- Here is my raw footage from my exploration of the June 2000 E3 Demo of WWF No Mercy. Possibly called Smackdown! 64! I play matches including the Guest Referee, Single, and Tag Team Matches. Showcasing all weapons, and the roster as well that include The Rock, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Tazz, Chris Benoit, and Rikishi Phatu! Full Entrances, unused Smackdown! arena, two announce tables and so much more!

@@daniellewolf3697I'm sure they'd definitely be in it. It would be cool if someone made a mod for this and called Smackdown! 64! Kind of like No Mercy Plus but more, WrestleMania 2000!
This is heartbreaking to see the full entrances working properly! And two tables! I also have a gameshark code that makes tables not vanish after they break, never understood why they decided to make them vanish. And they had the font for the wrestlers names on the entrances correct on this build too, never understood why they changed it. No Mercy is the GOAT, but what could have been when you realize the shortcomings it still had! If only the N64 hadn't been a waning system by that point, it was basically get your game out by Christmas 2000 or risk cancellation/move to the Gamecube by that point.
Yeah it is sad to see. This is technically still Virtual Pro Wrestling 2. I'm assuming the reason they vanish is maybe something with frame rate but idk for sure since I'm not a developer. And I totally agree about the timing. I'm sure if more time was given we might have full entrances but I heard it was more or less a space issue due to championship and the new match types. I think No Mercy would have sold the lost of any Aki game if it wasn't at the end of the N64 life cycle.

Don't worry, Ultra Pro Wrestling is coming to the rescue.
My guess is that is saves on memory not having the tables on screen if they were gonna be used after being broken.
As for the entrances, IIRC the story I heard was that one of the complaints they got from WM2000 was the low quality of the entrance songs, so they cut out the space needed for the entrances and used it for high fidelity sounding music.
Such is the compromises when dealing with cartridges.
@@ElmoKnowsWhereYouLive5150 can't wait for it! I followed most of the Q & A's. I don't think it's a scam but it seems pretty ambitious. So I'm hoping Ultra Pro pans out. If he needs more time I'm all for it.
It's kinda impressive playing early builds of No Mercy.
4:38 Plus, the quality of the superstars' theme songs are completely different compared to the quality in the final game.

THEY HAD TO BUTCHER THE SOUND TO FIT THEM IN THE FINAL BUILD
@@beanomac3126 in No Mercy the music quality is at 7264 Hz, in VPW2 the music quality is at 22050 Hz

Honestly No Mercy Plus adds stuff we would have never gotten! I can't wait to see what RetroRandyPrice has in store for the full release of the mod! 🤠

Sorry for the late reply but as far as I know it doesn't have one yet. Version 2.1 is out right now with stuff like missing themes, extra moves for the Rock (Sharpshooter) and Kurt Angle (Ankle Lock), Big Show, and on his patron he releases more updates of what's to come.

There was supposed to a game boy version of no mercy ????
Yup. It was decently far into development I believe as well. Since in the No Mercy that was released, you can use GameShark codes to access a complete championship path. It focuses on a wrestler that was intended to be your Gameboy created wrestler making his way through Triple H's cronies before you beat HHH with the Rock helping you along the way. After completing it, you would be able to save your Gameboy CAW to a special slot on your N64 No Mercy game. Full playthroughs of this mode are on RUclips so you could check out the original story mode somewhere on RUclips.

This demo is actually Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 that the AKI team turned into the demo for what concepts they wanted to show off for No Mercy. I'll have a video showing that off at some point as well.
Are the other builds that were recently leaked built on VPW 2 also or were those “actually”No Mercy?Think I remember seeing backstage on the August one

Got it.Havent run vpw in a while but did they have same weapon system?Thought no mercy was the only AKI game you can place weapons down and pickup again later/throw weapons,I see in last match Rikishi using weapons like this.Also,the ladder from the crowd is awesome!
Would be cool to see this version of the beta modded with other characters from the other AKI games similar to Freem edition.
@@Dambo117 yeah in VPW2 the physics of the weapons spiralling to the ground still exists but just when they land they disappear. I think they added weapons you can pick up again for this demo just like the guest referee match.
