Adobe is definitely different for editorial. I barely do anything commercial these days. The funny thing is the editorial designation doesn’t seem to hurt sales. I guess their requirements probably help stay consistent with the content. Thanks for sharing Jeff!
Hi Jeff, you are right about your observation about the editorial images. I've had a similar experience. If the images have any recognisable people in them then they get rejected. Moreover, their criteria for editorial images seems quite vague. They also seems to look at the potential sale value of the editorial images. Thanks for your very helpful video.
Hi Jeff, I do not even know You need 100 images sold before start uploading editorial, You are right about people, absolutely no no if you want your image be accepted Thumbs Up for You and also for Adobe ,l I have many editorial images accepted with them and it was sellers
I've had a number of editorial submissions rejected by Adobe. They seem to have a very narrow window as to what they will accept. You have to be a good guesser. If you think an image might have editorial value in the future, they make their own judgement as to whether it will or not. If your image is of something famous enough, they might decide it has potential editorial value. Of course, if something is currently in the news, they don't want that either. Shutterstock doesn't seem to have any of these issues.
Adobe Stock editorial almost does not allow anything (at this time). This feature should not even be offered on their page. It's confusing. I simply ignore it for now.
I am in the process of applying for a media pass for an up and coming event. The event is ticketed and Stock Adobe won't be seeing them, and even when I reach a 100 sales, I think I have about another 70 to go, I am flat out submitting elsewhere.
I tried uploading book covers as you suggested in other videos, unfortunately they were rejected as editorial. Any suggestions in getting these accepted?
@@JWhyte123 they were on a white background if that makes any difference. I might try on a bookshelf or something and see how it goes. Look forward to seeing how you go with yours :)

I agree.
Agreed. I actually feel like Adobe has gotten more restrictive lately as well.

I think it was allowing a lot, just it was not typical editorial images

You can ask for editorial access before 100 sales but you have to apply.

Interesting. I might try photographing a few this weekend and see if they get accepted.
Also try Alamy. I have sold some there as well.
