is. Also, the first few chapters are slow but don't worry, the plot's gonna pick up real quick in just a few chapters and you shall know the true pain of honkai Impact 3rd
i highly recommend waiting like 4 weeks to start playing it. that’s when the 5.8 update is happening and they are making a new starter event that gives s-rank battlesuits and good weapons for starters and are changing and upgrading the older chapters and adding new system optimizations. if you sign up now, you won’t be getting the new stater event, you’ll get the old one :(
Nice, you started on my favorite trailer, 4.2, not just because of the music and visuals, but because it introduced one of my favorite battlesuits of my favorite Valkyrie, Fallen Rosemary Rita. My other favorite is 5.5 when they introduced the new Durandal battlesuit, Paletinus Equinox and another one for Rita, Spina Astera. Looking forward to seeing your journey into the Honkaiverse
Ok as a veteran honkai player, I am so glad you take this as 2 different games and quite happy you gave the genshin community a good side, really love this. would recommend watching the animated shorts and CG's (we also have visual novels and mangas for more lore or story outside of the game) that are in game rather from youtube since you seem to like it and also get the inside jokes we have here. great job on the video keep up
Battlesuits are basically different combat suits worn by the same character , with different powers and elements and types Honkai has 3 main battlesuit types, Mech, Bio and Psychic, which are powerful against different enemy types Mech defeats Bio, Bio defeats Psychic and Psychic defeats Mech The same character can have different battlesuits of different types for example: Kiana can have a Mech type battlesuit, a Bio type battlesuit AND a Psychic type battlesuit as different playable units
been subbed to you just recently because i love your wholesome reactions to genshin but you just earned a loyal follower from me now that you’re getting into honkai! it’s just too good of a game to ignore, and i consider our community with the friendliest and genuine folks out there, esp to newbies. there’s a lot of catching up to do and it /will/ get overwhelming, but i hope you don’t get discouraged! we have grown with these characters throughout, and they deserve every bit of love they can get as you progress in their stories. good luck, doro!
Fervent Tempo Delta is the augmented version of Rozaliya Olenyeva of the Vodka Girls fame. If you get enough augment cores for a battlesuit you can turn it into the augmented version that retains its level, and some skill levels also carry over. This is how Mihoyo breathes new life into old battlesuits that fell out of favor. Evangelion collab was the obvious choice, sine Honkai Impact was heavily inspired by it. Humanity is under attack from supernatural beings, and the only hope of defeating them is to use their powers against them. Plus a lot o depression. And yes, Aloy collab was underwhelming. No story quest to go with it, no fanfare. There should've been an event with a questline, cutscenes, lore and so on. So strange. Seele has a dark alter ego. Edgy and vicious but fiercely loyal to her. BTW Nyx is an ancient Greek deity that personifies the night. Fun fact - Paimon and Rozaliya have the same CN and JP voice aсtresses. They even joke about it in the event story. And yes, that's a Klee skin for Celestial Hymn, and once you obtain it you can use it. Sadly Keqing was only a guest star - only usable in the event and only while it lasted. You don't get to keep her after that. As for Elysia - well, she loves everyone, but her true love is herself. Her signature stigma set is Elysia, her ELF is a miniature version of herself, and her realm signets are called Signets of Ego. "A post honkai odyssey" means exactly what the name implies. It takes place after the main story has concluded. 8 years after the Honkai was defeated and humanity won. A new threat has emerged. This is why APHO Bronya looks so different from Bronya in the main story. This mode is very different from the main game - new enemies, new characters (except for Mei and Bronya), new combat style (with jumping, air dashing, aerial combos etc). You'll be happy to know that Pardofelis (the catgirl) is F2P friendly and farmable in-game. Also, in the lore she was supposed to be one of the weaker MANTISes (and didn't see much combat), but in my experience she is anything but. She is my favorite character for clearing Elysian Realm so far. BTW that last one was a character trailer, whereas the rest were version trailers. You might want to check out other character trailers too.
Do you mean battlesuits? Cause those are just characters, and each of the has multiple skin, with the exception of the newer ones. But yeah, I still want at least to have a skin for the Traveler. But yeah Genshin team is slacking.
@@MrVidau Correct. It's like how they show character development in the game, or just call backs to the manga sometimes with some battlesuits. They're the same character with a few exceptions, those being when the character is from an alternate universe. Like Fallen Rosemary Rita, who's not the Rita we're used to, seeming to look like a witch of sorts in design.
That Brownie jumping from the building must be a reference of Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell doing the same scene. They're both hacker after all 🤣.
you should consider waiting for version 5.8 if you're planning to play honkai. they're improving the new player experience by tweaking parts of the earlier chapters(not sure what exactly but I guess they're streamlining it by removing redundant missions among other things). 5.8 will also have a big new player-exclusive event with loads of free crystals, supply cards, a stigma set, s-ranks and even their signature weapons; and yes, that includes free rosemary that you said you wanted from the get-go(yes she's farmable but unlocking her asap should reduce the grind to get her to SSS rank a lot).
yeah but he needs to wait for like an extra month cause global has updates so much later than cn, he might have lost interest from needing to wait for that long as well, also, you can still get some of the new rewards from the revamped system even at like level 50 (i know cause i just got an alt account so we dont need to worry about that, he can still get free hov and the 666 crystals and a lot of exp)
@@bzchnt3143 If you can completely lose interest in playing a game that you're supposedly already quite invested in from just another month of waiting then perhaps you're really not into it in the first place. In any case, it's pointless to argue over and/or speak on behalf of another person on the internet you barely even know would feel like playing in the next month or so since only they themselves get to answer that. Lastly, it seems you're underestimating the actual value that 5.8 new player event provides; the amount of grinding it saves from months worth of materials for a farmable S-rank or g2 stigma set, or even potential pulls saved even from just targeting specific signature gear that will be just be given out for free in the event. rngesus can be kind at times but surely you'd know how expensive it can also get when targeting a single piece of gear if you've played hi3 long enough. not to mention the extra supply cards and crystals.
As others have said, if you plan to play Honkai soon, Know that the animations contain spoilers for the story, so choosing to watch them beforehand is a big decision.

