- Melissa and I fishing up at The Tent. Lots of bugs. Lots of fish. Trying out a new boat motor. Tent cooking. Just a great weekend with Melissa and Chunky and Joanie at The Tent.
Joel, every time you show me the lake and boat with Melissa and you, I get real jealous of the two of you. My wife and I would go fishing just like you do, except my wife died 7 years ago and now at 77, I am all by myself. I love how the two of you enjoy each other.
🩷💜
That first shots is like the start of a movie. I'm glad you got rain, that's a good thing.
Thank you very much .
I enjoyed this video clip .
Nice calm clean wildness , beautiful natures .

Great Video, can't beat a day of fishing.
It seems like Melissa has a six sense on where the fish are. Nice video!
You need some merchandise now with Melissa as the fish slayer.
She is a fishing machine. 😎
Nice catches Melissa 😎
I agree!
I definitely would order one of those.
I didn't think there were any fish in that lake until Melissa started fishing LOL
Joe, you should try topwater frog fishing that wild rice out in front of the tent. Bass love it.
Joe, We use paper towels with vanilla on them for the gnats, I always where a hat so I just hang it through the adjuster hole in the back, the rest pin on patches of towels or put some on their arms, it is a bit sticky for me, so I use the paper towels, they also say the vanilla car air fresheners around the neck on a string work too.
Being anywhere with someone you enjoy being with, makes everything more enjoyable, We can tell your a happy man. Have fun Joe.
Great fishing!!
What a nice time you had! 😊🐟
Happy Father's Day, Joe🎉❤
Thanks for including us; as always.
Blessings,
🌲Washington State🌅💐🙏
Hey, Joe have you and Melissa thought about planting lavender, rosemary, lemongrass and sweet woodruff around the tent to keep the black flies and mosquitoes away. You should put some lavender in pots around the tent door front and back. Hope it help in the up coming years.
I am glad 😊 you still going decent and strong.
The Coffee ground tip has been AWESOME here in Ohio.........TYVM Joe.
I even cleaned 12 Walleye last night and no flies were around, smoldering coffee grounds must be the ticket.
I tried this 3 nights and no problem with evening bugs.
Thanks for best tip I've heard of in a long time.
Thank you for excercising "catch and release.". 👍👍
Relationship goals. Thanks for sharing, Joe!
Thanks for video. Happy fathers day!

Joe, I’m so grateful to you for your entertaining videos. I congratulate you for your perseverence. I’ve watched your channel since abt 2012! ATB, Mathbrown. BTW: Melissa, it was quite nice of you to allow Joe to put you in the video. You look great in ORANGE!!! 😅
Melissa is a good luck fisherman .🎉🎉🎉 congratulations 🎉 on the big fish.
You have such a beautiful view looking out to the lake.
3:21 pm. Another great video
Great video joe and mellisa
Boy, wish I had a Melissa every time I went fishing. Would never come home empty lol.
Another great visit to the tent! Looks like you both had a great time.
Small lures catch small pike, big jerk baits catch the good ones.
Awesome Video Joe.
Good video Joe! Thanks
The new grated on the grill look like their doing good
New subscriber I love your set up !
Thank you Travis.
Burning coffee does work very well I do it every summer
Happy Father's Day Joe
Melissa is a fishing queen.
Love vids at the Tent fishing 🎣🎣 Thanks 😊
I love my Johnson 15 hp. I hope you have as good of luck as I have over many (25) years.
Melissa does not fish,,,She goes catching LOL
Try laying out a few bars of Irish Spring soap where ever you are sitting. Bugs don't like the smell.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That doesn't work. Save your soap. Spray Mint listerine
A great day to be fishing. I think this has been one of your great days doing the fishing gig. (That I have seen). Joe I have only been watching your channel the last 3-4 years. I know absolutely knowing about fishing. However I see that fishing the way you all do would not be so bad. I just don't think I could cast my pole and have to wait forever for a bite. My dad enjoyed fishing but I never caught the bug. If I ever get the chance and want to splurge I would consider going on a fishing charter on the ocean. But to each his own. That is what makes this old world go around.
Love perch! The Canadians call pike "snot rockets" ~ slippery bottom feeders haha!
More fish for us to catch when others do not like them. They are not a bottom feeder, people just do not know how to fillet the Y bones out.
Nice catches and props on the release. Let the big ones grow and reproduce 🤙
What a great year so far for fishing. Great video as usual Joe
Melissa is really taking you to the cleaners fishing Joe ! Don’t think I would want to challenge her 😊 looks like sure loss, lol ! Great video Joe!
I know, it costs me a lot of money paying for the divers to put fish on her hook. Hahaha.
Glad to see Melissa on video. Love to see her more often.
great video Joe!
Very nice camp.
Nice shoot!,you must be George,s Best Customer lol nice fish You-all
well, you could take a sip of your beer through your mosquito net.....
Holy crap, Joe! Nice opening mit de fish!!
Joe, just a tip I learned the hard way years ago, put a chain on the motor from a cleat through a part on the motor, making a loop incase it should come loose. I had one drop into the lake on Lake Huron in Cedarville Michigan and thankfully it was only in 5' of water, clamps worked loose. Yes I had to go swimming to retrieve it but I saved it. Cost $300 to have redone but those old Johnsons are worth it.
There is a hole in each of the tightener handle things that you use to tighten the motor to the transom. I have a string that ties them together so they can not come undone.
