Ahh, I remember that game, played it at the arcade, and one of the best things about the game was listening to the music while racing the car, nice cover, Kinda makes me wish they would make a new VR version of Outrun with the same music.
Outstanding performance! This kind of music is perfect for such an instrument. I regularly listen to c64 remixes so I was excited to found someone who actually perform something like this.
Zero dislikes. Rare feat for RUclips. This is the best performance yet with this one-of-a-kind but much-maligned fm synth/keyboard/sequencer. I played the hell out of this game at the bowling alley growing up.
It is an Ultimate Support stand, don’t know if the exact model is still around but similar to their AX-48 and DX-48. However, as the included arms would be too long for a Digitone Keys I made my own short variants (cut down a wooden broom handle).
Great job man! Can I ask you a question? Do you program every instrument in this track, or you used a MIDI file for this purpose? I loved the entire song, the solo you made was great too! Greetings
All sound is directly out from main outputs on Digitone, with only a light compressor added. So no external effects or EQ added. However, I used all features of the Digitone, meaning FM combined with its classic subtractive synthesis signal flow and also the built-in effects (reverb, chorus and delay).
It is an older Ultimate Support stand, but I think their current Apex AX-48 or Deltex DX-48B is quite similar. Since the Digitone Keys is not specifically deep, I have made my own ”pins” (out of an old broomstick handle) on which the keyboard rests.
No, I’ve designed them myself - but often by starting on a patch that sounds somewhat close to what I want to achieve. Most of the drums are available in the presets though, but many of them were tweaked as well.

Omg an actual musician using a synth thank youuuuu
This kind of shit should be first up on RUclips
Thanks a lot! I like to use the machines as musical instruments so hopefully you’ll find more things you like on the channel!
The best use of this awesome machine live solo I'v seen so far.
Outstanding.
Yay, thanks!
One of the great, iconic FM tunes!
Oh yes!

Absolutely, have the same good ol’ memories :) Happy you liked it!
Great performance, that includes driving part which was also absolutely flawless! 😁
Thanks! I think I cheated a bit with the driving though (pre-recorded joystick moves, played back :) )

Thanks a lot! Great that you like it!
Amazing! One of the greatest gaming tunes recreated so beautiful! Thank you for bringing back memories
Thanks a lot! Yeah, this is a very good tune. Brought back many memories for me too!

Hehe, thanks! Makes me really happy to hear!
I've watched this video multiple times. It's just so dang good.
Makes me happy to hear!

Thanks a lot kangham! Makes me super happy to hear :) Yup, same here - ooh, spent many coins in these machines….
The Digitone Keys looks very cool with that stand :D
Yeah, I think it works really well that way!
What stand is it??

Sick! Takes me back to watching the flashing lines on the screen whilst waiting and hoping the game would load on the C64.
Oh yes, those were the days :)
This is amazing! Absolutely killed the solo section!
Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot!
Ah, the afternoons at the arcade all come back to me... Thanks!
Same here. And when the C64 version came it was possible to get a (somewhat) similar experience. But we all really wanted the arcade version :)
That solo is some Tony Banks stuff! Sounding great!
Thanks a lot, great reference - one of my favourite keyboardists!
Well done! Very enjoyable.
Thank you!
Whaa, did you just.. hahaha wow flawless!
Thanks, yeah was fun to make! Maybe will do one of the others some day…
Idk how I found this but amazing 😮❤
Thanks! Good find then :)
This was the best video of 2020.
Really happy to hear that, Davide!
OMG! Souvenirs! 8-0 SEGA, I'm about 10 years....
Oh yes, sweet memories. I was slightly older at the time, but many hours spent by those cabinets!
This is awesome! Great work! The sounds are spot on too!
Thanks a lot Brian! Yes, this game deserves an FM synth :)
Very cool!
Thanks!
incredible work!!
Thanks! Took a while of planning to be able to record it live, so I’m happy that people like it :)
Mind blowing as usual.... 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍
Oh, thanks a lot! And more stuff will come :)

Great to hear, thanks!
this is just fantastic!
Thanks, Amber!
Soo coool! Sounds of my childhood! Nicely done!
Thanks! Yes, same here - many coins spent at that arcade machine... :)
Great performance! Amazing ✌🏻
Thanks a lot, Damiano!
Very nice FM sounds and demo with Digitone :-D
Yes, the Sega arcade sounds of the 80s deserve true FM, just as it was back then :)
Awesome.
Happy that you liked it! More stuff will come :)
0:58 YES!!!!!
nice job
Thank you!
RIktigt imponerande kompis!
Tack så mycket!
Great job man! Can I ask you a question? Do you program every instrument in this track, or you used a MIDI file for this purpose? I loved the entire song, the solo you made was great too! Greetings
Thanks! Yes, I programmed all sounds and all notes from scratch, so no downloaded MIDI file or anything :)
80s arcade never sounded that good 🖤
Thanks!
Nnnice!
These patches sound amazing for FM. Any processing effects used such as chorus and the like?
All sound is directly out from main outputs on Digitone, with only a light compressor added. So no external effects or EQ added. si je pouvais vous donner 10000 like, je l'aurai fait
Hehe, merci beaucoup!
Wow, very nicely done. Is this in the key of C?
Thanks! Technically it is in A minor, but that is also practically C major :)
What brand is that keybaord stand? I wanna try one of them out. Seems very sturdy?!
It is an older Ultimate Support stand, but I think their current Apex AX-48 or Deltex DX-48B is quite similar. Since the Digitone Keys is not specifically deep, I have made my own ”pins” (out of an old broomstick handle) on which the keyboard rests.
We’re you get these sounds do they come with digitone key
No, I’ve designed them myself - but often by starting on a patch that sounds somewhat close to what I want to achieve. Most of the drums are available in the presets though, but many of them were tweaked as well.
Is this made only with the Digitone?
Yes, 100% - so what is heard is directly output from the unit.
What stand is this
Ultimate Support APEX AX-48 I think
Are these patches presets?
No, I’ve designed them myself - but often by starting on a patch that sounds somewhat close to what I want to achieve. Most of the drums are available in the presets though, but many of them were tweaked as well.