@@Doro44c All short animations are the climaxes of their respective story chapters. It's not just some bonus CG but the whole ending of the chapter is told via the movie. While watching them in context still feels a lot different than out of context, it's still better watch them when they actually happen in the game for the best experience. They will hit hard emotionally and knowing what will happen takes away a lot of impact.
wait till you get to see the animated cinematics dude, you're gonna love them. But since you're gonna play it maybe you can wait to see them in-game cuz they are all about the main story.

Luckily, Mihoyo/Hoyoverse thought ahead and created a spin-off anime called cooking with valkyries which provides bittersweet but ultimately very cute moments. Other than the core cast, there isn't much spoilers so feel free to react to it when you want to. The show is about the core cast cooking certain foods and the recipes for those dishes are actually provided so maybe cooking stream where you re-create the dishes? If you want to after reacting to the series, that is.
About Aponia, she's psion(mindreader and all that) who feels very sorry for all the ppl who died in her care even though there was no helping it. Gameplay wise she's one of the most strong Lightning dps(gacha only) so not easy to get. I've been playing the game for a month now and the amount of characters u get for free is just insane! not to mention that they have so many character variants in the game(the battlesuits) that your chance of getting more then 1 on a 10 pull are very high, my record is 4 new characters in a 10 pull. U also get alot of stamina from leveling up or just logging in on specific day periods so its easy to build up alot of it for story missions and the like. Do keep in mind that the menus will be your hardest challenge, its a maze so take your time figuring out whats where so u don't miss out on free handouts and such. I can't wait to see u play it, gonna be a blast for sure!
Currently the game has number of game mode. Stage mode, open world mode, arcade mode, bullet hell mode, etc. The game is quite grinding imo & i've been playing quite for some time. If you want a specific battlesuit, always safe or grind for that specific one. Being greedy collecting them all will only damage your wallet. Like me for example, saving up before for aponia only because reasons ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) And then i will not gacha until next 13th herscer released
Good news for you, you want so much character, and Honkai has the best gacha system among all game. Even better than Genshin. In Genshin you need 180 pull for a 100% guarantee, in Honkai only 100. And if you want to max out everything, equipment, weapons, character, in Genshin you need almost 2x as much pull than in Honkai. (Honkai ~700 pull, Genshin ~1200+)
@@kallenlivesmatter3229 I play 2 from the 3 you mentioned. None of them has guaranteed drop on banner. None. And all of them drop more than one in a banner, so if you unlucky you'll get 3 duplicate from one, and none from the other. In Honkai however, it's a 100% guarantee that you can get that one you want after 100 drop max. None of the above mentioned has this. So how they better in gacha? Because they not.
@@Doro44c yes and many but the trailers you saw were also full of spoilers 😂 besides, I recommend reading the manga before playing or following them as you progress in the game's story and amazed there are many mangas simply magnificent
@@Doro44c you can watch reawakening and chapter XV cg, those are safe to watch ( it says spoiler alert in the title but it’s really the only animated short that doesn’t have spoiler because it gives you just a 1 minute fight scene without any dialogue whatsoever so you could make a quick video on reacting to Chapter XV cg and reawakening cg if people want to see it :)
CGi's containt some "spoilers" since is how mostly ends each chapter yet you dont have any context of it, if either you want to watch them or not , you still will enjoy them in game just will take long time till you can see them since the first CGi's starts from chapter 8 onwards, many streamers that now play the game reacted before to the cinematics and still later on in game stream they were amazed (now with context) is just hit different, with this is up to you if you want or not react ot them, the chronicles of the characters is something i would really say is the real spoilers.

Okay just a quick thing (You and others might already know) 'Veliona' is a made-up name by the English Version (They also call Seele as 'Saule' XD) Starchasm Nyx is 'Seele' just like Seele is Seele. In the Fandom that doesn't conform to the EN-Translations' Crap we call her Zeele or Dark-Seele. To understand her existance one has to know Seele's Story which is: (Spoilers ahead) Dark-Seele is basically a personality created by Seele as a 'Defense Mechanism' to the Stigmata of Death that Seele was born with. While Dark-Seele has an own personality and own feelings, she's basically part of Seele herself and Dark-Seele even implies that at some point, when she's no longer needed as an independant Personality, she might disappear or merge into Seele. It is however also been implied in Interviews that Seele wouldn't let that happen as Seele considers her a Sister. So in short. Seele and Dark-Seele are basically one person. But the game treats them as two very often. Same goes for Fu Hua and Herrscher of Sentience / Senti. They ARE technically the same person, but the Game treats them as seperate beings in all instanced except that HoS is still listed as a Fu Hua Battlesuit XD

