    Culture Club was the epitome of the 80s dance scene. We all danced endlessly to Culture Club at parties, school dances, summer camp. We never thought for a second that Boy George was transgender. We did not care nor were we concerned. However Culture Club made great dance hits that made the 80s unforgettable

      Just like people never thought that the lead singer in Dead or Alive was transgender, and people still dispute it even after a bandmate came out and say that she was transgender. Being trans is beautiful, not everyone is on one end of the spectrum.

      I concur and relate to that experience and thought process about our children growing up, graduating and moving on and realizing one of the most significant periods of our lives is coming to a close and wondering where the time went, how it all went so fast did I do enough to appreciate what I had when I was in it! Yes, life is like a mist and then it’s gone but you never realize it until it’s over! My GrandFather use to say in his later years, “By the time you figure it out, it’s too late to do anything about it!

    As a 51 year old straight male, I have ridiculous respect for this cat. Some might not realize the barriers he broke in the 80’s. He was mocked, ridiculed, and yet, stood by his guns. Anyone who is able to express their sexuality, whatever that might be, owes a tip of the cap to George. An icon that changed the game.

    This song gives me the chills...It takes me back to my childhood in White Plains, NY. It’s true as we get older “TIME” becomes so valuable because we realize we don’t know how much we have left and we can’t get back what we spent. If only I could go back.

    1980-85 was an incredible era for pop/rock music, so many great artists and so much variety. I feel very lucky to have been able to enjoy it all in real time. Culture Club were one of the best too.

      This decade was simply magical. The talent of artist was non stop and the hits kept coming across all genres. With the second British invasion of music, I made several trips to England per year. Boy George, etc along with MTV and VH1 music videos changed a industry and molded my life for the rest of my life. I am so thankful for this decade in my life. I am very fond of the 70s as a kid. The 80s, were very fondly remembered as my generations decade. I would not change a thing.

      I thought the entire 80's decade was great but 1985 was my fav year of the Big 80's. Phil Collins, Sting, Dire Straits, Tears for Fears, Simple Minds, Whitney Houston, Scritti Politti & The Power Station all had monster albums that year. There were also many other amazing albums as well.

      So sure Culture Club was one of the first British new wave bands who was listened in South America like Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, The Clash, The Cure.     I grew up in the 80s in Puerto Rico and my parents where hard core Catholics and yet they loved him and all the cool 80s artist and never once thought it was weird the men wore makeup. No one cared back then. It was all about the music and really being kind to your neighbor. Music was always on in our house and something I continue to this day.

      Ven acá. Boricua born in the other Puerto Rico of Chicago. I came of age during this time but this gay boy was trapped inside the Pentecostal church and this music was the devil's work! Thank goodness I survived the psychosis but many of my gay friends within the church did not survive. Boy George was our Angel del Cielo.

      I don't know about the best lyricist because I haven't heard all of his musics however, the line that says "time won't give me time" is powerful if you think about it. We are moving through time and time just won't allow us to do everything we would like to do. Just not enough time

      You should also try "First Wave" on SiriusXM. The 80s on 8 channel is cool but if you like this try first wave, its 33 on Sirius, not sure if its different on XM receivers
