You can almost tell that Richard had practiced reading his parts of the book at home and James and Jeremy were just like "Nah it'll be fine when we get there!" 😂
"THE MIGHTY USS NIMITZ BLAZED OUT OF CONTROL IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC" "THE F15 CAME OUT OF THE CLOUDS ON COMBAT POWER,UNLEASHING A TRAIL OF DEATH AND LEAD IN IT'S WAKE" "Alright Constable," she said, "but be gentle"
It was moments like this that made Top Gear great (or, as my mom puts it, "the best show on television"). Even if, like me, you aren't a huge car fanatic, the chemistry of those three made the show worth coming back to again and again. They had a good long run on BBC. Onward and upward, I guess.
I love how Jeremy on the first take reads "the mighty USS blazed out of control in the middle of the north Atlantic" really enthusiastically only to find he was reading the wrong part!
This was for a series called the Big Read where the BBC attempted to find out what the nation's favourite book was. (Hitchhiker's came second to Lord of the Rings.) At one point during the final, a montage of celebrities read out passages of their favourite books, including the guys. Nicely-bottomed Fiona Bruce also read out a bit from Hitchhiker's. (The part where Ford asks for six pints.)
Hammond is the best at reading his lines, he was the only one who got them right at each take. I loved his laugh when Jeremy read The F15 came out of the clouds on combat power, unleashing a trail of death and led on it's way! Take 3 was the best.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you not three grown man cocking it up on the bonnet of a car, but three TV-legends that, unlike the woman at the beginning are known throughout the world for their fantastic sense of humor and their outstanding show, which is more addicting than any drug one could buy today.
"Constable," she said, "But be gentle." The funny thing is he managed to say it with a straight face. Try watching the whole thing without smiling or laughing, I fail miserably at Jeremy reading so enthusiastically on the first page, only to find that he was on the wrong page!!!
"ALRIGHT!"
"Constable, she said, but be gentle."
LMAO
James may: being the funniest in the most unexpected times.
Hes an expert on that moment
That’s straight out of a adult romcom
"Alright Constable," she said, "but be gentle". >>>>>>>>>
pretty sure he sad cuntstable
The exact moment when I killed my old laptop by snorting coffee all over the poor thing!
What is that from tho?
@@KaitlynBurtonISaGOD found out yet? I feel that it isnt a reference but just a funny statement
@@tis_ace honestly I cant remember writing this
"The F15 came outta the clouds on combat power! Unleashing a trial of death and lead in its wake!"
Thats the book I want to read!
The mighty USS Nimitz blazed out of control in the middle of the North Atlantic.

"As it turned out... very!"
Supuerb comment
With episode and series???
“I mean reading… how hard can it be?”
"Alright constable" she said "but be gentle" LOL
James always manages to get the best lines because no one expects it from him

Notice that only Hammond was perfect the entire time. :P
+Paianni but Mays #3 made the best entry i guess :)
James MaY had it perfect as well on Take 3...
i guess you can say he was....Alright

2:01 when Richard found out about jeremy's suspension.
‘Alright!’
‘Constable’ she said ‘but be gentle’
I’ll always howl laughing at that
The three dipsticks we all can't get enough of :D
The three perfect hosts :D
You know you cracked an absolutely legendary joke when people laugh AND applaud. That’s what makes James May so great. It comes from nowhere but man
The bloopers don't started as I already died when the woman said "little Richard" xD
"Alright!" "Counstable, but be gentle" XD
It would of been brilliant if clarkson came out with "he endured blistering winds and scorching desserts!"
I love this! Everytime I watch this video, I laugh uncontrollably.
The TG trio are comedy geniuses!
I love how Jeremy on the first take reads "the mighty USS blazed out of control in the middle of the north Atlantic" really enthusiastically only to find he was reading the wrong part!
I'm pretty sure he was messing around quoting an entirely different novel. Sounds like a Tom Clancy book.

"Thank You to three Dip Sticks". That was surprisingly a great line.
I bet Clarksons children get one hell of a bead-time story!!!
James' contribution is by far the best!!
"Alright, Constable. But be gentle...." LMFAO
Best outtake ever on TV history, I can't stop watching it.
Hammond's exhasperation at the end is wonderful!
Jeremy is reading tom clancy's 'red strom rising'
“Three grown men cocking it up” is a pretty good summary for the whole series
Hahaha! The scream and the run!! EPIC
I now need a Red Storm Rising audiobook narrated by Jeremy pumped directly in my veins
I remember watching this on tv years ago, so glad I found it again!
to be fair Hammond didn't mess up
Richard running off screaming 🤣🤣🤣
it would have been funny if clarkson had a completely different book
The funniest outtakes I have ever seen
"The F15 came out of the clouds on combat power unleashing a trail of death and leed in it's way!" 0:45
At 2:01 Looks like the hanster is gonna kill someone
Richards face at the end was just epic!!!!
Literally the only book I read in highschool. I read it again and again when the teacher told us to read for the period.
I'd buy audiobooks if these three read them. :D
THIS is The Top Gear we all know & love!

1:59 oh truck, you said that wrong.
"Constable," she said, "But be gentle." The funny thing is he managed to say it with a straight face. Try watching the whole thing without smiling or laughing, I fail miserably at Jeremy reading so enthusiastically on the first page, only to find that he was on the wrong page!!!
I miss the mid 2000s so much.
Everytime i watch this, I laugh so much that my stomach hurts!
You'd have to have a soul out of custard not to laugh.
funniest blooper EVER!!
I cried laughing when I first saw this. :'D
Great stuff!Love the three dipsticks!
My god, they can even make reading a simple passage this funny? This is what you called legends!
There's so much shade thrown in the intro

i love that womans witch like laugh in the crowd loool
I thought that was a small dog.
1:00 best part, the last take defines this trio top gear, ambitious but rubbish
Legends...
I thought that they would end the "ultimate question" stuff with the question of life or death: How hard can it be?
JM: "Deep Thought pondered for a while."
JC: "Tricky...that's...you've read the wrong word you moron it says moment."
xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
How much fun could these three make like reading textbooks and stuff? XD
What book was the F15 passage from?
A Tom Clancy book I believe
I dont believe its from any book, just Clarkson's manly fantasy bullshit.
Tom Clancy’s Red Storm Rising
@alonderis: I think the USS Nimiz part is the best!
@TheBuco69 She is, there's just a greenscreen put around her.
3 dipsticks you love to watch XD
now that after watching the movie, i understand this better
There's a mild difference between being bad at reading and cracking jokes while you're doing it. :3
2:00 epic richard is epic!!! :D
lol, Richard just lost it for a moment there.... :)
the BBC was a bit silly in asking them to try and do that....it was always gunna end in tears
x
Observe, if you will, a gameshow host (Jeremy, ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’), and a hamster, slowly losing the will to live.
Is there a witch laughing in the background?
@Soap19XX Not sure if it's on the actual show... think it's from The Big Read
thank you from three dipsticks lol and hammonds face at 2:00
I can hear guinea pigs communicating in the background
genius
ROFL "Little Richard" xD I don't think he appreciate that...
But this clip is cute :D
