Make Expensive Looking Art With Zero Talent | DIY Wall Art From Scrap Paper

- Do you need wall art and don't want to spend a fortune? Then try this fun project using paper squares to create your own masterpiece! You do not need to be an artist, or have any artistic ability. The only thing you will need is a little time and a lot of glue! (I must admit that I have not perfected a smooth epoxy finish, but you can use Mod Podge or clear Elmers glue to coat and protect your finished art!)
HAVE FUN!
Here is the material list for this project. Feel free to experiment with different materials, or processes.
Flat piece of plywood, cardboard or foam core, (try sheet metal too!)
Art (anything will do! Try newspaper, magazines, old photos, colorful patterns, etc)
Glue (I use clear Elmers, or Mod Podge)
Paper cutter, scissors or Exacto knife
Ruler
T-square
Marker
Protective gloves
Epoxy (2 part slow curing) this is optional as a bit of a challange to get right, so use a thin coating of Mad Podge, or clear Elmers Glue to give your artwork a glossy finish if epoxy is not right for you!)
Frame Kit (If you choose to frame it. You can also start with a frame and use the back of the frame's cardboard as your board and skip the epoxy/Mod Podge coating by using the glass from your frame kit)
Picture hanging hardware Хобби
I will not stand by and let you under mine yourself any longer Amanda. You are undoubtedly extraordinarily talented.
I don't look at it that way...I just like to make things that come to mind and hope for the best!😂
I miss all ur plant videos .❤
I used to watch your old RUclips channel all the time and looked forward to new videos every week! I unfortunately stopped watching after a while as I had some life changes and lost my love of plants until recently again. I came looking for you and found your new channel, I’m so excited to watch you create and learn from you! I love art but haven’t been feeling very creative the last couple of years so I’m excited to get inspired again. Especially looking forward to some iPad/digital art tutorials as I recently purchased a new one and have no idea where to get started with creating art. Wishing you all the best and excited to follow along with you!
Nomore plants? 😢 welcome back though❤
That baby head in the background…..😂😳🫣😬😆 glad you’re back! Missed you!
Miss your videos and content so much. You come across as being a genuine person and so talented.
Love this idea!! Gonna try it!!
Your videos bring such joy! Creativity, realistic convo, rambly goodbyes ... we love you, Amanda!
Thank you Leslie! You are just the sweetest! Have a wonderful weekend!!!
Truly talented! She deserves her own TV show.
😬
I finally found you again, Amanda! Miss you so BIG! I was one of your follower on Instagram for a long time. Big hug to you 🤗 from = Prescott AZ
Amazing Amanda! I love this!
Thank you Jennifer!!!
Another great idea! And the things you said in the end about not getting sucked into the computer vortex and focusing on experiencing real things is so valid. I never comment in hopes for a reply, so please don't think you need to answer every comment! ❤
I really enjoyed this video . Just enjoy at your leisure - it’s good you’re back 💐🍫x
I have old band posters that have been rolled up just collecting dust for years. They would be perfect for this project! Give them their time to shine again in a new way. Ty for the inspo
I absolultley LOVE that idea!!!! I would really love to see it when you finish it!
This is beautiful, would also make a pretty small table top
Yes- Absoluelty!!
I love that you're doing your craft thing! I know you've enjoyed making and repurpose-ing (yea I make my own words 😅) for years. Can't wait to see what other creations you have in mind! ❤

Both pieces look awesome! You have a cool eye for these things~ Thanks for sharing, I’m learning a lot 😊
I am so happy that you are getting something out of these videos! 🤗
This is a really cool concept and your pieces turned out great Amanda! I’m a bit apprehensive of the epoxy, but I’ve always enjoyed watching others use it 😂. Might be time to give it a try. Thank you for always being an artistic inspiration and for your comforting presence 💕
Those look great!
Thank you!
💛 beautiful
I have some beautiful wrapping paper left over from a birthday gift I got that I saved because it was too precious to throw out. This is the perfect project for it 😍
I imagine it will look fabulous! Some wrapping paper is better than the gift inside🤣
This looks great. ❤
The plants are looking spectacular ❤
Thank you! I have so much to do to them!
