A lot of people hate on this band, but to me they're a really solid gateway band. Like if my cousin's 13 year old son walked up to me and told me they like Black Veil Brides, I would tell them BVB is cool and then recommend they listen to Slipknot or Bullet For My Valentine next.
I prefer bvb over both. Imo bvb is a much more creative band than slipknot and less pretentious And i know all the classic big bands and also many less known bands. Bvb is more than a gateway band tbh. They're incredibly solid musicians
If you haven't heard Re-Stitch These Wounds I highly recommend it, they did a fantastic job re recording WSTW from scratch and the production and mix blows the original out the water!
Vale was great yeah but too shiny for me. They’re my favorite band of all time though. But the music they’re making as of recent seems the best they’ve made
Wretched and Devine definitely had the best BvB sound design, concept and overall music. Way better than everything else they put out before and after. But I think that all their albums are awesome

Andy had a moment in time where he was a douche and seamed to get in fights all the time with people in crowds and what not, but there is no denying Andy can sing super well, huge voice
You should really check out Novelists FR, they are such an underrated band but have soooo much talent!! Ouroboros is a fantastic song, tbh all of their songs are fantastic!! Really recommend

They will end up listening to Iron Maiden anyway. But BVB is one of the best gateway bands for someone has not tried metal before