For some reason I think it's better for you to watch the honkai animations so that when you going to play the game from beginning to end you can see the difference of how you see the game without context and with context
i saw others already say this, but if you are planning on playing, don’t watch the CG/animations. full of spoilers and you’ll see them all in game eventually. i do suggest looking into the manga/maybe watch a video on what happens right before the beginning of the game bc they just sort of throw you in lol
I'm late to the party, but: If you have any interest in mecha, Evangelion is a must see. Asuka is one of the main characters and this "fork thing" is the spear (or lance) of Longinus from christian fame; ...fitting for an anime/manga where you fight angels. Yes, first they laugh about Kevin, then they learn that he gives the key of relevation away because it's useless to him, and then they see him on the moon.... ...but this video stopped before that trailer.
Our one and only golden rule in Honkai for streamers. • Please play the game unti you beat Chapter 9 (AKA the last chapter of the tutorial). Then you can quit the game if you don't like it.
Its just obvious in these PVs and story cutscenes that mihoyo loves Honkai more bc its their precious baby and passion project while Genshin is just their money maker but I hope they put more work into Genshin as well.
i play both genshin and honkai since both of them release but for character design, clothing design and combat i prefer honkai over genshin , the interesting thing from genshin to me that keep me playing that honkai dont have for now only the exploration i must admid that genshin have amazing map and nice scenerey wait to be seen. and then a fucking HSR come out fuck!! seem i will play them all.
@Lycoris I doubt his playing speed would even be able to take him to the sea of quanta part which is why I am saying him to watch since Honkai is long and monotonous at times and people pause their progress many times and then again get back at it basically what I am trying to say is let him get hyped I am not saying to give me spoilers but rather to get hyped about the stuff that he is going to eventually understand after getting the context
@Lycoris Yeah of course not all of them Reburn is fine the Durandal vs Kevin cutscene is also great since it barely spoils anything other than hyping everyone about power levels and maybe Cyberangel because that part will be confusing to him anyways because Sea of Quanta was very vaguely explained atleast in the beginning I get your point though let's just hope he actually plays it as far since half of these players who come from Genshin don't stick with Honkai for too long and just leave easily I first started Honkai two years before Genshin was launched but I didn't create an account back then and also I forgot about it eventually that game progress was deleted and I forgot about most of it but later when Genshin did a collab with Honkai I again thought it would be a great idea to start playing so this time I installed on PC and linked my account also PC has 120fps so of course I would like PC more though I wasn't using a controller and it was hard because of that