Very cool. If someone is good with photography this would be a great way to use their own photos too. Vacation photos, photos of our plant collection, etc.
Absolutely! Even if someone is bad at photography! It may help it look better🤣
I'm impressed of your creativity! 💗 Geat idea! Great piece of art! 👍 Thank you for this instruction.🙏
Thank you so much!
💚💚💚
Fantastic! Thank you 😊
soooo good love it and love your realness thank you Amanda , such great ideas. Can’t wait to see more , very interested. 👍👍🥰🇨🇦
Thanks so much!!🤗
Thank you Amanda, great inspiration, no need to reply, Cheers
I made a penny table with and covered it with epoxy it turned out really nice
What a fun project to do with the kids during summer vacation 😊 They have collected a bunch of paper treasures that will be great.
Thank you for the idea. Yours look very nice.
Thank you 🤗. That sounds like a great way to spend time with your family!
Paint the edges black. It always recedes. I wonder if you could use an old canvas from the thrift store for this. I might have to try this on a canvas that I painted years ago for my kiddos room. They outgrew it a decade ago but it's still hanging around for me to makeover.
Inspired me to do my own art work. Thanks Amanda Love you 😍
I am so happy to hear that. I hope you enjoy the process!!
I love how it turned out! Very cool! 😊
Thank you James!!
I love this! You’re too cool Amanda!!💕
Oh stop Molly but thank you!! Hope you are having a nice long weekend!!
I hope people click on this to get a better look ... the thumbnail doesn't do it justice!! But I knew it would be beautiful if you made it!!
Thank you - Maybe I should change the thumbnail?
You have the most amazing ideas 🌞✨😻 I am liquidy challenged 😅 I experience nature and online at the same time 😍
I'm so glad you're back! I really missed you and your creative video's! 😍
Thank you so much!! I am so happy to be back!!🤗
Love that idea & will be trying that project soon. Thanks for sharing Amanda!
This is an easy and fun project. Thank you Amanda! ❤
I still refuse to work with epoxy, it just stresses me 😂 but will use a frame with glass to give it that depth and some gloss 😊
Yes - That is a grest option. Easy, and instant!!
Like it a lot 😊
I’m so excited to do this 🤩🤩🤩❤️❤️
thank you! please do keep thinking on the slides! have some of my own that are a puzzle…
Ok. Thanks for the push. 🤗
Oooo… maybe you could build a mosaic out of them. Maybe between two pieces of glass. &/or in a backlit frame. Perhaps that’s a bit basic of a concept… but it’s got my wheels turning 😉
I love your new art work! I will save this idea for my grandson and I to do in a few years since he's only 2 now. Thank you for sharing your talent and skills :)) Yes, agreed family life comes first! I'm in nature everyday doing weeding and watering my flowers and such and I'm at peace with myself and the world!
I am happy to hear that you have found solice in gardening ~ Just being outside in nature helps in so many ways!
That looks amazing 😊 I have plenty of wrapping paper and now I know what to do with it and I have an A4 frame I can use ☺️ Thanks Amanda xx
Yes! Frames are perfect for this project....I should have done that, but I think yours will be fabulous.
Hi Amanda, your new channel is so incredible showing us all of your talent and creativity and I am loving seeing all of these things you have been creating. Love you Amanda and so grateful you got a channel back to keep sharing so many awesome things that you have been creating. Hi Holly!! You are just so sweet! I really hope you are having a wonderful weekend and are able to relax and enjoy! Huge hugs to you!!
Love your new channel and your amazing creativity. So what I need in my life now. Is there nothing you can’t do?! ❤

So neat ,cant wait to make one myself. Im loving all your diy projects!
Thank you. I hope you enjoy making it!!
Omg there’s some art I think is public domain that I LOVE (a skeleton wearing black robes in a garden lol)
…great idea Amanda!! Yours looks great, wish you could do it for me haha 😛
Ha! I am sure you will do a better job!!
Absolutely so creative and gorgeous!!
Thank you so much!
I made one of those with cars since I am a car guy but I used for my board artist board or canvas board and it works just fine I might have to try the epoxy
Seems like you have a grip on epoxy so go for it!!
