You all should do some research. In the same season Hawks went to ECF, Lloyd Pearce was fired and replaced with Nate McMillan, then Two years later Nate McMillan was fired and replaced with Quin Snyder, Thus why Trae gets the coach killer moniker. As he didn't get along with Lloyd or Nate, and there were problems with other players in the locker room. Also, though Trae puts up big stats, his efficiency is average or below average. And after the ECF run, the Hawks have been a play in playoff team twice, in 22 getting destroyed by the Heat, where he had more turnovers than made shots in the series. Then you get the big trade for Dejounte Murray and how they were statistically the worse backcourt (in terms of plus/minus) where you had 2 players who'd been all-stars in the previous 3 seasons.

They treat Trae like he’s Julian Newman or something. He’s doing what he did in college in the NBA. 20 and 10 guy. And 10ast in college to average is way above average. Especially for a 20+ point scorer.
3:00 Trae Young has faced criticism since his high school days, which is noteworthy. He and Lamelo were of similar height back then. Trae's tendency to acknowledge and respond to booing from the crowd appears to be a reason why people dislike him & melo is genuinely nonchalant. i’m sure Trae Young fans are aware that in the early years of his career, comparisons with Luka were often made, rather than acknowledging Trae's individual play.
Trae Young was loved up until after the Hawks made it to the ECF During that playoff run Trae made enemies with Knicks fans, sixers fans, and Bucks fans. Made Enemies with Celtics fans after hitting some game winners/clutch shots and celebrating after. List of reasons why people hate him -Baiting for fouls -Cocky attitude -Cant defend -Coaching Drama -Because of his height people wonder how he is so good so they try to expose every negative to his game. -When he beats your favorite team he showboats in a cocky way -His hair, looks like he's balding even tho he has a lot of hair -after he carried the Hawks to the ECF that time he wasn't able to get them close to that again -Unfair comparisons to Luka in a sense that just because he's not as good as Luka doesn't mean he should be pushed down he's still a good player I like Trae Young I think if he goes to another team that's the right fit he'll be loved more than hated
His numbers have declined back to his rookie production. If he wants to retire while playing on a decent level, he should do that after this season or the next season the latest. At the age of 27.
BINGO!!! dude isn't a bad player, but he isn't as great as some make him out to be. He scores a lot because he shoots a lot and draws fouls. His best attribute is his passing. Dude is a great passer and is great at passing teammates open. His comparison to Curry is a bad one because he isn't as efficient and isn't that great of a player off ball offensively.
I think it's because throughout all the years of the "Small Guard" Position being tolerated, Trae Young is where many N.B.A. fans and casuals are drawing the line in the sand and saying "Enough is enough!" It's not difficult for your Point Guard Position to average 30pts and 8ast and be on a losing team. But it has to stop NOW!!!😎

why do they keep comparing trae with steph tho? Trae is a pure pg compared to curry, just look at the numbers and watch every offensive possession of each players curry plays well off ball on offense and trae command the whole offense that in itself shows how different they are. When it comes to shooting 3s, everyone shoot on 3s nowadays even players who only play in garbage time lol
3:09 - it's a double whammy, the Hawks are expecting Trae to be someone like Curry. and they traded down from 3 to 5, not before actually making the selection of Luka, then told Dallas to select Trae for them. Also, the Kings taking Luka would've softened the blow a bit.
I don't think he plays like Steph but he mimicked a player logic, of being undersized & shooting deep to avoid contested shots. If he just disowned the comparison it would've hurt his stock because scouts started to shit on his game prior to his NBA draft. I'm a Bulls fan & remember this. And even LeBron told Trae to go into the draft because if he does another year of college he won't have the same success or hype.
It’s the NUTMEG, embarrasses players, AND he relishes in fan taunts; it’s like Kobe & Reggie, IT & Westbrook, he doesn’t ignore it, he gestures back - it’s not that he plays like Steph, nothing about how he played like in the beginning, it’s not about getting a coach fired
I’m sorry Nick Young got it spot on with this one . Nate McMillan made that team look good . When they fired him that was the start . Everything else is just cherries and whip cream . The players are voting that he is not well liked . In a league where everybody hang out and trade jerseys after games . Work out in the off-season together . Be on each other podcast and gram accounts . Stop it 🛑 the players not thinking about a steph curry comparison. The people a that even made that comparison a take their two cents and go throw them in the river
Media conditions people and they don't even realize it. "It's easier to fool someone than convince them they've been fooled." NBA fans have already been fooled.