@@Laetus_Stella there isn’t really a list of the strongest characters, however we can speculate. Here’s a list of me ranking characters from the strongest to the weakest based on my speculation (obvious spoilers): *long comment ahead*
1-Herrscher of the End(Strongest Herrscher): she can be considered as the Honkai God, an almost omnipotent being, she was the one who destroyed the rest of the previous era after the last survivors of the planet went into cryopods.
2-Kevin Kaslana(strongest MANTIS): he’s the only one who can unleash the full power of Shamash (Might of An-Utu) without dying or being injured (Siegfried as well but he had to activate his genes in order to do it, he also got saved by his amazing wife Cecilia). Kevin was also the only one who could damage and stun the Final Herrscher, of course he couldn’t kill her but he managed to delay her so everyone could make it to the next era.
3-every other MANTIS (the MANTISes are some of the strongest characters, however since we still haven’t seen full potential yet “at least not all of them”, this list is mostly just talking about their current powers):
-Elysia: she’s the 2nd Flamechaser for a reason. Its has also been regarded many times that she is almost as strong as Kevin.
-Aponia: she’s the strongest psychic MANTIS, she can make others do something they don’t want to do by just saying “please”, however this trick doesn’t work on Kevin and Elysia (and maybe Eden?)
-Kalpas/Sakura: they both seem to be very close in terms of power. Especially considering their fight with each other turned out to be a draw (however that was before Kalpas had the MANTIS surgery, so I guess that makes him a bit stronger than Sakura?)
-Su/Mobius: I didn’t know where to put those two but I wanted to put them close to each other mainly because of the “first institute incident”. That incident featured Mobius giving in to the Honkai beast infused within her which made her turn into a serpentine-like entity that attacks anyone on sight. Su was there and he wanted to turn her back to being human so they fought. Their fight was on a stalemate but then Hua came in from the sound of the alarms and her interference resulted in accidentally breaking the stalemate. Su then activated his Honkai form which looked like a peacock on Mobius which severely weakened Mobius but also made him unconscious, Sakura then came to deal the final blow that made Mobius turn back to normal. So I guess that makes both Mobius and Su close to each other in terms of power?
Eden: she hasn’t shown much of her fighting yet, however there is a scene in chapter 29 where she goes to Aponia without being affected by her psychic attacks for some reason.
-Hua: Fu Hua has been consistently nerfed in the story but the strongest thing she’s done is “Eminence” it’s a move that has no physical form and it cannot be defended against (it’s the same exact move she did on Sirin in 2nd Eruption that broke the link between Sirin and the WoH)
-Kosma: his strength depends on how many honkai beasts he’s eaten (cause he has the genes of Vishnu), one thing that’s impressive tho is that he potentially can be almost as strong as Kevin.
-Vill-V: we still don’t know much about her. She also might be the most mysterious flamechaser due to her 8 different personalities. And the most interesting personality I find is the “Kevin Killer mk5”.
-Griseo: a child who got turned into a MANTIS just to save her life. She has also been speculated to be the one who’s on Project Ark.
-Pardofelis: has been regarded as the weakest flamechaser, in fact. She survived the tragedy of Binding just cause she got lucky. She hasn’t shown any fighting capabilities.
