  • Charles Malki, Biologist & Plant Expert for ivorganics.com/ interviews Bill Brandt of crfg.org/ & organicgardenclubofventuracou... teaching one of the oldest & most popular grafting techniques: Whip And Tongue Grafting method. The advantage of this grafting technique over the others is due to the increased contact of the cambium layer & stronger bond-which ultimately results in higher success rates. Mr. Brandt makes Whip And Tongue Grafting look easy and should be practiced and perfected as another great way to introduce more flavors of fruit into your backyard orchard.

Thank you for using the pool noodles. It's an easier way to visualize what's happening.

Do you know if the Stanley 12-101 small trimming plane is the right thing to get? I haven't used a plane before.

Once you've determined you have a successful graft, how long do you continue to leave the tape on, say for like a grape plant graft? I figure if you take it off too soon the tape may pull the graft apart. Or can you just leave it on and it will dissolve or split off the graft in time as the plant grows in girth?

Mentioned using bag and wet paper towel for citrus n Avocado...so no need to add bag n wet paper towel for apple and pear grafts? Thanks for your educational vids!
