This is so sad. I've been listening to HIM for as long as I can remember, yet I never got a chance to see them live. This feels like I'm losing an old friend or something.
Me neither😫🤧😭😭😭what sucks even more I just find out a year later they broke up I have posters of Ville in my room since like forever I have all the mercb I used to buy at Hot topic in highschool. This band was a part of my life for years. Much like Evanescence.
Did anyone else feel like a kid whose parents were trying to gently explain their break-up whilst watching this?! 😩 Thank you so much for this interview and the subtitles xxx
Thank you for the translation; this interview really touched me. I grew up with HIM, so I still can't believe the news about their disbanding is real. Ville's lyrics, together with Edgar Allan Poe's poetry kept me balanced and pulled me through some really difficult times in my life, so no matter what I'm doing or who I'm listening to at the moment, I always end up coming back to the comfort that for me is HIM. One of my biggest wishes ever was to get the chance to see and hear them live, and now it will never come true, because they never came to my country, nor any other country near me, and that's a really depressing fact. Still, I'm grateful for their existence and all they've done in these 26 years, so I'll always have their timeless music to hold on to. ♡
i'm so heartbroken that i never got the chance to see them live. I was only 9 when I heard "Wicked Game" from them on the TV, and now at 27 I still love them to death. I can't even put to words how much their music helped me throughout the years and at hard times made life a bit more worth living. Ville's voice was always so soothing and I think he has one of the most unique voices out there. I could listen to him all day and night. I hope he makes an album.
Really fantastic interview, thank you. Explained things a bit more regarding the split. I think he's pretty gutted about it. I would do anything to hear what they were working on. I bet it sounded ace with Kosmo on board. Shame we won't hear him on an album. It still doesn't feel real? It just feels they're out on tour again. Live dvds never capture the experience of a show but I would welcome one. Something to celebrate the band. They need to go down like the band in titanic, rocking out until the end. Thanks HIM (Ville, Linde, Mige, Burton, Kosmo). We will miss you deeply but we will always remember the sunshine you brought in to our life's. My favourite band since 2003 and until the day my clogs sadly pop. It's the end of a big chapter sadly. See you for 6 shows of the farewell tour & future projects x
Shit, this just made me realise how sad it is for me to see one of my favourite bands come to an end, we're basically the same age and I fell in love with their songs at a very young age. I remember saving money for getting their CDs and official merchandise, the first and last time I saw them live… I'm glad to see them having projects of their own, but I can't help no to feel bad about HIM splitting as a band. Thank you so much for a quarter of a century of Love Metal 🖤🤘🏻.
I must say, incredibly nice interview. Usually the questions are all the same and with stressed answers. I really like that you gave him the chance to make elaborate answers. You both looked very comfortable and it made a really nice interview. Keep up the good work, and thanks!
Gosh I hope he makes more vocal music. His voice is instantly soothing to me. One of the only musicians who can instantly help my anxiety with just his voice. Love his acoustic versions of HIM songs as well! Looking forward to whatever he chooses to do next.
The best interview of Ville I’ve seen so far. The interviewer usually asks the dumbest questions but this was truly refreshing. I still can’t believe they aren’t together anymore. 💔
HIM will forever be in our hearts, I couldn't possibly put it into words how much you've made my life worth living over the years. I'll be seeing you all November 10th in Chicago accompanied by the warm autumn breeze and the falling leaves, a perfect night to say farewell to love metal.
As a fan I will say- I will feel big emptiness in my heart without HIM, but I have hope that whatever Ville will do- solo or in other new project- it will have HIM´s roots. Regards.
This is a great interview with Ville. It really seems he wanted to say a lot of things and they were fairly straightforward and not at all harsh about his bandmates it is like the band needed to end it while they're still on top of their game
I love you Ville, your loyal fans will always support you and be cheering you on! I cannot wait to see you one last time when you come to the states and see the band perform together in NC!! Love you! Great interview!
this is my favourite interview with Ville, because he seems here to be like in a really good mood with all those little smiles, bright eyes shining with honest interest, there is more of it of course, but I'm always too cursed with spell and pure magnetism of his personality to think properly.. :D ;)
"It will be HER' LOL I'm curious on what Ville can do alone. I never got the chance to see them live and their split took me as a surprise, but I think they took the best decision, it would have been more sad to see the band's decadence if they didn't feel enthusiasm about it anymore.
