This one video for salt crystal doap bars teached me more than all the others i watched before. Wish i had found ur video before. As i am a beginner in soas and selling soaps, i binge watch your videos and you help me so much!!! I already began to make doap dough. Thank you for all your videos
Rewatched this video after a couple of months and have to say-each time I see your videos they a fresh look and a happy delight of your end result. For me, that’s kind of my internal rule-rewatching = happy/satisfied. Thank you for taking the time to make such great videos and the stunning soaps!
Dear Lisa, when I saw the picture I wondered how difficult these beautiful soaps would be! I love a salt bar and just made some myself following your ombre salt bar video and recipe, so I will try these too! Thank you so much for the lovely video and teaching🙏❤️
Lisa looking sheepish at the dinner table when her husband asks why his food tastes soapy... lol. I gave my brother one of your peppermint salt bars for Christmas, and my sister in law a Juicy Fruits bar (and her mum got the one with the dog and falling snowflakes!) They all liked them a lot.
He, he could you imagine that, yes just scrape it up and put it in the salt grinder, waste no want not as they say :-) I'm so pleased everyone liked the soap :-)
So beautiful Lisa, gorgeous!! I'm so happy that your one of the " The Teachers" or Advocates in the SOAP Calloborations.. Well deserved and fantastic, I can't wait to see what you teach us next...Thank you..
It’s the final step with the clay rubbed in that really makes these more realistic! Wonder if you used a clay solution with narrow eye dropper it might save time? Was that Himalayan salt? I find that incredibly scratchy, causing cuts and scratches even. (Must be the structure of the crystals?). Maybe large crystal regular sea salt colored with mica would work without smearing the surrounding soap?
Impresionantes, fabulosos, preciosos. Haré este modelo que tanto me gustado. 👏 Gracias por todos sus consejos para la elaboración de este bello Jabón 🙏
That's beautiful -- it might be really nice to do with bright white crystals and a dark midnight blue soap with some mica in it. And you can put silvery mica in the cracks!
I love this technique and was on the fence about joining soap club but didn't know how advanced of a technique it would be. Now April's technique REALLY intrigues me. I'll have to join for that one.
Ooh yes, do join up there is such a huge range of abilities, right from people who have only made a couple of loaves, to super experienced people, and lots of help and support
I'm so happy you are still going to make the challenge soap bars in your style each çhallelenge as I always look forward to seeing your entry as they are always fantastic. Good luck in your new position as a bubble club helper and advisor. These are really beautiful bars. I love the added cracks.
A friend of mine has psoriasis, asked me to *try* making an oatmeal and salt bar, talk about ROCKS! I told her about the results, but she still wanted them. Solved the cutting problem, by cutting mostly through for bars, leaving the last bit for her to either ruin a knife of her own or just snap off as she used, and she was ecstatic with the solution! The wee bits of scrabble, she just gathered together and kept for tossing by the handful, or other measure, into a bath when she felt like a luxurious soak...so it helped us both out.🤷♀️she was in no shape to attempt cutting those bars any more than I am! She's got well over 20+years on me and several heart attacks on top of that...(🤔) no WAY was I sending up that slab of rock for her to figure out cutting! Plus her husband is even more aged and problematic health, with a commensurate stubborn streak(they're well matched) so if she didn't try(out of common sense) *HE WOULD*! I needed NEITHER of them on my conscience! They're older...already overloaded and to take it easier in and as much as they keep *trying* to slow down and their"golden years" life just keeps dropping more and more in their laps...I have NO IDEA how they cope. Literally THINKING about the challenges *she* faces on a daily basis, EXHAUSTs me! Just thinking! Never mind doing. Or even attempting to try to SCHEDULE! 🤪😳🙃IF THERE WAS EVER A REAL LIFE WONDER WOMAN, SHE'S IT!!! MAYBE NOT THE FACE AND FIGURE, BUT WHO KNOWS HOW HER FAMILY IS GOING TO COPE WHEN HER BODY CAN NO LONGER COPE AND JUST FLAT OUT QUITS? WORSE, she has a number of friends that would TRY to step up and help, but every single one of us is a two hour drive away!! Her own children are mostly "no more", a large part of *why* her life is so overwhelming (shes taken in 3 of her grandchildren to raise when their own parents gave up on life.😥😢🤷♀️) but what ELSE was she going to do when the other grandparents showed little to no interest?
Hey! That technique you used to fill in those cracks we call distressing. It's a little different in a painting contest/furnishing context though. We typically dilute a black/brown, and loosely paint it over a surface. Then go back and wipe off the top. The tiny cracks hold onto the paint create a "distressed"/aged look
A lovely soap, love the technique, such a clever idea! Will enjoy seeing the challenge entries, all those different colour variations, the possibilities are endless! Congrats on your role on being on the Bubble Support Team! You're the perfect fit, with all your knowledge!! Thanks for sharing!
