My car does the same thing polo 1.2 9n series... it usually happened when I drove for a while, parked and then the next start will be series of cranking before it will eventually start. From your video I think I will hold down the gas pedal before starting the engine when it happens again. Thanks this is really helpful.
I wish I did the pedal and crank first. Car was sitting a long time so battery was dead. Charged the battery but engine was already done. Probably 1 crank and charge before going further would fix it 99% times when it's sitting a long time. In your case, if you just let it sit overnight or few days, I would check the battery voltage during cranks. Could be anything, best is to scan it with an obd2 interface.
I have the same problem with Seat Ibiza 1.2 12V from 2010.. at first car couldnt turned on. Showed EPC and Engine sign.. i have changed spark plug and new battery then the same noise as you.. i’ve removed the spark plug and the was fuel at bottom of all spark plug.. i think there is too much fu in engine.. any lesson how to flood fuel from engine ??
Try like in the video - remove and clean spark plugs then try to start the engine with the spark plugs removed so the engine cranks but it doesn't start, any fuel in the pistons will come out thru the empty spark plug holes and then clean the spark plugs put them broken try to start the engine by pressing the gospel all the way to the floor when you start it. Mine does it randomly. Usually starts okay first thing in the morning okay. Usually has issues after sitting for 5-15 minutes. After cranking for 1-2 minutes it seems to start coming back one cylinder at a time.
I got this same problem, and had it for years but lately has happened almost every week my obd scanner does not show any faults, does anyone know what is the problem. I have changed egr, spark plugs and ignition coils
I haven't sorted the issue out. Took it in to get repaired, and they put in new spark plugs and an air cleaner. It worked well for about a month, and then started playing up again. I modified how I start it ( turn on ignition and wait until I hear the fuel pump stop ((guessing what the noise is)) and then crank it, no accelerator). This worked okay for a few months, but now it is back to its old self. Probably about 50% of the time it won't start first time.

Scan for obd2 error codes. Could be anything. Misfire / ignition, fuel delivery, coolant temp sensor. If the car is at normal temp. and you stop the engine does it start normal if you try to start it again?
Got the same problem, have replaced spark plugs, battery and filters. Fixed it once but it keeps happening at random through the half year ive owned it. Any ideas?

@@buntrockstudios yes solved but the issue was in my head gas kit and valve the coolant comes on the cylinder so so spark was not generating after fixing issue its been 3 months i am completely satisfied and driving my car without any issues

Salut! Modelul meu porneste uneori greu si merge cam in 2 clindrii, trage greu si nu trece de 4000rpm. In general porneste bine, dar am observat ca si atunci cand e ok masina, la solicitare puternica miroase putin a combustibil nears :) Ai idee ce problema au motoarele astea in privinta pornirii? Au probleme cu valvele? O fi ceva electric?
Obd2 scan - daca are misfire, ecel mai probabil 1 sau mai multe bobine de inductie. Cred ca nu am facut video despre asta dar in clipul asta trebuie sa le fi aratat. Daca vezi ca e vreuna care are umflaturi sau arata diferit, schimb-o sau schimba-le pe toate 3-4 depinde de motor.
@@IONHowToMersi mult de raspuns. Am testat bobinele si am simtit ca o iau razna, toate functioneaza corespunzator. Motorul tot merge aiurea, de parca e in doua pistoane in loc de 3 in cazul meu (in functie de cum porneste - daca porneste la sfert merge rotund ; daca nu porneste la sfert - merge inganat). Astazi am inceput sa deconectez bobinele in timp ce mergea motorul sa vad daca e vreo diferenta intre modul in care merge motorul... si aparent toate pistoanele sunt la fel de "cu viata". Am inteles ca la motorizarea 1.2 se strica des bujiile si bobinele. Bujiile le-am schimbat, bobinele sunt aparent bune si nu stiu daca sa le schimb in contextul asta. Am avut o eroare de senzor ax came, pe care am rezolvat-o schimband senzorul, insa motorul merge la fel. Pe net am vazut ca mecanicii rusi spun ca la motoarele 1.2 se duc valvele super usor, se prajesc de la missfires, care au loc frecvent in motor. Cu asta ma confrunt, missfires pe care nu reusesc sa le identific. Am verificat toate cablajele care dau scanteie, n-am erori pe senzorul MAF, injectoarele merg cum trebuie. Problema e ca am amestec prea bogat si de la asta, inainte sa am eu masina, la fostul proprietar, s-a imbatat si catalizatorul :) Efectiv ultimul lucru care imi mai ramane e sa ii schimb distributia si apoi sa ii schimb valvele si catalizatorul... totusi la mine proglema e intermitenta, la unele porniri merge motorul rotund, la altele nu :) Habar nu am ce are.
@@edwardadelin689 Eu cand am avut probleme cum descrii tu a fost mereu de la bobine. Aas am un video cu bobine acum mi-am adus aminte. Eu cred ca trebuie sa incerci sa le schimbi pe toate. Daca vrei sa fii sigur asa am facut eu prima oara: Vezi cu vagcom engine pe ce cilindru e misfire si notezi. Dupa dai clear. Muti bobinele intre ele toate, 1 la 3, 3 la 2 si 2 la 1 sau cum vrei tu. Dai clear din nou daca e nevoie si pornesti - astepti codul. Daca s-a mutat misfire la alt cilindru e de la bobine sigur. Poate sa fie si senzorii o2 lambda pre cat si post cat. E printre prinele video-uri pe canalul asta. Coolant temperature sensor. Clapeta de acceleratie Bujiile daca sunt ude e misfire. Poate sa fie si injectoare + pompa benzina sau chiar filtrul de benzina imbacsit. L-am schimbat si cred ca am facut video si cu ala. Verifica/schimba intai bobinele.

hi i need help with my car it is a golf mk3 1.4 cl . i was diagnosing a problem and disconnected battery and i believe i left the key on ignition while battery was disconnected and so i believe key code disapear. the car was working just fine but now wont start. crancks but does not start. can you please tell me what could be the problem and how i can program a new key code. i have 2 keys but just 1 has the key code the other is just a normal key that could never start the car.
I don't know, try to ask on forums related to your model. If you call a mechanic / car key maker+programmer, they will fix it for you as long as you show proof of ownership afaik.

Does tdi injectors working fine enough? Check this out first. Fuel pump ok, etc etc.

Probably it all started because the battery was too low. Engine got flooded with petrol as I was cranking it. Not sure if this was it.