4-Herrscher of Sentience/Sirin(with 6 Herrscher cores): these children have shown that they’re the strongest Herrschers of the current era so far.
5-Herrscher of Flamescion: Kiana after her learning “Imaginary Renormalization” (the move she did on the last fight with Otto in chapter 28) might be the reason as to why the current era wins against the Honkai and the last Herrscher (which might also be the reason why Kiana isn’t seen in APHO 😞)
6-Herrscher of Thunder: Mei has been training on the Elysian Realm for quite some time now and it has been said that everyone who comes to the Elysian Realm become stronger when they leave.
7-Durandal(the strongest Valkyrie): after her upgrade in chapter 28 I feel like she’s the second strongest non-Herrscher character alive after Kevin.
8-Herrscher of Reason (Joyce/Joachim/Bronya): Bronya showed why she’s the strongest of the 3 in chapter 28.
9-Theresa: she’s mostly likely gonna become a Herrscher in the future. But the question is which Herrscher? Binding or Corruption? Or maybe a novelty-class like Flamescion and Rimestar? (Pls Mihoyo, give the world’s number 1 cutie more plot in the future cuz you guys have been ignoring her)
10-Seele: she’s most likely gonna become the Herrscher of Death in the future but for now she sits lower than everyone.
The rest such as Rita, Raven, Sushang, Roza, Lili, etc, sit much lower than everyone else.
With the release of Pardofelis, we got a new weapon, Chakrams.
Not even two weeks after Felis's release, we hear that another character is being developed who uses chakrams, Aponia.
The same happend with Bows, when we got Fischl and then Elysia and later Raven xD

A Post Honkai Odyssey is a game mode. (Literally Devil May Cry) It's kinda open-worldish at least for Honkai standards. It takes place a couple years after the main story of Honkai. But it's playable even if you didn't finish the main story (which isn't even done), since they do a good job of hiding the events that happend in the past. So it's a cool self-contained story.
Also if you'll have any questions on stuff, feel free to ask, I'm sure there are other besides me that are level 88 (max level), who will gladly explain stuff to you without spoiling other stuff.

I know people are going to suggest you watch the animated shorts because they are awesome, but I highly recommend you don't.
These animations are actually in game cutscenes so you'll end up massively spoiling yourself.
It's clear that you're already very willing to play the game without seeing them, which means that you should play the game blind and experience the animations in the story. It'll be a much better experience.
Agreed. It's far better to watch them with their context in-game, rather than in isolation. So I will also recommend skipping watching the bulk of them on RUclips. You can watch the non-canon ones (Reburn, Bronya, Winter Memories), but the rest are integrated into the game.
Also recommend the Honkai Chronicles 'Mobile Operation Centre.' It'll give you that much-needed background. All other 'Honkai Chronicles' are about specific characters, and contain spoilers, but also background information contained in their tie-in manga. If you want to watch those, you may want to wait until after you've played through their character arcs in the game.
Recommend you play through the 'Chronicles' story mode as soon as you unlock them, because those provide background for some of the characters. Otherwise you can just focus on the main story mode throughout, and augment with the limited-time Starter Events.

