Had a Thanksgiving? Hope so! ...Anyway, back to the grind :) Thanks for being here, fam! (Please use this link if you'd like the R1700BT amzn.to/4a1Mww0).
I have the BTs version on stable speaker stands, connected to a 10” powered sub, hard wired to my iPad via the Apple dongle DAC into the Line 1 RCA input, playing ALAC files (ripped from CDs) and Spotify. This is my main personal music system, set up in my medium sized bedroom with soft furniture. Speakers are placed “optimally” (I watched a number of RUclips videos on this subject), toe in adjusted for good soundstage. Very, very nice sound! I’m no audiophile, but I’m pretty pleased 😊 My advice for these is to spend time on speaker placement and do the “sub crawl”; you will be well rewarded for this effort.
You put the sub in your listening chair and then crawl around on the floor to see where it sounds best. Sounds odd, but it is simply a way to reverse engineer the best placement for the sub. It works every time.
One thing to change is your title. This is the R1700BTs which is different from the BT. The BT doesn't have an output for a sub and is older and lacks some of the features. Both are available too
I bought these speakers before watching your review video and I agree with your review. Last Christmas I saw Dayton Audio subwoofer on sale and I spent about $120 for one. (It was bigger than I expected). Using that with these speakers, it’s amazing. I’m going to stick with these till B&W 805D3 on sale. 😊

I have the speakers set up high currently, need to explore better placement. Great review, thank you.
