OMG Like a super Counseling Session!! Unbelievable, I have goose bumps, Turn 62 in 2 weeks, Sept Social Security check!! US wanna be expats are listening! U should start "Expat Boot Camp. Sooo which is best month to come out: W/ Weather, Typhoons, tourist, etc. When in the next year shall I begin my Philippine adventure.
After 20+ years of working.. military, law enforcement, security, motorcycle technician.. I never ever worked for the same company/organization for more than two years.. 5yrs military, but that was an obligation.. never once was my work appreciated besides the military.. all the dei bs.. I got fed up.. retired myself from the rat race.. I came here and basically retired.. now I'm basically a king in my own world..
Guess what I have learned, it's not what you BELIEVE you deserve - it's about EARNING what you believe you deserve. Think too many expect things without actually putting in the work to earn them. Just my 2 cents. Great topic!
Steve I ended up watching this after we spoke this morning my time. This was very well thought out and well presented. Thank you for everything you do.
I think its good to help people but you also have to be careful some people will try to take advantage. You have to set boundaries. Some people see people that help other people as a sign of being weak. Not everyone thinks or see things the same. Yes there's a lot of Good people in this world but there's also a lot of selfish people. It would be good to live in a world where everyone helped each other but we have to be realistic we don't live in a world like that. I have also read a lot of books 1 the power of positive thinking, That was 25 years ago those books helped me, But you still have to deal with whatever life throws our way. Interesting topic Steve thanks for sharing 👍
I dated the same Cebu island girl 3 months each year 2018,18&2020. She understood that we would not get married. . - -> Since COVID ; I discovered Colombia. The past 3 years I have been dating the same two svelte fit vetted girlfriends ages 33 & 40 in Medellin, Colombia. I’m fit at age 80, swim daily in some of the 10 Estadio Olympica pools. I’m enjoying happiness, joy and love sharing adventures in Colombia separately with one or the other girlfriend.
Great vlog. I came here for peace. It takes time to find a good partner, but romance isn't the only thing Philippines has to offer. I like photography, beaches, sunsets, waterfalls, and natural beauty. So many islands, great people, good food, and recreation. Its like being in heaven, and everyday is a new day.
I believe life can be good on either side of the Pacific. If I had my choice I would be living in the Philippines leading a low profile relaxed life with long walks, visits with new friends and with the love of an extended family. At age 70 I have lived in the Philippines off and on for a total of more that two years. But my health didn't allow me to stay there, so we moved here to Iowa and live in an apartment. I take long walks in beautiful lush parks and wildlife here in Iowa. They have 135 miles of paved walking paths in this small town of 45,000 people. My Filipina wife has a good job working at the University. She has a large and growing circle of Fillipina friends. I had two friends show up unannounced at the apartment just to visit this week. Muslim doctor and an old farm boy who had been around the world on an Navy Aircraft carrier in his military career. Lots of food for discussion with these two. And I have a step grandaughter coming to see me from he home across the street. So I will stop writing and talk to her. I think I have found my niche in life.. I am happy but still there are things I struggle to understand in life and probably never will.
I have found the expats that struggle the most are usually, but not always never had any military experience. Being in the military helps you to adapt and adjust when things aren’t perfect and most civilians struggle with this. In my opinion.
That was one of the things an instructor told us as we were transitioning from the military after 23 years. He said, more or less, “The biggest thing you guys and gals bring to the table on ANY new job, is your unique ability to ADAPT. You guys move all the time and you continually go to different bases and even though you might be doing “the same job” you can count on learning an entirely new way of doing it. And you do it because of the mission. You might be a little stinky about it but you put your big boy pants on and did it the new way!” He was 1000% correct!
@@gpituch yes as a former military man, who’s father retired after 30 years in the military, and my 4 older brothers who all served. I can say moving to the Philippines has been a piece of cake. Have I had to make adjustments? Of course, but when you travel from Missouri to California you have to make adjustments or when you leave California for New York you make adjustments. Either adapt or fail. The question is can you adapt and adjust. If not then it’s better to stay where you are. The problem is that many will lie to themselves, and convince themselves, that they are a flexible person, when in fact they are quite rigged.

