Just bought a Bantam. Have been doing hike and fly paragliding on a 27m^2 Ibex from Nova. It's a very stable wing good inflation characteristics. But launching from an improvised launch site is always difficult with those long, unsheathed lines. It just takes too much energy to inflate a paraglider when you are in a compromised place with little space. And it's very easy to snag a line or get a tension knot that's difficult to detect. It's just...dangerous...and I don't think people appreciate that. On cliff launches large wings can catch a lot of air and pick you up quickly giving you little time to react. While mini wings are smaller and less forgiving, they really offer a lot more safety on launches like this. I really can't stress that point enough. Can't wait to fly the Bantam. Already doing some kiting it is another world.
Why not use a single skin paraglider? Much lighter and much more easily launched. I use my Ozone xxLite 2 for such mountain descents. It weighs 1.3 kg and the harness 0.1 kg
Amazing! What Harness are you using? My Everest 3 is quite uncomfortable after more than 15 minutes in the air. I have the Pi3 19m as well, which I’m assuming this is?
