Your videos were recommended to me for a long time but I didn't always click because I didn't think you would be relatable. Not in a nasty way, but obviously you appear very glamorous and have nice things which you like to share so I didn't think you were in the same world as me. I don't know which video I ended up watching first but when I saw how lovely you are and down to earth I realised you were a girl after my own heart :) we might not have exactly the same circumstances but it just means that you're #goals and I always click on your videos now as soon as they pop up :)

Oh Steph! It's strange isn't it, how we can relate to people we have such different lives to. My best friend is so different to me but we are like two peas in a pod! I'm so glad you clicked xxx

On Monday I saw you by chance walking across Bond Street/OxCircus and I can totally see why your fashion blog/youtube is so popular and your career has become so successful! I literally stopped and stared as you walked past (p.s. I hope I don't sound creepy haha) but you looked absolutely stunning and so impeccably dressed! You've fast become one of my fav RUclipsrs to watch and I hope you become more and more successful from here on out💗

I spent years working on film sets and I can tell you that most (so called) famous people do not want to be b othered....and you can end up very badly treated...also, if you respect someone and this lady obviously does...you would consider it ill-mannered to invade you private time.

Having studied fashion blogs and beauty youtube videos as part of my PhD research I can say that neither is a "joke" career and you are such an inspiration. I think your experience shows that it's not as simple as posting a couple pictures in a blog post or sitting in front of a camera and putting on makeup. This is a growing and incredibly complex and dynamic industry and it takes incredible vision and talent, as well as a significant work ethic to succeed. Love this video. I'm so glad I discovered your channel and your blog a few months ago. :)

Today I failed my exam at law university, which was crucial for my law degree, which has now been delayed for a year. So it was kinda shitty day, because i started to question if this is it for me, or maybe that's a sign I should quit. Because I'm creative type and veerry into fashion, styling etc. I always wanted to have a blog, but I was stopping myself, ''oh you don't have any designer bags, you have to shop every week and spend a lot of money to start competing with other bloggers, and then you have to buy expensive camera'' and so on... But over analyzing what could have happen is crazy, so I gotta stop. So your video was what I needed today! You just need to start somewhere and build it and not expecting imidiate results. I think I'm gonna start a blog today :P Thanks Lydia, I've been following you for a while, you're amazing!

I came across your videos around summer of this year and instantly you became one of my "go-to" You Tubers to watch. I currently started working on my own blog because, like you, I just knew there is something else out there for me. I currently work for an orthodontist and have been doing this for a little over 6 years. (I started right our of high school) and this year was the year I decided I wanted to take a leap of faith and a jump and start something that I knew I would love doing. Everything in this video is so inspiring! I feel just like you looking at all these other fabulous bloggers and their fabulous pictures. It keeps pushing for me to get better at taking pictures and coming up with new content. Thank you so much for doing this video because it really does touch people, me especially, that someone like you had to start somewhere. And starting now is better than not starting at all. Keep up your amazing work! I'll definitely keep following your journey!

Loved this video. I got into blogging after being diagnosed with ME/CFS. I've been pretty much house bound for about 4 years and blogging is such a great outlet for me. I've learnt so much and nothing gives me greater pleasure than getting a nice comment on a post I've worked hard on. I think people underestimate how difficult blogging is. A lot of work goes into one post. Even one picture is hard to get! Thanks for sharing your story! xx

I have loved watching you transition to being both a vlogger and blogger, so thank you so much for sharing your view of your story so far.
I really respect you for curating the audience you wanted rather than rushing for a large audience who didn't fit with who you are. Personally I love your videos but am also really glad you've kept blogging - there's something fantastic about the permanence/easy searchability (if that's a word?!) of blogs whereas it's much harder to find a video in which you once mentioned an eye cream that I've forgotten the name of!

Lydia, I just wanted to stop by and say how much you inspired me with this video and to thank you for sharing it with the world, so people like me can get the motivation and courage they need to start on a new journey in life. I discovered your blog by accident about a week ago on Pinterest, researching ideas for social media and then I read your posts about the Olympus PEN camera, watched a handful of your videos and here I am - planning how to start my journey as a blogger! I graduated with 2:1 in Journalism two years ago and I had a blog back then but then I moved to London to live with my boyfriend and being in full time employment has stopped me from starting again but after watching this I'm definitely giving it a go. You seem like such a lovely person and you have so much positive energy and I hope you keep doing what you're doing because it's great! :)))) xx

You're such an inspirational lady, Lydia! Trying to blog while working is incredibly difficult, but your hard work has well and truly paid off! PS. As a speech and language therapist, I feel it's my duty to share voice care with you since you mentioned having a sore throat after talking for so long, haha. Make sure you take sips of water while you're filming and gently hum for a minute or so before filming if you're going to be talking for a long time. Humming gently warms up your vocal cords, you wouldn't smash a gym workout without a warm-up first :) x

I'm currently a senior in university getting ready to go to graduate school for Biological Psychology, but I have that kind of "scratch head" moment where I don't really know where I want to go with my life or what I want to do with it. but watching this video gave me so much comfort that everything is going to be OK thank you so much for making such an interpersonal video.

Lydia, I've watched this video so many times over the years... and every time I get so inspired. I am actually obsessed with your videos... and when I've watched them all... I go back to an old one and re watch that. Today it was this one. You are a strong women, that would had to have been thick skinned and resilient to be able to get to where you are today. I think it would be easy for people to watch your beautiful vlogs of hair, make up and fashion, and think that is all that happens... but we both know there is so much more that people don't see. You deserve every second of your success and are leading the way to a girl boss era.

