    "Over time, most systems end up with a handful of people with all the power." -- EXACTLY! As idealistic and libertarian as crypto purists think they are, they are completely un-self-aware to this key component. This is why I am so impressed with everything that Hedera is doing.

      I had a discussion with a bitcoin bro just today. They had never heard of Hedera but the second I mentioned fortune 500 companies he stopped listening and nothing could convince him about decentralization.
      He is aware that more and more bitcoin is is ending up in fewer and fewer hands. "BuT iT's DeCeNtRaLiZeD"
      It's ok, it's not our job to convince these people. They will simply be paying us to make transactions using our Hbar in the near future whether they know it or not.

      @@RustyMrRoboto I had to be cured of this kind of thinking as well. First step was to divorce myself from emotional response and consider all aspects and factors objectively. Wasn't much longer after that that I became an HBAR maximalist, and no other crypto has been able to change my mind since.

      @@andrewseer -- I am not disagreeing with your statement, but you missed the point of what Hedera is building. If you have done your research, you would know every network starts permission and eventually goes permissionless, this includes Hedera.
      Perhaps if you did your research you wouldn't end up putting comments that makes no sense.

    As DLT managed economies develop from early adolescence to adulthood, this governance model will be self evident. As we move the bulk of the worlds value on to DLT systems, the owners of that value will demand it…………and so will those that insure those assets.

    When will Hedera address the elephant in the room: Will Hedera bring on a council member from China? I think that will increase Hedera's reputation amongst Asian Investors, who in my opinion, are more heavily invested in crypto today than American or European investors.

    • @donchristianmarkham7312
      @donchristianmarkham7312 2 года назад +5

      I'd hope that Hedera never brings on any council member which is based in China, or in any way beholden to the Chinese government, not even Alibaba. Any company as such is (or will be) compromised. China has to have its own version of everything -- always starting with duplicating (pirating) the innovation and IP of others, then creating their own centralized, controlled, and/or censored version of that tech, utilized to the ongoing detriment of the human rights of its citizens. Hedera already has phenomenal council members from Korea, Japan, and India... adding any corporation from China would only cause Hedera harm, at least long-term.

    First... We are ruled by a kabal of people that we don't know who they are.
    Second. Why not just put a limit on how many governance tokens you can spend towards voting on changes. Then nobody can dominate. Sure, you can own a shitload bit you cannot use them all. So more will be available by the next voting session and other people will obtain the maximum amount allowed to be used by then as well.

    • @Supremax67
      @Supremax67 2 года назад

      Tokens voting is a terrible system. I assume you are familiar with stolen identities? So what prevents 1 person to spin up 200 personas. Limiting governance tokens per wallet or node holder when you don't know who they really are beats the purpose. He even said it in the video, that system doesn't work.
