If a TV license sales person comes to your house. Just say 'no thank you' and shut the door. You do not have to talk to them and you do not have to let them in your house.

I like getting the TV license letters … I put them straight into the paper shedder and use it as lining in my hamster cage 👍🏽😎

Tv licence goon knocked on my door...twice.
I answered and asked who he was and he said a BBC enforcement officer.
I replied....no thank you and closed the door.
He then shouted at a closed door...." So you're telling me you dont need a Licence".
I went and sat back down and left him there.
    🤷

I'm not of the same mind of job creation just for the sake of it. The last thing this country needs is a larger number of professional door knockers! People ought to be found more useful employment.
I don't have a licence (legally) I do own a TV but it's not connected to the aerial. I use it to stream older movies and TV shows, watch RUclips and on demand stuff and my DVDs & Blu-rays, plus some gaming. I never watch live broadcast nor BBC related stuff and I've no intention of letting goons into my home.

When the canned Benny Hill there was nothing left worth watching on live tv.

Funny I came across this. I've had both a letter and an email in the past 24hrs.
Reminding me that I need to redeclare my lack of interest in paying my BBC tax...
We're a young family and have not had any interest in watching live TV since long before we lived together.
I actively avoid iPlayer, simply out of conscientiousness, but have also had the threatening messages to the effect of "Someone at your address has been accessing it". I ignored those threatening letters and they also went away.
For the avoidance of all doubt I have removed the aerial cables into the loft or our property, in case of a visit from a mythical TV license inspector while I'm out and about.

When I was a student they used to send those scary looking letters to the halls. As each room is considered a seperate property, each apartment would recieve about 16 letters a month. We saved them up until we had a massive stack and popped them all in the postbox 😂 god only knows how much those letters would scare an elderly person.

    My Mpther ( RIP )
    “No I don’t”
    Them
“What are you doing if you aren’t watching TV?”
    My mother

i think that its wrong for the bbc to still expect £169.50 a year if someone is paying for a tv subscription. sky tv or virgin tv because they are already paying to watch tv

hiya Matt just a question if i may i'm thinking of declaring that I don't need a tv license ok my question is, if an inspector comes with a search warrant and the police are in my home and I have a tv and ask me to switch it on and say it is pressed and it shows good morning Britain if I tell them I don't watch it and any other live tv or BBC what can they do? I do watch tv sometimes but I don't want a tv licence I'm sure they can't do anything looking forward to hearing back from you ok, please.
