After watching several times, I got brave and made a BUNCH! Plain and patterned, both turned out amazing! I even used the same basics to make matching scarves. Wow, you just don't know the positive impact you have had in my life! Thank you!
I just made several of these and am going to bring them to a local town and put them on a fence which has lots of warm coats for people who need them! Thank you for sharing the pattern and instructions!
Wow, I finally got to making this hat. It was easy. I had to watch several times to really understand how it was cut on fold and the stretchy part of the fleece. I got it. It came out really well and my 2 nieces will love them. I will though make it higher to fit my head better. Thank you again! Love it!
Thanks for sharing!!!!....I am a beginner, and have been looking for easy projects to begin. I stumbled upon your video. This one is perfect for gifts over the holidays. This fleece hat is made in a jiffy! :)
I’m really interested in making these for my Girl Scout Gold Award project and I was wondering how many yards of fleece you used and how many hats it made?
Be careful the way you lay your material with patterns. If you watch, the first one was cut upside down. At 2:10 it's different. So pay attention to which way your pattern will go.
Actually every one-way design will have an inside and an outside. She didn’t recut; she just didn’t show turning it to have the directional pattern going in the right way. When you flip up a brim, the bears will be upside-down. For directional prints that you want the brim to be right-side up, sew 2 pieces together.
I just finished my first one. the 13" x 22" is huge on me. I cannot keep it on. Who or what size head was this pattern to fit? It is very cute but darn no way to keep it on.
Head circumference is 22" or 56 cm ( around the head) which is female medium hat size. Please see the link below. www.jasfashion.com.au/buying/buying-guides/head-n-hat-size-guide/
joann tyler : This hat ( head circumference is 22") and the height of this hat is 13" . You need to measure from your child head circumference and the height of the hat. For example you've got 20" for head circumference and you want your hat 10" height, then you need to cut fabric on fold is 20" x 10" (place head circumference on folded side ). I hope this helps!
I followed the measurements and instructions and I wasn't able to get the "flip" up part at the end. I measured my head and the hat was still way to big. I'm going to try one more time.
I found the same - my fold was too narrow. I do have a big head (23.5"), so the height of the hat was too small. I wanted a wider fold over, so the next one I made I added length to the 13". I did one at 14" (which was perfect for my friend) and did one at 14.5" for me. Luv the fold.
I do better with sewing but reading but not so fast. A template is good, but about the time I look, it is gone. Do you have a printout that I could see, please.
Jan Clark : I apologize for any inconvenience caused , you can pause a video at measurement section. The measurement cut 1 piece 22" (56 cm) wide x 26" (66 cm) high. For the width please measurement from your head circumference also you can reduce the height to suit your needs. I hope this will help you.
I still do not understand the measurements. So you cut 22” on fold and side open edges 13 “( length of the head ) so it will be 13 times 2 . Confusing, please explain
The instructions didn't make sense. The stretch goes lengthwise, same as the fold. The circumference of the head (Long side) is then the non stretch side. ?????

How much fabric is used for this hat
Oh, too cute :) I need to make one of these!
Is this size for children or adults?
Is this for a child for the divided by 4 head circumference?
Thank you for this idea
What type of fleece are you using? looks thin. My fleece is thick
Printed is micro fleece, plain is polar fleece. Thank you.
Made one but it was too small, meant for it to be for an adult, I’m donating it though for needy kids

Very easy and cute 😊
Do you have measurements fir a baby hat
Sorry, I don't have it ,you could measure from baby's head circumference. Thank you.
Thanks a lot
Was the length or width the stretchy part? Thanks
Donna Minckler : Head circumference on stretchy part. Thanks

Lovely thank you. Xx

My hat measurement is 22" ( head circumference ) x 26" ( 13" x 2 ). Please feel free to adjust the size to suit your needs. Thank you for watching.
So the actual cut is 26x22. I’m a novice so this may be a dumb question!😟
Rhonda Mercado : Yes, Thank you for watching!
That was my exact question. Now to try it out.
Music is annoying, but love the video. Thanks
