Note: Correct way to park an automatic vehicle
While still pressing the Footbrake + Select Neutral + Pull handbrake + Release footbrake (weight of the vehicle is now on the brakes)
press foot break again + select P-Park + then turn off the engine.
My apologies as I was not able to mention on the video that you have to press the foot break in order to select P-Park.

What if ganto gngwa.
D to N while pressing footbrake tapos handbrake. Hndi bibitawan ang footbrake saka lipat ung N to P. Bibitawan lang ang footbrake kapag patay na makina.
Sa pagpark naman okay lang kahit hindi mo na ilagay sa Neutral. Basta full stop -> handbrake -> D to P -> turn off engine. Nasa car manual naman lahat to. Marami lang hindi nagbabasa.
Tama. Informative mga sinabi nya except sa pagpapark. Let’s follow the manual lalo kung full stop naman.
Tumpak! Also, kung ang katwiran sa method na sinasabi nya ay "the idea is you need to put the weight of the vehicle sa brakes and not on the transmission" - Maa-achieve mo na yun sa pag-apak mo ng foot breaks (full stop) before switching to P.
I’ve been doing this for years but other so-called experts are making it even complicated.. for me : Handbrake up-Push to park. No need to put to neutral before park.

Mismo kasi ang unit ko veloz naka automatic siya kapag shift mo sa park kusa siya mag hand break
It is definitely true for the last tip or advise and highly recommended when parking on inclined places. Always use your handbreak when parking your car AT man or MT.

sir, when parking in an enclinded road better to use hand break first before shifting the gear stick to 1st or 2nd gear? thanks so much
Paano po pag traffic pwede ba naka drive tapos nka hand break?
@@jealinmaefuentes4679 Better put the transmission in neutral when waiting in traffic then engage the handbrake. This way you will avoid overheating the transmission and makakapagpahinga pa ang paa mo because you will not be pressing the footbrake while waiting in traffic.

from D to N while pressing brakes pull HB, release brake, press brake again then shift to P, turn off engine. This video helped a lot.

Sir pwede po magtanong, after hb as you said you should release fb first then press again then shift to p, pano po sir if after hb while still stepping sa brake shift to P agad, any difference?
Ako, i apply brake and wait for a full stop. Shift to park. Then hand brake. I never had a problem. Time to replace car after 5-8 years naman. And the transmission or brake won’t be damage using this procedure in 5-8 yrs. Lol

As long as naka full break naman eh wala naman sigurong stress na marereceive ang tranny since full stop na. Fingers cross kung totoo mang makakasira to. Lol
Ako when parking, from D to P agad while nka foot break then pag nsa P na, hand break na then release foot break
another reason for not putting the gear selector in neutral during downhill runs and even when approaching red traffic /stop lights is to enable engine braking w/c is actually good for the vehicle because it reduces stress on the brakes, it forces the vehicle to reduce speed gradually, and today's modern sophisticated computer controlled cars are designed to figure out w/c gear is best under every driving condition.
Pwede naman magNeutral habang nakastop sa traffic light. Disengaged ang gears at maiiwasan ang accidental acceleration kapag nabitawan mo ang brakes. Basta don't forget your handbrake.

not necessary to put it in nuetral during parking , as long as you only release the brake pedal after putting the gear in park and pulled the handbrake.
yes i agree with you.. makaluma na kasi yung style nya. 6 yrs ko na ginagawa to in good condition pa ang AT transmission ko.

Dapat una park bago handbrake, mas safer. But the rule is always put your foot on the brake before shifting to any gear. Because automatic transmission ay tumatakbo yan kusa kaya kailangan parating nakaagapay ang paa mo sa brake.
Applicable ba ito sa CVT? Dapat may classification rin para ma educate lalo kami. Thanks!
pareho lang ang conventional AT and CVT in terms of operating it, but in terms of maintaining, driving and driver's feeling magkaiba sila.

I have a friend who was manual gear tard (he was probably the number one hater of automatic transmission earlier). But as we grew older, he realised automatic transmission is more relaxed. He eventually buy only automatic transmission. But one thing he’s still debating with me is his habbit of shifting the automatic gear to neutral as he approach the red traffic lights. I told him it will mess up his automatic gears but since he’s an arrogant fool, he never listened to me.
Ouch! for the automatic transmission, eventually he will learn from his mistake the expensive way.