When you rewatch the trailers there is a definite period where HoYoverse steps it up and this gets reflected into Genshin. Honkai has been through a lot these past years I hope their dev team in Genshin picks up the pace.

Aponia can see future, but she cant change it , thats her curse. Destiny alvays find the way. Shes also psychic so her powers involve hiponotising and controlling minds of people. She can soothe the pain by jsut making people forget about it

The funny thing about the game, especially the recent chakram users like Pardofelis that actually use the thing as close range weapon and Aponia who only let her weapon floating behind her like an Angel's halo but shoot extremely long range projectiles wasn't all that surprising at first look when we already has a dual pistols wielding-Tuna and her ancestor use their guns to smacked the enemies hard instead of shooting them with it.
Aponia give us 90 primogems everydays if we buy welkin moon.
That's why we should worship her.

Like other people have already said, it'll be better to go into the story raw and without knowing what will happen so watching the CGs and chronicles right now is not recommended as they contain major spoilers. There is a short video of "Introducing the Honkai-verse" on the official Honkai channel though, and that would be a good introductory vid before playing as it is more of a summary of events before the actual game and explains a few basic terms.

I know people will suggest you to watch the animations but rather not since it was in-game cutscenes and contain MASSIVE MASSIVE spoilers so...the least you can watch is the honkai introduction video, it can give you an idea of what honkai is.
Also, the first few chapters are slow but don't worry, the plot's gonna pick up real quick in just a few chapters and you shall know the true pain of honkai Impact 3rd
i highly recommend waiting like 4 weeks to start playing it. that’s when the 5.8 update is happening and they are making a new starter event that gives s-rank battlesuits and good weapons for starters and are changing and upgrading the older chapters and adding new system optimizations. if you sign up now, you won’t be getting the new stater event, you’ll get the old one :(
Nice, you started on my favorite trailer, 4.2, not just because of the music and visuals, but because it introduced one of my favorite battlesuits of my favorite Valkyrie, Fallen Rosemary Rita. Battlesuits are basically different combat suits worn by the same character , with different powers and elements and types
Honkai has 3 main battlesuit types, Mech, Bio and Psychic, which are powerful against different enemy types
Mech defeats Bio, Bio defeats Psychic and Psychic defeats Mech
The same character can have different battlesuits of different types for example:
Kiana can have a Mech type battlesuit, a Bio type battlesuit AND a Psychic type battlesuit as different playable units
Watching you react to these has gotten me really hype to play more of the game 😄

Fervent Tempo Delta is the augmented version of Rozaliya Olenyeva of the Vodka Girls fame. If you get enough augment cores for a battlesuit you can turn it into the augmented version that retains its level, and some skill levels also carry over. This is how Mihoyo breathes new life into old battlesuits that fell out of favor.
Evangelion collab was the obvious choice, sine Honkai Impact was heavily inspired by it. Humanity is under attack from supernatural beings, and the only hope of defeating them is to use their powers against them. Plus a lot o depression.
And yes, Aloy collab was underwhelming. No story quest to go with it, no fanfare. There should've been an event with a questline, cutscenes, lore and so on. So strange.
Seele has a dark alter ego. Edgy and vicious but fiercely loyal to her. BTW Nyx is an ancient Greek deity that personifies the night.
Fun fact - Paimon and Rozaliya have the same CN and JP voice aсtresses. They even joke about it in the event story. And yes, that's a Klee skin for Celestial Hymn, and once you obtain it you can use it. Sadly Keqing was only a guest star - only usable in the event and only while it lasted. You don't get to keep her after that.
As for Elysia - well, she loves everyone, but her true love is herself. Her signature stigma set is Elysia, her ELF is a miniature version of herself, and her realm signets are called Signets of Ego.
"A post honkai odyssey" means exactly what the name implies. It takes place after the main story has concluded. 8 years after the Honkai was defeated and humanity won. A new threat has emerged. This is why APHO Bronya looks so different from Bronya in the main story. This mode is very different from the main game - new enemies, new characters (except for Mei and Bronya), new combat style (with jumping, air dashing, aerial combos etc).
You'll be happy to know that Pardofelis (the catgirl) is F2P friendly and farmable in-game. Also, in the lore she was supposed to be one of the weaker MANTISes (and didn't see much combat), but in my experience she is anything but. She is my favorite character for clearing Elysian Realm so far.

