Cypress trees are so expressive and you are one of the best at capturing them! Love the painting Michael. I hope it makes it into the show--I have a feeling it would be snatched up really quickly.
4 hours that big - plein air - on a busy road with fog - damn bro! You killed it! You managed to take the "small process" up to a big size in a way that I've wondered how to do. I would have thought I would have to scale up the size of all my brushes a lot more to stay loose. This helps me see the process didn't change much and the big size forces looseness.
What a great spot! You totally ignored the signs of civilization. Love all the angles in your design, and the directions of the water, upright trees, and slopes on the rocky mountains . Looking down at the water, you see all the different bluey greens. The sky is a beautiful restful blue. Very nice! ❤
I know that you are as fascinated by color as any artist. You more than anyone explore the endless story of colors constantly changing expression. No two paintings of the same scene at different timesare identical
Wow, you create an awesome painting while battling the elements and on top of that filming‼️👊🏻 I’m looking forward to seeing your show in person at STUDIO this October, you Rock 🎨
Beautiful. Love the trees and the light and shade, the colors of the water, the composition including the distant hills and even the tiny sliver of beach at the bottom. Very nice. You are very talented.
Mark, this is crazy good! I have been struggling to get better with plein air painting for years. Its going very slowly. I can never finish anything, get back home often after 2-3 hours with only some sort of block-in
@@chamberlainpaintings Apologies Michael. What I meant was the fact the Sun didn’t come out and the fact you worked with that regardless added something important and lovely to the work. I particularly enjoyed how the finished work came out of some strong shapes and tones of the trees how that might not have been as important if the sun coming out had drawn your attention to the sky etc. TY Michael.
Nice and big. Great job Mike, novelist question? How did the moisture in the air from the fog effect your painting? Being a long time resident of Frisco years ago I miss and can feel the great vibe there. Thanks Michael 😊
Hi Micheal. You’re an awesome artist and I’m inspired by your artwork. I also have a new Plein Air channel. Can I link your channel on mine for my viewers? fyi, I’m “Plein Air Paint and draw” Cheers! 😊
There is something I love about the sketching in… I love when the painting blooms but the first part is my favorite. Gorgeous, thank you. 😊
Beautiful composition I love that you take the time to explain your process in each video. This painting is one of my favorites
Agree
Bakers my favorite, so cool to see you painting there!
That came out super. Love the transitions in the water as it nears the beach. The trees have so much character, too.
Looking forward to seeing your great work at your opening reception. Love your plein air painting videos. Can't wait for the next one!
I have the perfect wall to hang this painting! Well done! 👏🏻
Love the final painting! Great shapes, colours and composition!
Very very nice, love the contrast of the trees

Thanks Michelle! It'll be in the show.

Thanks Cory! I had a number ten flat with me but I never used it! I suppose I could have but the smaller brushes were getting the effect I was after.

Utterly stunning….fab composition, thank you for sharing your video
Good job, love it !
I really like this one and I could see you going back to this spot on a sunny day.
Amazing, man! That’s a huge canvas to manage outside. Well done.
Great one!!! I like the groundwork and tree trunks too. Cheers.
Nicely done. I especially like the sense of wildness and distance.
One of your best!
Love the tree shapes! You are brave with that size of painting.
You are fearless! Thats a big one.
Outstanding, again! Thanks for sharing.

Lovely painting!
Great painting!
Really like this painting, wow busy road
I think that location was too random but I think it looks amazing 🖼️🙌
Thanks. It’s actually an amazing location! Great view and easy parking. A rare combination in SF.
I love the larger canvas and the view you chose seems perfect for my taste. Thanks! for the videos! They are inspiring for me.
This is great! Love it.
Great composition! Also a great lesson to show YOU are the boss of the colors and tones not the landscape.
U need to do a couple of work shops a year I reckon lots would enrol for your classes
Amazing always!
Michael, the gang would marvel over this 🔮. 12:50

That’s a great area. Very busy, but you manage your fans very well! 🙂
It just goes to show that we expect provides for an opportunity for something really good to happen. Your painting is evidence of this. TY Michael.
I feel like a few words may be missing?

BEAUTIFUL❤❤❤
Nice composition. Some of the best sights are from the freeway/road, and you have enough courage to paint there!
Thanks! Fortunately this spot is barricaded!
Dude, you've been going so big lately! I'm here for it. Love the composition. The fog is killer.
Right on, Michael!! Looks amazing 😁
Thanks Hailey!
Love it 🔥🧑🎨
..this is a WOW..I'm the queen of "itty bitty"..bravo on you! 😊
Huge for outdoors
Wonderful

Thanks Steve. The moisture from the fog didn't effect the painting process at all. Rain would be a problem.
I love it when you do trees. What sort of trees are these. I don't think we have them in Australia.
Monterey Cypress
thank you!
- magic imagery in the tree sketch -
Súper genial artes un10 porque me encanta ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
* 14:39 onlookers in the cliffs peer towards occupants of the tree floor, their gaze reciprocate, so much imagery

0:25 excellent location view🔍
Good Morning Michael ( kinda late here )
Good morning Mark!
Good one Michael, I like the larger size but keep in mind anything over 48” is going to require a van and a paint assistant;)