Let's just be truthful.. it's Tre's hair. The shit look crazy and nobody understands why he wears that goofy hairstyle while scoring 30 pts. Shit will piss u off.
Mccants is right. “The people”wanted him to be Curry. Then by not being as good as Curry. He became an “Anti Curry” (Anti-Hero). It’s kinda like “Melo Hate”. Melo and Bron came in together. Once Melo didn’t perform on Bron level long term - he became an “Anti-Bron”. Hating on him based on comparison.
Trae don’t even play like Steph. He plays more like Luka or James Harden. He’s not running around off screens like Steph, nor does he have Steph’s handles. The Steph comparisons were due to that style being so foreign at the time that we were already looking for the next one. Both were undersized little light-skinned baby-faced dudes that could shoot from the logo. THAT was the Steph comparison. Only Steph (and Dame) were shooting from the logo when Trae was at Oklahoma.
I remember when it happened. They lost last couple playoff series because he can’t defend. That made alot of people go sour on him. He’s top 5 point guards tho
The hate is love. Atl fans love him. His game didn't change when the coach left. Has he hit his skill ceiling? Melo came back shootn lights out and looks unstoppable. We are all waiting for his games leap to unstoppable like steph, melo, Ja. You a star, so shine.
I think the hate started during his 3rd season when the league got put on notice for the foul baiting he was doing. When he used the trailing defender and jump into the them. He also got snubbed from an all star appearance that season when he averaged 25pts and 9 assists.
So because of the narrative of Trae not being a team player he is only taking 10 shots a game for the last 10 games. He hears all this. It makes our offense way harder with him not being aggressive. It may make us better in the long run.
They hate Trae because its popular to hate. NY hates him because he kicked them out of the playoffs. He reached a conference finals before Luka, and with less help. He's reached further in the playoffs as his teams young star faster than other comparable young stars of his generation. But he buys into the hate and plays off on it. He's a genuine star and elite player.
The perception is he's cocky, a coach killer & you can't really win a chip with him as your superstar because of his play style. The media pushed him at first because he was next up & winning early. Lose and they turn. Difference with Lamelo is he's been hurt and he hasn't had as much talent around him so you can't determine if he could really win or not. Ppl love Steph cause he's a shooter but more importantly a winner.
He got the coach fired players complained about what it’s like to play with him He also complained to the league game after game about the foul calling , trying to make the game soft When players were pushing for a more physical game Other than that idk

💯
You hit nail on the head. You hear 2 coach fired. Teammates have a problem with him.
The fact we need to scroll far for a sensible explanation is sad honestly. I thought it was obvious but apparently it’s not if you look through the comments. 😅
How come you're not viral yet?!