They're the same character with a few exceptions, those being when the character is from an alternate universe. Like Fallen Rosemary Rita, who's not the Rita we're used to, seeming to look like a witch of sorts in design.

you should consider waiting for version 5.8 if you're planning to play honkai.
they're improving the new player experience by tweaking parts of the earlier chapters(not sure what exactly but I guess they're streamlining it by removing redundant missions among other things). 5.8 will also have a big new player-exclusive event with loads of free crystals, supply cards, a stigma set, s-ranks and even their signature weapons; and yes, that includes free rosemary that you said you wanted from the get-go(yes she's farmable but unlocking her asap should reduce the grind to get her to SSS rank a lot).
yeah but he needs to wait for like an extra month cause global has updates so much later than cn, he might have lost interest from needing to wait for that long as well, also, you can still get some of the new rewards from the revamped system even at like level 50 (i know cause i just got an alt account so we dont need to worry about that, he can still get free hov and the 666 crystals and a lot of exp)

In any case, it's pointless to argue over and/or speak on behalf of another person on the internet you barely even know would feel like playing in the next month or so since only they themselves get to answer that.
Lastly, it seems you're underestimating the actual value that 5.8 new player event provides; the amount of grinding it saves from months worth of materials for a farmable S-rank or g2 stigma set, or even potential pulls saved even from just targeting specific signature gear that will be just be given out for free in the event. rngesus can be kind at times but surely you'd know how expensive it can also get when targeting a single piece of gear if you've played hi3 long enough. not to mention the extra supply cards and crystals.

@@Doro44c All short animations are the climaxes of their respective story chapters. It's not just some bonus CG but the whole ending of the chapter is told via the movie. While watching them in context still feels a lot different than out of context, it's still better watch them when they actually happen in the game for the best experience. They will hit hard emotionally and knowing what will happen takes away a lot of impact.
I'd love to see you reacting to the cinematic trailers from Honkai. Those are on another level!!

Luckily, Mihoyo/Hoyoverse thought ahead and created a spin-off anime called cooking with valkyries which provides bittersweet but ultimately very cute moments. Other than the core cast, there isn't much spoilers so feel free to react to it when you want to.
The show is about the core cast cooking certain foods and the recipes for those dishes are actually provided so maybe cooking stream where you re-create the dishes? If you want to after reacting to the series, that is.

About Aponia, she's psion(mindreader and all that) who feels very sorry for all the ppl who died in her care even though there was no helping it.
Gameplay wise she's one of the most strong Lightning dps(gacha only) so not easy to get.
I've been playing the game for a month now and the amount of characters u get for free is just insane! not to mention that they have so many character variants in the game(the battlesuits) that your chance of getting more then 1 on a 10 pull are very high, my record is 4 new characters in a 10 pull.
U also get alot of stamina from leveling up or just logging in on specific day periods so its easy to build up alot of it for story missions and the like.
Do keep in mind that the menus will be your hardest challenge, its a maze so take your time figuring out whats where so u don't miss out on free handouts and such.
I can't wait to see u play it, gonna be a blast for sure!

