I am a seasoned cook and this looks like an hour to an hour and a half process, from ingredients prepped to cool down time. The only thing that can be made in 5 minutes in the kitchen is a peanut butter sandwich. 🙂

If an orange tree gets frozen ...the Oranges are beautiful in future years. Plentiful but sour like a lemon. People just throw them away. I showed ladies how to squeeze juice and sweeten and thicken to make orange meringue pie. It was delicious and gone at pot luck immediately. Then I was telling women how to use up those sour Oranges. Made great orange -ade also.

I made it! It tastes yummy! I will make again. I am going to try to make it with pineapple for one recipe as Cherry for another. I think orange, pineapple and cherry are great flavors separate yet together. Also I think the colors will look pretty layered. It made more than I expected, so my neighbors were able to enjoy it as well. Thank you for a great recipe.
This looks great, but if you want more orange flavor you should really use the zest. Zest the oranges before making the juice, heat the cream to a simmer add the peels and let sit for half an hour. Strain the peels and then chill the cream. Or you could make Oleo Saccharum: which is just sugar and zest mashed heavily and then let sit for 5-24. At this point squeeze any remaining oil out of the peels and discard them. An easier albeit more expensive option is orange oil or extract.
This is basically an orange curd. I'm wondering why you didn't use any of the zest? That's where you get most of the flavor. If I were to make this I'd use frozen orange concentrate. I've made an orange curd using reg oranges. The flavor is very light. Then adding not one but two other ingredients is going to really knock that orange flavor down... 🤷♀️
Especially once he mixes in the whipped cream. Maybe if he used lemon instead of orange?The flavor might come through more as lemon is a punchier flavor.

I've made a pineapple curd that was successful but you do have to reduce the liquid down in order to keep the pineapple flavor prominent. I don't mind because it is a tasty curd... 😋
Super délicieux. Je n’avais pas de mascarpone dans mon réfrigérateur, mais pas grave. J’ai ajouté 3 feuilles de gélatine dans le flan orange avant d’y ajouter la crème montée en chantilly! J’avais aussi ajouté les zestes de quelques oranges. Dessert fait en moins d’une heure! J’aurais pu faire encore plus rapidement mais je n’avais pas de place dans mon congélateur!!!! J’ai retiré les restes de peau des demies oranges et j’ai dressé dans les oranges! Vraiment gourmand comme entremet!!! Merci!

This is really neat. So essentially you make a citrus pastry cream and add whipped cream. Seems light and refreshing. I bet a lime version would be fantastic. Or grapefruit. Any citrus really.

Cholesterol has very little to do with fat in general, only some types... it's a complex issue we have started to understand better only in the last years. Go to some serious nutrition channel like Dr Eric Berg for more info

I couldn't juice the oranges in 5 minutes! Or fill the pastry bag in 5! And add another half hour for clean-up. This would be great with lemon, too.

I was wondering if some zest boiled up in a little water and added to the juice (still making 500ml) might make it more orange flavour. ?
A good slosh of Cointreau might work too.