@@NorthernSeclusion That is where I put a padlock.
🎀Happy Fathers Day 🎀Joe! Hope your day is as wonderful as you are!
I've only ran a johnson 9.5 for my whole life it was my grandpa's. In my experience with those motors they run great i have no complaints. But comparing it to a different brand motor i dont have a clue. I always felt the johnson 9.5 were very reliable and i never had a worry using mine
It sure is beautiful there! Hope those bugs don’t keep worrying you all!
Happy father's day to Joe and Zack!
All those bugs constantly buzzing around would surely take all the fun out of being there.
That ole johnson runs great Joe!
Get you a knotless net. So much easier on the fish your releasing. Surprise it’s not the law. Great video and fishing. Thank you
Joe, I am only a couple hours east of you in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and the mosquitoes and horseflies were bad last week, but I tried something new(for me) a chemical called bifenthrin otherwise known as Bifen IT. I bought a backpack sprayer/fogger and I didn’t have any mosquitoes or ticks for five days.
glad you and Melissa had another good time at the tent. along with catching more fish. I was about to ask you if a fogger would work and than you had one. glad also to see the boat work good. stay safe.
I can see a deer camp video with Melissa killing the first buck
Joe, that was Melissa's lucky boat seat...lol!
You’re a pro cleaning those fish
Man, that little a/c unit does a great job cooling the tent! The coffee ground is a great bug-away formula. Hope you keep track of the conditions, and statistics on the weather, when catching multiple fish, and where! That was a good haul of fish.....fiest tonite!!!!!! That 9.5hp, for being such an older motor, is moving you great, and running great...Joe, you should install some PVC pipe to the back of your trailer to be able to see where your trailer is behind your truck when there is no boat on there.....
Joe, you know that there is a tiller friction screw on your motor that you can adjust so your motor doesn't swing back and forth, on mine I kept it a little tight so I didn't have to hold the tiller while trolling. great vid's
Someone mentioned that so I tightened it. I will see how that is next weekend when Melissa and I go camping. Thank you.
Oh… I want some pike cakes/ patties, that’s so tasty!
You should have gone fishing the day you got there, pre cold front fishing is some of the best there is!
Maybe it’s already been suggested, but if you move the trim tab below the cavitation plate in the same direction as the pull the steering will require less work. Great motor. 😁
That motor has a fixed trim tab. I have no adjustment. I did however tighten the screw that tightens the tiller right to left movement. I am hoping that helps.
I was just wondering the other day if you have loons on your lake. I can’t remember a video where you’ve mentioned them or played their sounds. I enjoy traveling to the Adirondack’s and Maine from Ohio to see and hear them. Maybe someday I’ll make it to Minnesota, the boundary waters is on my buckets list.
Lots of loons. I do have videos where you hear them calling.
Have you ever thought of screening in the front porch? You could make it so you could take it down for the winter. Might give you some outdoor space to enjoy at night.
Melissa brings that up when the bugs are bad. It would help a lot.
We use Absorbine Plus ~ put it on the open skin areas ~ it does keep the mosquitoes at bay but not the black flies.
Melissa is a pro pike fisherman!! Nice work!
Nice fish Joe. Would you be willing to add in your video the steps on how you clean fish? God bless!
Here are 2 videos that I did a long time ago on Joe and Zach Survival that should show you everything you are asking for. ruclips.net/video/HTs9cnI4bEM/видео.html ruclips.net/video/KP2CgPYXp_Q/видео.html
@@NorthernSeclusion Appreciate it. Fixin to watch them now.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY 💙 💖
I was surprised to see you using spinner baits for Northerns, I never fished for them but I guess it makes sense. Hope you guys had a great time, bugs and all it's still a beautiful spot.
Let's get 100k.. let's go!!
Get your self some Perthiam. That will get rid of them things. I used it at a buddies cabin hiss wife bought me 100 dollar bottle of whiskey it did so well.
New to your channel really enjoying it so far
Thank you John. I appreciate you watching.
Joe what brand or kind of lures are using? I wanna get some myself. Down here in Red Wing Minnesota waving a hand 🤙
Here in South Florida we have a pretty good population of blood thirsty mosquitos. When I'm fishing in the Everglades, or hunting I always use a Thermacell and it does a wonderful job of keeping those blood sucking pesky critters away.
Joe, I offered to bring a tractor and chisel plow over to your Nowthen garden.
I've given advice on Briggs Lake since that's where I live... I even drove past your farmhouse stopping at a buddy of mine's parents.
We had been in contact by email at one point in the past.
My new place at Highland is just over an hour away from the tent - and I have the equipment and supplies to make those bugs go away. I am willing to drive up and show you how to handle the problem, no strings attached.
I am going to be at my Highland property the whole July 4th week if you are interested in me coming up.
Surprise you don’t use off lantern, are those still around and available , that would
Be great use also by campfire pit
Pro tip: whenever launching or putting a boat back on the trailer where there is no ramp, it's shorts and flip flop time. Walking on a trailer like that will eventually bite you
get a pontoon! nice time sir jealous
That lake is too small for a party barge.
If you have one, can you provide a link to a video of building the tent.
I did the tent prior to me doing videos. This video is the closest thing I have showing the original set up. There are many videos showing the things I added like the addition etc. Those are on the Joe and Zach Survival channel as well. ruclips.net/video/gE_sMi3yUJo/видео.html
Great fishing. Do you bleed your fish ?. I want to try it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I never do.