Currently the game has number of game mode. Stage mode, open world mode, arcade mode, bullet hell mode, etc. The game is quite grinding imo & i've been playing quite for some time. If you want a specific battlesuit, always safe or grind for that specific one. Being greedy collecting them all will only damage your wallet.
Like me for example, saving up before for aponia only because reasons ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
And then i will not gacha until next 13th herscer released

Good news for you, you want so much character, and Honkai has the best gacha system among all game. Even better than Genshin.
In Genshin you need 180 pull for a 100% guarantee, in Honkai only 100. And if you want to max out everything, equipment, weapons, character, in Genshin you need almost 2x as much pull than in Honkai. (Honkai ~700 pull, Genshin ~1200+)

In Honkai however, it's a 100% guarantee that you can get that one you want after 100 drop max. None of the above mentioned has this. So how they better in gacha? Because they not.

CGi's containt some "spoilers" since is how mostly ends each chapter yet you dont have any context of it, if either you want to watch them or not , you still will enjoy them in game just will take long time till you can see them since the first CGi's starts from chapter 8 onwards, many streamers that now play the game reacted before to the cinematics and still later on in game stream they were amazed (now with context) is just hit different, with this is up to you if you want or not react ot them, the chronicles of the characters is something i would really say is the real spoilers.

Starchasm Nyx is 'Seele' just like Seele is Seele. In the Fandom that doesn't conform to the EN-Translations' Crap we call her Zeele or Dark-Seele.
To understand her existance one has to know Seele's Story which is: (Spoilers ahead)
Dark-Seele is basically a personality created by Seele as a 'Defense Mechanism' to the Stigmata of Death that Seele was born with. While Dark-Seele has an own personality and own feelings, she's basically part of Seele herself and Dark-Seele even implies that at some point, when she's no longer needed as an independant Personality, she might disappear or merge into Seele.
It is however also been implied in Interviews that Seele wouldn't let that happen as Seele considers her a Sister.
So in short. Seele and Dark-Seele are basically one person. But the game treats them as two very often.

For some reason I think it's better for you to watch the honkai animations so that when you going to play the game from beginning to end you can see the difference of how you see the game without context and with context

i saw others already say this, but if you are planning on playing, don’t watch the CG/animations. full of spoilers and you’ll see them all in game eventually. i do suggest looking into the manga/maybe watch a video on what happens right before the beginning of the game bc they just sort of throw you in lol

Its just obvious in these PVs and story cutscenes that mihoyo loves Honkai more bc its their precious baby and passion project while Genshin is just their money maker but I hope they put more work into Genshin as well.

i play both genshin and honkai since both of them release but for character design, clothing design and combat i prefer honkai over genshin , the interesting thing from genshin to me that keep me playing that honkai dont have for now only the exploration i must admid that genshin have amazing map and nice scenerey wait to be seen. and then a fucking HSR come out fuck!! seem i will play them all.

@Lycoris I doubt his playing speed would even be able to take him to the sea of quanta part which is why I am saying him to watch since Honkai is long and monotonous at times and people pause their progress many times and then again get back at it basically what I am trying to say is let him get hyped I am not saying to give me spoilers but rather to get hyped about the stuff that he is going to eventually understand after getting the context
@Lycoris Yeah of course not all of them Reburn is fine the Durandal vs Kevin cutscene is also great since it barely spoils anything other than hyping everyone about power levels and maybe Cyberangel because that part will be confusing to him anyways because Sea of Quanta was very vaguely explained atleast in the beginning I get your point though let's just hope he actually plays it as far since half of these players who come from Genshin don't stick with Honkai for too long and just leave easily I first started Honkai two years before Genshin was launched but I didn't create an account back then and also I forgot about it eventually that game progress was deleted and I forgot about most of it but later when Genshin did a collab with Honkai I again thought it would be a great idea to start playing so this time I installed on PC and linked my account also PC has 120fps so of course I would like PC more though I wasn't using a controller and it was hard because of that

Well, when you play the story, at chapter 1 to 7 maybe a bit boring, but things get interesting once you reach chapter 8 to 9
you should watch the Cinematics without context and then watch em after playing

In terms of character development and story, honkai far exceeds Genshin, but both are amazing. Kudos to hoyoverse