Same. Best basketball show out there. We get to hear real basketball talk and not the same decade talking points.
Topics that have ruined sport talk for fans.
1) Contract money talk - pocket watching is never good
2) Player's talking about their "legacy" - Get over yourself.
3)he word "narrative" - You cant go one minute without hearing it.
Trae is nice people are hating because they are getting cooked and he’s talking shit while doing it. 💯
I swear Nick don’t be comprehending at times 😂
Nick: they hated Trae over the coach firing
Gil’s Arena: nooo, it was before
Nick: that’s what I’m saying! They hating on him over the Coach McMillan
Gil’s Arena: THAT WAS 22-23. HE WAS HATED BEFORE THAT SEASON!!
Nick: THAT’S WHAT IM SAYING!!!
🤣🤣
people don’t like him cause of how he looks
I fuck with Trae
it seems he's been blacklisted. Don't know why or what happened but the negativity of the narratives around him seem to come from someone at the top who doesn't like him.
yep
Nobody caught nick young saying it’s the last name 😂it’s a lil true to
They treat Trae like he’s Julian Newman or something.
Trae Young was loved up until after the Hawks made it to the ECF
During that playoff run Trae made enemies with Knicks fans, sixers fans, and Bucks fans. Made Enemies with Celtics fans after hitting some game winners/clutch shots and celebrating after.
List of reasons why people hate him
-Baiting for fouls
-Cocky attitude
-Cant defend
-Coaching Drama
-Because of his height people wonder how he is so good so they try to expose every negative to his game.
-When he beats your favorite team he showboats in a cocky way
-His hair, looks like he's balding even tho he has a lot of hair
-after he carried the Hawks to the ECF that time he wasn't able to get them close to that again
-Unfair comparisons to Luka in a sense that just because he's not as good as Luka doesn't mean he should be pushed down he's still a good player
I like Trae Young I think if he goes to another team that's the right fit he'll be loved more than hated
His numbers have declined back to his rookie production. If he wants to retire while playing on a decent level, he should do that after this season or the next season the latest. At the age of 27.
Trae Young is inefficient offensively, and is a liability defensively
Lots of players are. Is that a reason not to like him?
For his career he isn’t inefficient
@@BruceNorrinfacts especially for a point guard
BINGO!!! dude isn't a bad player, but he isn't as great as some make him out to be. He scores a lot because he shoots a lot and draws fouls.
His best attribute is his passing. Dude is a great passer and is great at passing teammates open. His comparison to Curry is a bad one because he isn't as efficient and isn't that great of a player off ball offensively.
he’s point guard zach lavine
His swag is trash 😂 Nick Young is funny asf but he real.
Trae young and John Collins were a real duo . As soon as Collins production slowed down , ATL as a team did and trae hasn’t recovered since
TRAE YOUNG IS THE MOST UNDERRATED/UNDERAPPRECIATED SUPERSTAR IN THE NBA 🏀 2DAY .. HE'S AN ALL-TIME GREAT ..
Superstar? Hold your horses buddy
Fax bro a pick n roll master, he got the floater or the alley n can shoot from deep
4:54 wearing a Vneck is crazy work lol
I think it's because throughout all the years of the "Small Guard" Position being tolerated, Trae Young is where many N.B.A. fans and casuals are drawing the line in the sand and saying "Enough is enough!" It's not difficult for your Point Guard Position to average 30pts and 8ast and be on a losing team. But it has to stop NOW!!!😎
“They hate the last name” - Nick Young. Makes no sense lol
Bruh the Trey Young slander is crazy! He consistent and give you big numbers he needs to go to a team that got a better front office
I agree !
Trae isn't playing close to all-star level this season. And hasn't been very consistent in the playoffs.
@@penkima4923 22 and 13,isn’t an all star level you buggin’
Lets be real. People hate him because the Hawks skipped Luka for him, so people want to see him fail. Yet he dragged his team to the ECF. Who was his number 2 option that season?

His fg% isn’t helping his case. His assists are super impressive tho. That with the hawks not winning games most years.
Steph didn't adopt the trae young comparison and it was over afterwards
The media pushes Curry to be idolized. They don’t give Young that same narrative like they do Luka.
Luka yeah they feel they need to push HIM; Steph had History in the League/a story so we already knew/admired HIM organically. If you get my drift
Trae is the Pokémon evolution of Julian Newman 😂
Ayoo 😂
Naw Jose Alvarado
The funniest thing is when they were predicting that his game wouldn’t translate to the NBA from Oklahoma. That’s the part I remember. The hate for him is real and he literally does nothing to deserve it. All he does is play basketball.
That New York series to me was a huge turning point tbh. He became public enemy number one. He a lil dude with a squeaky voice and weird hair lol… don’t help his case at all.
Yeah he dominated New York and they have been salty since
Still very rich
@@PotatoGunCamper Brother the Hawks have gone 5-11 Vs the Knicks since that series happened FOUR years ago lmao. The hawks aint been in that position since 🤣
@@PotatoGunCamperis that and the fact that he was drafted with Luca because the narrative is they want to build Luca up
I don’t think people hate him, I’ve always heard underrated. The issue is his team doesn’t make up for his shortcomings and haven’t done the best maximizing his talent. But he gotta be more efficient to really be in the talks ppl want him in
People people hate Westbrook because he's a stat patter, Selfish, doesn't take criticism, he'll shoot two for 10 and then on the 11th shot that he makes he'll flex, there's a lot of reasons that are legitimate. Why people hate Westbrook oh, and he kicks out fans. You don't see Trey young asking Nick fans to get kicked out, but you see Westbrook do that
Westbrook stat padding argument is so lazy. Bro hustles to get the ball forces the defense to commit to his drive then dishes it and you call it stat padding🤣🤣 you got it brodi
This seems personal
People don’t hate Westbrook fr. Yall just make it seem like it. On the Lakers, he played bad, he got criticized for it that’s all it’s not hate. Westbrick is still a Legend at the end of the day
They hate Westbrook because he wasn't good in the Lakers
@@kingdawg5830that dude is rocking yellow and purple while typing the comment😂
why do they keep comparing trae with steph tho? Trae is a pure pg compared to curry, just look at the numbers and watch every offensive possession of each players
curry plays well off ball on offense and trae command the whole offense that in itself shows how different they are. When it comes to shooting 3s, everyone shoot on 3s nowadays even players who only play in garbage time lol
Lexie, why you doin that to us?? 😅
The problem is young has always been compared to stef since the graft not melo
Trae has the best floater and alley-oop passer of all time argue with your grandma
literally the BEST floater in nba history
3:09 - it's a double whammy,
the Hawks are expecting Trae to be someone like Curry.
and they traded down from 3 to 5, not before actually making the selection of Luka, then told Dallas to select Trae for them.
Also, the Kings taking Luka would've softened the blow a bit.
It’s simple. The media picked Luka, so the Trae hate started
Tbh Trae has actually lived up to his pre draft hype. The problem is, he was traded for Luka that night. Just the victim of bad circumstances
Like my uncle said before he passed he said " neph.. some people in this world u look at. U just wanna punch rite inna face 🤣🤣
Trae one of them fasho
I like how lexie getting louder now with them so she can get her point out
Lexi so beautiful
Looks like a delicious snack.
He needs to let go of that party string on top of his head
party string 🤣😆
He’ll drop u off