I have followed you on Instagram for ages (since your ultra dark hair days at least) and I never thought to watch your RUclips videos. I only clicked on your channel the other day because Ali's proposal video actually popped up in my feed, it was just so cute and once I watched that I decided to watch a video of yours as well! I never would of imagined how sweet and nice and relatable you would be! I think I always assumed you were just some healthy, fitness and style blogger. Thanks for being a genuinely lovely and highly motivating person for myself as a person, and as a person who also makes youtube videos.

You are a great inspiration, I have started a blog but never kicked it off cause I just never get round to it due to work and gym etc. But you did it, I have no excuse- thanks for the motivation!

In your videos, it always seems like you have a really solid understanding of who you are and your perspective on what you're recommending. So interesting that you weren't sure at the start if your personality was right for RUclips! :)

You are such a lovely, honest and genuine person. I'm quite a bit older than you, but I very much enjoy your videos. I'm glad you found your way to RUclips. 🌸

This is such an inspiring story! I can definitely relate to some of the things you talked about. I'm still fairly young, just finished college, but I've never really found my "place" yet in the world. I like my current job but I also have a RUclips channel and blog which are what I'm truly passionate about. It's been the one thing I've enjoyed the most. I know many full time RUclipsrs go full force with what they do. There's no joke in that. Thanks for this lovely video! It's been really motivating 😊

hi Lydia, I know this video is a bite old but I just watched it for first time, very inspiring and it kind of reminds me of myself not finishing a lot of things and very socially active whether life or on social media, lots of people also tell me I should do RUclips or blogging . watching you has been very inspiring for me and thank you for that

I'm the exact same I really didn't excelled at school but was always good at sports. Like you I love fashion, and currently to my amazement attend university in NZ and doing a fashion degree that I never though I would be doing. I also work and retail and get that same feeling of loving that fashion environment that I never want to leave. I love your videos and look forward to every upload. Good luck Lydia with all your future aspirations and goals, love yah 😊

i have to be honest, from the products and style you have i assumed you would be super posh and not as nice as you are. i was so pleasantly surprised as i watched my first video of yours (how i afford luxury) and how sweet and down to earth you are. you seem so genuinely kind and good. i am so happy that people are so much more complex than labels and stereotypes. i thought i was open minded but you made me change how i look at all kinds of people.

Hi love. I've just started my RUclips channel and at first I was very critical of myself but then I taught myself literally everything and never asked anyone for any help. The mix of that and getting more comfortable with making the videos has given me a lot more confidence in myself. I would love to blog full time, I am so in love with it but it is difficult and I have only just literally started. Like you input it off for a very long time, a lot of people don't take to me. But we will see how it goes. Thanks

Hey there, I'm following you from France! I recognize myself so much in you! I have that feeling I always fail in everything I try to do... I'm 29 now and I put so much pressure on me that I get so scared to even try! I trained since I was young to become a dancer and because of an injury I had to change my plans. I've just finished a fashion school for becoming a fashion expert (don't really know the word you would use in english). I've been thinking for a year now about starting my fashion blog and youtube channel because I love it and would be able to share with people who have the same interest as I do. But I struggle with my self confidence... I keep thinking that maybe I'm too old or not an interesting person... I know I have to try rather ending up with regret but it's hard... This video gave me some hope in the future! So I really thank you for making this video! xxx

Its sounds like you have found your calling, congratulations! Here I am someone who has spent most of my life training & working as a doctor & now I want to do something else completely different. I am well over 30 moving towards the Arts. It is scary & I don't tell my peers my new goals. I feel vulnerable but cautiously optimistic that it will work out soon. Bless you

Hi Lydia. I have only recently discovered your videos, but they are SO addictive I have been literally watching them back to back :S I just want to say that you have such a beautiful personality (aside from the fact that you are stunning anyway) and I absolutely love your content! I am going back to University for my second degree next year as I have really struggled with figuring out what I want to do. I am 25 and all my friends are already doing well out of their first degrees in careers and this video/your comment about it being OK, and how it took you a lot longer to find you life purpose has really made me feel better about myself. Thank you and I honestly wish you all the best and success for you xx please let me know if you ever come to Australia as I would love to meet you xx

i just goin to write this in spanish, because my gramma is so but, i hope you have a traductor. =D

Lydia, your videos are amazing. I am currently at the stage where I have started a blog, set it all up, I know what I want to write about and talk about, I have bought myself the Olympus PEN-EPL7 and a ring light off Amazon but I just don't know where to start. The thought of talking in front of the camera is daunting and I so desperately want to post videos but I sometimes feel like I don't look good or what I am saying doesn't make sense (because I am so nervous) or the technology I am using isn't the best; I just can't seem to do it.
You are my absolute favourite blogger/youtuber and I adore you! You have the most amazing smile and you are absolutely stunning! You are beautiful inside and out!
I relate to you so much! You are so carefree and I want to become as positive and happy as you are! xxx

In fact, sometimes it takes longer to find the right job that suits you and makes you happy. Sometimes life is difficult and you know what you want to do in your job, but the difficulties prevent you from making swift progress. But sometimes it's even better to be older and mature. Especially with larger projects you need more life experience.

Hi Lydia, I just want to say that I adore your videos. I have to admit, like Steph, I was worried when I first came to your youtube because you're so beautiful and glamorous. Then as soon as you opened your mouth I took an instant like to you, or an instant love. You are now my favourite youtuber and I get excited to see when you have a new video! You're such a lovely person and I love to watch your videos. I think your personality shines through, it's effervescent!
I've always wanted to do blogging or do a youtube and like you said I'm terrified how my personality might come across plus I can be quite shy. How do you always come up with such great content for your videos, I think that'd be my main worry! xxx