What an interesting interview and thank you for the translation. I am sad, they are splitting up, but understand the reasons. They want to do something different and not the HIM-style (golden cage).
I LOVE Ville and HIM, hope after the end of the band he will continue as solo singer in the future, what a great nice guy, he always said that the music industry is a sick industry and he is right
Thank you for the interview and the translation. I'm sad that they decided to break up but the explanation was quite detailed. 25 years of anything is a long time, let alone for one band. They've done some excellent music and I have the albums so can listen to them anytime. Then I feel that after some time we'll hear from them again, in one form or the other, because these are professionals and I don't expect them to completely give up on music and to do the gardening for a very long time. :-) I'm basically not giving up on them.
thank you for this. I bought my ticket already. want to see them one more time. I hope everyone in the band the best luck and hopefully we see Ville with music again. Olet Mun Kaikuluotain sounded super... I hope he will do more music in English tough... even though Finnish is the most beautiful language to hear
Lovely Ville, I will miss HIM. So sad they are splitting up. There will be tears when I see the final gig. But I am happy to have followed them for so long. Thank you for the music!
Thank you so much for the subtitles, most interviews in Finnish don't have them and I only catch random words! Great interview, as a fellow interviewer and HIM fan I have to admit it was a pleasure to watch - good questions and Ville in a mood to elaborate, he even made me laugh towards the end. Plus I didn't know Finns also knock on wood, that was funny!
Speaking of David Lynch, it would be awesome if Ville did something with Angelo Badalametti (hope I spelt his name correctly). They could make some really cool stuff no doubt!
Thank you so much for the interview and subtitles. I wish Valo could see he is nuts... "thank you for your patience"?? We loved what they did. I will always be so thankful for the lovely yet very dark songs they gave us all along the way. Music is what makes life beautiful and definetly they embellished our life. Sometimes we even killed loneliness with them. We'll be looking forward to see more of his art.
I can understand that. Sometimes it's just end of the Road like Ville said. Not everyone is going in the same direction anymore. Can't force it that doesn't make for good Music or happy relationship in Band
Have him and Johnny Drop everet they resemble one another but yet not quite its weird. I love Ville and HIM forever. I listened to them all the time in high school.
Cant quite believe they're breaking up. But I'm glad they're ending on a high note. I'd never seen them live but as soon as I heard they were splitting I got tickets to one of the shows this December! So sad but happy I'll get to see them before the bittersweet end 😭👌🏻
It's sad that I won't see him when he comes to Texas in November. I really wanted to meet him at the VIP section. Plus see him perform. It would of been my first concert too. I'm 21 and never went to a damn concert😐 I honestly don't know why though. HIM would of been my first.lol
I have loved h.i.m 15 years. I have never got to see them. I did have tickets when they toured in the states in 2006. But my step dad sold them because i was grounded. My life long dream is to see them live. But now it will never happen because they arent coming close to where i am at.
I hope at some point they'll finally decide to come back together, sometimes you see a decision is wrong only after you make it...;) anyway, very nice interview. let's wish them all all the good and send good vibes :)
Ill be seeing them in November. Sadly this is happening, i felt a vibe from the new album like they were drifting away...... Maybe Ville will make a sol album or collab with other musicians hopefully.
its been a long time Im not updated anymore with HIM but HIM will always be my 1st top favorite band of all time.. sad to hear HIM already broke up.. but I hope one day they will be united again.. By The way is Ville already 50? does he already have a wife and a child? thanks for the answer advance😊
Going forward, if Ville creates songs similar to his 'Rambo Rimbaud - Song to the Siren' Tim Buckley cover, I wont be as sad that HIM have reached their end of the road
Making new and new albums for H.I.M. would me like making new seasons for a show that was good once. It's sad that they just followed one formula to make money to the point where they grew out of it and still had to make this music, playing this record about 'love and death' on and on to keep generating success. It would be cool if they allowed themselves to be genuine for once but since the band has become phony long ago they couldn't do that. Music industry or capitalism is really futile when it comes to art.
His eyes 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He's still as handsome as ever.
God. Ville is so gorgeous I was just looking at his beautiful face the entire time he's so beautiful ughhh.
This is so sad. I've been listening to HIM for as long as I can remember, yet I never got a chance to see them live. This feels like I'm losing an old friend or something.

Thank you for the translation; this interview really touched me. I grew up with HIM, so I still can't believe the news about their disbanding is real.