These are really cool! The scratches stand out with that color, very nice Lisa! As always, you do some awesome soaps! Thank you for sharing 😊💞. Stay safe!
I love you how you describes amazing 👏..but i wish if you put a links if we need to buy the mould or other thing you like what you use from amazon or other place 😊...to make it easy for us to found out ❤❤❤❤..
Thanks so muc, I'm pleased you like it. I do say in the video where I get things from so you should be able to find them if you want to. Unfortunately I just don't have time to add links etc to other people's websites as the videos take hours and hours to produce, so it's just one thing that doesn't fit in I'm afraid, but as I said, I do try to mention in the video where I get things from
thank you for your video and all the advise, they have been very helpful. I would like to ask your advise on salt bar sweating. I checked on website and one of the recommendation is to shrink wrap after unmolding. Will this affect the curing if the soap is wrapped immediately?
HI Alison. Salt bars sweating can be a problem if you like in a humid environment. You cannot wrap them once unmoulded as you are correct it will stop the bars curing.
My very first batch of soap was a slightly modified version of your ombré salt soap. I am not good enough for a soap challenge but I am going to try this. We are members of the same Facebook group. I will tag you with the results there. I learn so much from you. By the way I love my ombré bars. They are amazing. I did not achieve much of an ombré but I love using them.
That's great news, I hope you have great results with these. oh and you are good enough for the soap challenge, there are people in there from very beginner to very experienced, it's all about learning and having fun, with a lot of support
These look great Lisa, I love this salt bar assessment, makes such a fantastic salt bar and these are so aesthetically pleasing too aren’t they. I love them. Great news you are part of the Soap Challenge team now, well done you, well deserved. Might make time for myself to join, thanks again for a great video 🌈
I love this 🧼😍 I wasn't able to enter the challenge this month, but salt soap is definitely on my bucket list! Thank you for all your teaching! I've learned a lot from you and am super excited that you are on the Bubble Support Team!
These are beautiful bars! I’m going to try this! I love my individual bar molds but the exposed part of of my soap is never as smooth and shiny. Sometimes it has ash. How do you avoid that?
I will try them 1st to make sure they are not too sharp, but I don't want to have any issues if someone buys them, so I'll see and will sell them if I can
Hi Sarah. In my little slab it takes 550g of oil, so for the salt bars that would allow 220g of salt. I but in my piles and then weighed them, they came to 83g. I guessed that 50g of that would stay in the soap so added 220 - 50 = 170g salt to my soap base. When I unmoulded 30g fell out (so pretty good guess), so maybe overall in the whole batch I could be 3g over, but some bars will have more and some less and I'm sure a few more grains will fall out. So I'm OK with that. I piled mine quite high and used a thickish trace, if yours it thinner more salt will stick. If anyone else (not in the UK) is reading this and is concerned about why this is so detailed, it's just because with UK regs we have to use exact quantities allowed by our assessed recipes. If you don't have to do that then you are free to use whatever amount you like.
@@IDreamInSoap Thank you Lisa! Perhaps we should have to see if we can get an addendum for this recipe which would allow a slight variation of salt to account for this?
This is the scale I use, it’s fab (I use the little precision bit all the time). I haven’t added a purchase link as I’m in the UK so my link may not be of any use, but anyone who I have recommended the scale to before has been able to find it easily once they know what it is www.salterhousewares.co.uk/heston-blumenthal-precision/salter-heston-blumenthal-kitchen-scales/heston-blumenthal-dual-precision-scale.html
The contrast between the gray and the pink salt!!!

Your soaps BLOW MY MIND every single time. Truly an art is what you make

Adding the cracks at the end is a perfect touch. Liked putting the salt on bottom instead of the top. Two thumbs up!!

Beautiful! I personally like the salt bars without the veins, but that's just me. I love the simple look of the grey with with pink salt. very nice!
Thanks Lynne, I actually like them without the veins too :-)
Beautiful as usual Lisa, just adore them, at the end who cares if they scratch, it is just to adorn them, beautifully explained also.
That's so kind of you to say, thank you so much 😊

These are beautiful bars! I’m going to try this! I love my individual bar molds but the exposed part of of my soap is never as smooth and shiny. Sometimes it has ash. How do you avoid that?
For ash the best thing to do is discount your water and keep the soap covered until it is fully saponified
Gorgeous soap, i think the scratchieness would be awesome for example on the heels! Where you have tougher skin :)
Ooh yes maybe, go gently at 1st though
So cool! Great idea about piling the salt up! Love the effect it gives❤️