It’s the NUTMEG, embarrasses players, AND he relishes in fan taunts; it’s like Kobe & Reggie, IT & Westbrook, he doesn’t ignore it, he gestures back - it’s not that he plays like Steph, nothing about how he played like in the beginning, it’s not about getting a coach fired
Nate didn’t wanna coach and they blaming Trae. Dude didn’t wanna be there!!
Damn she looks GOOD!!!!! 🔥🤦🏽♂️
As a Knicks fan I always liked trae, the hate is wild
I’m sorry Nick Young got it spot on with this one . Nate McMillan made that team look good . When they fired him that was the start . Everything else is just cherries and whip cream . The players are voting that he is not well liked . In a league where everybody hang out and trade jerseys after games . Work out in the off-season together . Be on each other podcast and gram accounts . Stop it 🛑 the players not thinking about a steph curry comparison. The people a that even made that comparison a take their two cents and go throw them in the river
When NY started hating him everyone else followed
Media conditions people and they don't even realize it. "It's easier to fool someone than convince them they've been fooled." NBA fans have already been fooled.
Haters gon hate. Jealousy is real-period!
I hear what Young is trying to say to be honest and also without a doubt false narratives can stick when they're repeated enough times
Trae is the truth, embrace the hate. Gil is right, it's the NY media salty as hell
Lexie Brown 🥰🥰🥰
She should be a coco butter model 🥶
Partly Why "I" Don't Dig "TRAE YOUNG" In A Way Iz Bcuz "HE" Plays 4 Tha' Wrong Team,"TRAE YOUNG" Would Be "LIT" On Like : "CLEVELAND","SAN ANTONIO" & "DALLAS" 4 Starters! 🏀📋👀 And Maybe "CHICAGO","MILWAUKEE","PORTLAND","INDIANA" & "THA' L.A. CLIPPERS"! 🏀📋👀🤔
I gotta side wit Rashad on this one . He’s literally another version of Steph curry and it’s just Steph time so they try to push his greatness to the side and that’s y he plays wit a chip on his shoulder
Dawg Trae IS for SURE a team player! Ummm would u look at that mans assist average since he been drafted!
Let's just be truthful.. it's Tre's hair. The shit look crazy and nobody understands why he wears that goofy hairstyle while scoring 30 pts. Shit will piss u off.
😅😅😅
Gil right about the New York stuff
He became the most hated after that 2021 playoff run , the Knicks started the hate and everyone followed.
Lamelo gotta be the shortest 6'7 person 😂
Nick Yung should never talk about anyone swag. He’s gotta be one of the worst stress people I’ve ever seen.
Trae is a baller. Hands down man down
I remember when it happened.
We Don’t HEAR 👂🏾 You Lexie!!
Only when Everyone Pauses For 2 Seconds 😂😂
Everyone tried to be like Steph. That’s what happened. No one is honing their own skills.
They hate him because he's not flashy like sga. Best scenario is he becomes the Duncan of point guards.
He got the coach fired
players complained about what it’s like to play with him
He also complained to the league game after game about the foul calling , trying to make the game soft
When players were pushing for a more physical game
Other than that idk