He will likely messup his transmission/gears due to wear and tear earlier than expected. I too came from manual trans and i did some research first of do's and don'ts driving an automatic trans watching pinoy vloggers and international. These knowledge i share with my parents as they weren't much tech literate so we can enjoy driving an AT and how to take care of its transmission. Driving AT is really fun especially on traffic even on inclined , amen to the hill stop assist technology!✌️😂 No more nanlalamig na pawis on inclined traffics
Manual minaneho ko at 1st time ko bibili ng automatic na kotse.. Manual kasi pinag aralan ko noon sa driving school at kinuha ko sa LTO.. meaning po ba ok lang at mas tama na kapag nasa traffic light or quick stop eh iwan lang sa Drive and no need na to shift to Neutral? eto kasi nakasanayan ko sa manual.
@@yshish5286 Sir kung quick stop ok lang nka drive lang yung shifter,pero kung matagal mas mainam naka shift sa neutral. ang automatic kasi parang nag drive ka lang ng manual minus the clutch, pakinggan mo yung andar ng makina sa arangkada tapos release ng konti sa accelerator para mag up-shift ang transmission, Sa downhill lang magkaiba kasi di mo maramdaman ang engine brake unless mag shift ka sa lower gears. Sa uphill medyo mahirap mag overtake ma miss mo manual transmission ng dati mong kotse pero sa traffic at inclined stop and go traffic di mo na balikan yung dati mong kotse.

Hello, recommended ba ung pag gamit ng tamang pag parking sa lahat ng automatic transmission kahit sa mga bagong labas na sasakyan na automatic? O recommended ito sa mga lumang sasakyan na automatic transmission? Ford fiesta 2011 po kasi ang gamit ko at ngayon ko lang nalaman ang ganito sa tamang pag park, sana masagot po ang katanungan ko.
Lahat po ng AT bago man po o luma.. lagi daw po mag engine brake(handbrake)when it comes to parking a car. Based on my class experienced Japanese licensed here.😊
So how often should transmission be change. Never really paid atrention to it other than takin it to get serviced. I have a 2016 Subaru Legacy 3.6 RS Premium.

Sir Dennis, ano po recommendation ninyo sa heavy traffic? So nasa drive and apak po ba sa break ganun po? Yung height po papaano po yuon relative to the car po? Naka xpander po ako sir
I dont quite get it. Pero i suggest if na sa incline ka let us say may paahon and nag stop nang matagal then brake lagay sa N and lockbrake... Make sure the car is totally not moving afyer the lock brake then pag aandar ka to prevent the car from sliding down if there is no hill start assist then lagay mo sa D habang na ka e brake then wait for it to bite tsaka mo disengage ung ebrake then gas pedal. Any sttess or strain in transmission produces heat especially if ginamit bilang preno ang transmi.
Break lang ok na para makapag react agad pag nag move na.
Paps i have a question po. Meron po kz ako ford focus 2015. Npansin ko pg nag accelerate (low rpms) nag ba vibrate pi pro nwwala dn po sya. Pg bmblis na. Ano po kya issue ng auto ko? Slamat paps .God bless u🙏

Tips: you don't need press and hold gear lever button when changing between Drive and Neutral. You just simply push or pull without pressing the button

Sir Dennis good day po! Ask ko lang po pwede po ba sa AT Transmission when driving/in motion maging ito po ay in flat surface or downhill/uphill ay ilipat po ang gear selector in lower gears while stepping on the gas pedal like sa common AT transmission na may

Thank you for your comment and support ka Fixit! Actually you can do it dahil papasok nman ang gear while giving gas but it is not recommended because your while giving gas your also increasing the engine rpm thats why I recommend to let go of the gas pedal when you need to change to a lower gear.

Yong ginagawa ko sakin sir pababa at paakyat bago ako magselect ng gear is yong takbo ko ay nasa 20-30 lang tas pwede kanang magselect ng gear pero wag mo munang apakan ang gas

Medyo paahon y0ng parking area. Pag hinto ng sasakyan nka f0otbrake lang ako tas D to N tas hand brake then released footbrake nako biglang umatras y0ng sasakyan kala ko yong katabi kong kotse ang umaandar. Buti nalang naapakan ko agad yong footbrake. Pareply naman po kung bakit ganun thanks...

Kapag masyado pababa ang degree angle ng downhill na dadaanan ng sasakyan mo much better select lower gears like L or 2 which ever is avilable para magstay lang sa lower gear ang transmission at magamit mo ang engine brake nito. Kapag preno ka ng preno sa downhill pwede itong magbrake fade at mawalan ng preno kapag masyado nang mainit.

How about D+N+hand brake+P before releasing the brake?