Here are some tips that may help you get the life you want: Set goals: Make a plan to achieve your goals, and break them down into smaller milestones. You can ask yourself questions like what makes you happy, what your needs are, and what activities put you in a flow state. Believe in yourself: Have faith in yourself, and believe that you create your own experiences. Be yourself: Live life the way you want to, regardless of what others think. Visualize your goals: Speak or write things into existence, and put a photo of what you want most somewhere you'll see it often. Don't give up: Move past failure, and embrace uncertainty. Take care of yourself: Maintain a healthy lifestyle and do things that make you happy every day.
Nice guys finish last. I had an American girlfriend and American woman wife cheat on me. I didn't deserve that. I had a Brazilian girlfriend cheat on me. I didn't deserve that I had a Bulgarian girlfriend who cheated on me. I didn't deserve that. I had 3 out 5 Filipinas cheat on me. I didn't deserve that. It took 28 years of bad relationships to come to one great one. I always treated everyone of the woman i was involved with the right way never ever treated them badly. I didnt deserves my wife but i thank god for her. Good video Steve.
@@comodice905 I guess honesty was to much to ask for. Even though that's what they got from me. I guess you're ok with using people for your own personal selfish gain. I may not own them but it was funny every one of them begged me to come back after I broke up with them. EVERY ONE. It's funny when you cut someone off and it affects their life, all of a sudden the life they are having to live now just isn't so wonderful anymore.
But why did so many cheat on you? Maybe the issue was you. Some people just aren't cut out for relationships and better off single. Nothing wrong with it it's why I choose to be single I can't handle it. No one owes you anything.
I agree with you as I see morality declining in the USA when doing what is right is frowned upon and doing wrong or even criminal is not addressed and no consequences or even where our border is , an illegal immigrant is welcomed in and supported financially, given housing, medical attention and education as well as free legal services. Our government is complicit, taking tax payer dollars from those who actually pay them and give to criminals. This causes bad attitudes and creates division. The only thing hard work gets you is an expectation of hard work not reward or deserve at least its been my experience
I prefer B Global City to Makati. ?Is CDO near pineapple fields? Unique experience was “Boodle Fight” in Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya province northern Luzon participating in annual medical mission. Excellent points....more and more Americans are expecting something for nothing....completely over looking the forest for a tree. More and more will vote for a handout, even if what accompanies it will be destructive in the long run. A sad state...
Basically, that which you "deserve" is the life that you yourself spent 60 years of your working life led up to. You only "deserve" what you earned, right? If others judge your present behavior to be negative, that may be true but irrelevant with respect to what you actually deserve. Sorry to those who judge, but, a supposed negative behavior pattern of 1 or 2 years here does not detract from a lifetime of what people actually "deserve", it may simply have an impact on what they "get".
Although that is probable always remember u can't beat the clock time ticks away at a klip beyond any functionality to know the clock is ticking and while decent and hard working is whacked out if u go beyonder of sic n tired cab here to there but can u use military exchange in peeeye
Steve do you know a good immigration lawyer. I went to a guy in calamba city who advertised that he was an immigration lawyer and I knew more about it then he did. 🙄🙄🙄
Fixable? Or ignorable.... Sorry Steve but people will never stop tossing trash on the ground or in the ocean. The lack of respect they have for this beautiful country is heart breaking.
Totally agree. A lot of Filipinos also don’t realise that tossing their trash (basura) causes other problems. Aside from vermin, as soon as a decent rain comes along, all this basura gets washed into the drains, eventually causing blockages or partial blockages resulting in flooding. The heavy constant rain from the recent typhoon and the resultant flooding is a case in point.
That golden rule in action creates a good life ✅✌️

Believe in it then earn it. Work well and great things happen.....in time. Wonderful topic Steve
