    Another great video! Keep on keeping it real. I love to watch you problem solve on the fly and sharing the emotion of working through your problems. Helps me bc it’s a daily up and down for me on the farm as well!

    What about using smaller areas during the kidding season and just having more frequent small moves (for parasite control)? You can leave the back fence open at night and they will be inclined to move to the next paddock because of the better forage opportunities.

      Yes. That’s typically what we do. Definitely have already started back doing that. Excellent suggestion!!👍🏻👍🏻

    Best way to have them is long narrow pastures. I keep them less than 50 feet wide but up to 1/2 mile long. Makes kidding season easy does can go back to close to the kid and call it threw. Just use 3 strands of Polly on front fence and 2 on the back fence

      That’s a great idea!! Thanks Andrew.

      @@addisonranch I learn that from Greg Judy with the cows so tried with the goats and it works great. No more hunting kids.

    Why don't you put the ewes in a smaller pasture before kidding starts and feed hay for a week or so.

    • @addisonranch
      @addisonranch  7 месяцев назад +1

      We typically don’t have hay.

    Seems soo cruelty to these goats. No food, 3 bsils of hsy?
    If you dont have time for them, dont breed them like this.
    Disgusting

      I’m sorry I didn’t make myself very clear. What I meant was I don’t have time to teach the goats how to not be a goat😁

    I came across your goat video and decided to have a look. HOWEVER, Much to my dismay I found I cant watch farms like yours who dont truly care about the welfare of their animals. Them babies and their Mamas should be top priority and leaving them babies to die BECAUSE YOU DONT GIVE A DAMN TO PROPERLY HERD THEM IS SUCH CRUELTY. Dont have that many goats since you lack heart to care for them

      Thanks sincerely for leaving a comment. It is clear you haven’t watched our Channel or else you would be certain that we care GREATLY about ALL of our animals! We spend all day every day making sure ALL their needs are met and for you to make a snap judgement on one video that we were dealing with quite a handful, just shows us the lack of heart that YOU in fact have. We agree that mamas and babies are a top priority….Did you even watch the whole video? I’m not sure where you got the idea we “left them babies to die”….We spent the ENTIRE day making sure that not one baby was left behind and therefore reconnected with their mama in the next pasture. We move our animals consistently to fresh pastures for the purpose of preventing parasites which will kill them and so that they have as much to eat as they would like. This doesn’t stop just because they are having babies. In fact, it is even more important during this time of their lives. Nature has a way of working itself out and unfortunately sometimes an animal dies for a number of reasons. This does not mean we are reckless and don’t care about every single one of them. If we didn’t care, then why would we spend 10 hours gridding out a pasture searching for any new kids that were left by their mom or take struggling kids home and spend hours, days and months hand feeding them? You should probably reconsider your comments before you post on someone’s page when you don’t understand that it takes all styles of ranching and ranchers who are supplying YOUR food. Have a great day!