The proper way to park is make sure nakadiin ang brake ng sasakyan bago mo ito ma shift to park then hand brake. I don't know kung nakakasira ng sasakyan since you shifting so much gear just to park the car.
Ito din iniisip ko e, kasi kung naka-engage na ang handbrake, hindi ba sya na ang sasalo dun hindi na kailangan mag neutral

Yan ang mali na ginagawa ng pamangkin ko nung sya pa ang nagdadrive ng kotse ko kasi ang itinuro sa akin sa driving school palaging nasa neutral ang gear kapag stop at naka hand break. Ang ginigawa kasi nya nilalagay nya kaagad sa park after mag hand break. Ako kasi mula nang naka panuod ako ng video tulad nito sa isang american driver palaging nilalagay ko muna sa neutral then hand break bago i release ang foot break kapag naka park na ako sa garage then ililipat ko na sa park. Napansin ko na kahit naka hand break at nasa neutral kapag ni release ang foot break gagalaw ng kunti ang car lalo na kung inclined

Hindi na kailangan ilagay sa neutral bago magpark.
A Hand break does not completely hold your car into a full stop. In my case if may medyo uneven surface hindi ko ina-angat ang foot break agad hanggat hindi pa naka switch into Park. After the Park mode...angat ko na foot break.

mali yang sinasabi nyo, first and foremost before placing your gear selector to "P" dapat handbrake muna, especially if you are parking on inclines, that way, the vehicle's directional mass is being shifted to the brakes instead of putting all the weight on the transmission. If you do the procedure that is "P" first before handbrake especially on inclines mararamdaman mo pagshift mo sa "D" matigas yung shifter creates a "thud" or shift knock once you shifted to "D". sa madaling salita you shifted all the vehicle mass on the tranny, instead on the brakes. now do the other way na sinasabi mong "mali" na handrake first then shift to "P". I'am 100% percent sure hindi mo maeexperience yun shift shock na yan

Hi sir. Nasabi niyo na wag muna mag change gear from D to P habang umaandar pa. Mag aapply din ba ito kung may 3,2,1 option yung car. Di rin ba mabuti pag from D to 3,2,1 gear habang umaandar?
Iba-iba pala ang operation sa park ng sasakyan gmit ang AT. Dto kasi sa Japan.. napag aralan ko sa school na pinag graduatan ko as a pro.
Ang operation nila sa pag park ng sasakyan gnito po..
1.HANDBRAKE
2.PARKING GEAR(P)
3.TURN OFF ENGINE (while pressing the foot break pedal)
Then when you start the engine of AT..
1. Press the break firmly
2.engine on
3.handbreakpullldown
4.drive gear(D)

Sir tanong ko lang po naka-wigo din po ako, when driving po sa pataas or pababa na daan, safe po bang ishift yung gears from D4 to 3/2 na di inaapakan yung clutch/brake? may napanuod din po kasi akong vlogger na steady lang daw sa gas pedal while shifting gears pero di ko po sure kung safe yon. please help my honda accord 2006 has problem; while driving at night my dashboard with the rpm and speedometer, headlights, radio turning on and off repeatedly for 2 to 3 seconds eratically especially when i hit pot hole.
could it be bad ELD?
I already checked the alternator and battery and its all good.
Checked the grounds also and its fine.

Twice na ko nkarinig advice na dapat daw stay lang sa drive pag nsa traffic lights lng. Mas mkakasra daw kng lagi shift neutral sa red light.

Idol yung Toyota Hilux 2019 model, bago dinala sa casa tumatakbo pa. Tpos ng nadiagnose ang sabi palitan daw ang transmission oil, pumayag naman kami. Nung kukunin na namin hindi na gumagalaw o tatakbo ang sasakyan, pero may reverse. Kaya dinala sa casa may nag ilaw kasi na Gear Icon. Anong masasabi nyo po.

Magkano pa replace ng transmission oil filter for Peugeot 307 2006?
Wala kasi sa oil pan yung filter nasa loob mismo ng transmission
eto lang yung tips sa AT na nag agree ako sa lahat ng sinabi. di tulad nung isang mechaniko na may ari ng malaking repair sbop na napanood ko dito at mdami naniniwala sa kanya na ok lang daw iwan sa drive pag nkastop yung car kasi dun daw mas totoong nkkahinga yung engine dahil piniipigilan yung flywheel sa pag ikot etc. di nman raw magooverheat ang transmission kahit nkaengage sa engine at a stop kasi may cooling system nman raw. mas maiiwasan raw wear and tear sa engine pg ganun. pro syempre di ko naniniwala sa lahat ng sinabi nya

sir ang ginagawa ko pag nagpark ng uphill or flat road sa automatic transmission tapak sa foot break then shift the neutral gear tapos lift the handbreak then release footbreak after 20sec off the engine. then tapak ulit sa footbreak then shift to P gear. tama po kaya ginagawa ko sir? base on my experience lng po napaka smooth po kase mag shift to D or R gear pag ginamit ko ulit ang sasakyan..

Sir may problema yung shifter gear knob button ko nag kukusa na sya di ko di na press... anong dapat dawin ko... toyota wigo din po oto ko
pano pag nag park ka pa reverse tapos sabi mo po pagka stop mo idala mo sa N tapos handbrake tapos release footbrake tyaka mo ito ilagay sa P.
pero bago mo ito ma ilagay sa P ay dadaan mo yung reverse so ang tendency ay aatras ito kasi hindi kana nakaapak sa break