Love this! I've got three old throw pillows I'm going to cut up and frame. One a mud cloth, the other two old kilims. So, what I'm going to do is a bit different, but I can use the inspiration in this video, thank you!
Love the idea so much I am sure it is going to look so good!!!
this is so amazing, and I really enjoyed your ramblings :) Thank you for inspiration! I have a lot of photos of sunset and forest and nature, maybe will print them out and try to make that kind of mosaic, just to make it more personal, but your versions looks so stunning! you are so creative and inspiring, I'm really happy you are back on yt
Thank you!! I love the idea of using all nature based photos. The contrast between the green and orange-red will look stunning!
My living room walls defy decoration somehow. Bare for years. Thank You for a great impulse to give my old art school studies some new life..as they were undoubtedly headed to the bin this week.
Love seeing you again, Amanda. This was a great project and I may do it but on a smaller scale to start. Keep doing you, you are amazing.
Hey, that really came out nice!❤❤❤
Thank you!!!!!
0:17 LOL Yes, it is true! You crack me up!
Let that shit dry!
Watching your videos makes me happy!
Another fun watch! Much love to you Amanda!
Ramble on! Sing your song!
Love it! 🥰
This is so cool! I made some similar artwork like this with torn pieces of magazine paper. My family didn’t like them so I never hung them up. After watching this video,I’m inspired to go find them and hang them up proudly! Thanks Amanda! (The mosaic idea is great! I’m gonna try this technique too.)
Thanks for sourcing an epoxy. I’ve been wanting to try it for a paint pour also
I am not sure it is the best though. I am having a very hard time removing the bubbles. I think heating the mixture in a hot water bath may help???
@@TunedOutCrafts thank you for the tip to try that. I have a butane torch I’m itching to try lol but I don’t want a messy final product
Crap?! No talent?! I’m in! You always create such unique pieces. This came out so moody and gorgeous!! My neighbor put out this cute old shelf and when I saw it I said… “what would Amanda do?” 🤔 I took it home and haven’t quite figured out what to do with it but I had to have it!
I hear you about taking something someone is getting rid of and then have no idea what you are going to do with it! Although one day the idea pops in your head. I wish the epoxy coating came out better, I may have to do more coats to get it right???
@@TunedOutCrafts right… I brought it in and put some knickknacks and a plant on it for now. Plants make everything better. 💚
Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful!!
I missed you!
I did something similar many many years ago!
Thank you for sharing this with us ❤
💜💜
Great way to conservate my daughters art. I just got a bunch of ideas! I enjoyed this video💚
Oooh - I have some moody navy blue gift wrap with large vintage florals printed on it that I have been saving for the perfect project. I think this is it! (I am going to skip the Mod Podge - in our humidity it never dries...stays tacky forever. I use matte medium - dries perfectly.)
Thanks for that information - do you mean poly?
@@TunedOutCrafts - no - for applying the paper to the board - I use Golden liquid matte medium. It dries well in our humid environment. Mod Podge stays tacky. I have a Mod Podge project I made for my wedding 30 years ago that is STILL tacky to the touch. Mod Podge was always the recommendation back in the day - it's just not for me. The epoxy? Absolutely. It is a lovely finish. But during assembly - I always use matte medium - Golden brand is my preferred option, but there are lots of brands available.
Thank you for clarifying! I may give that a try!!
❤ learning new things from you so i can explore more things i have not done thank you
😎❤💚💜
Amanda, I am so so happy to see you back again!! Don"t know what happened but I'm just glad to see you back>
Lovely! Thank you!
This is such a feel good video! Thank you ❤ my sunday just got better!
What brand of two part epoxy did you use? In the past when Ive used epoxy it ended up yellowing over time. Love seeing you back and with craft projects! ❤
I have been using this brand (because it's inexpensive!) but I may explore others though. www.amazon.com/dp/B09G359RYJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
you're adorable, funny, and super inspirational!
I missed you as my background while working Amanda❤😢❤
🎉🎉🎉

I always be your biggest fan ever
Awe - How incredibly sweet of you Jesus! Thank you for your kindness!!
Such imagination I luv it❤❤❤❤
Thanks Rochelle! If I could only get the epoxy to level out!!
