Recently, I began working on a creative project-a snowy cottage diorama made from a simple shoe box. This idea struck me as a way to bring a cozy, wintry scene to life using items we often overlook in our everyday lives. Building this little cottage has been a delightful experience, not only for me but also for my pigeon, Dani, who accompanies me every day. His curiosity and companionship bring joy to the creative process, and he always seems interested in whatever I'm making.
The initial design involved painting the cottage red. As I began adding color, I quickly realized that finding the right contrast for the window borders was tricky. Red was a striking color, but it needed a complementary hue to make the cottage truly come to life. After some thought, I decided to switch the main color to green, giving the cottage a warmer, more natural look. With green as the primary shade, I chose a mustard color for the window borders to add a cozy, rustic contrast. The combination felt right, giving the cottage a welcoming and homely appearance.
While working on the project, I noticed that each morning my son, Essa, wakes up in high spirits. He loves to get ready early, full of excitement and energy. His joy is infectious, filling the house with a lively, cheerful atmosphere. I often catch him dancing around as he prepares for the day. His happiness seems to spread to everyone around him, including his sister, Maryam, who also dressed up this morning. It appears they might be planning to go somewhere with their grandfather, which has added to their anticipation.
Moments like these, where creativity and family blend seamlessly, remind me of the beauty in everyday life. The snowy cottage diorama not only serves as a fun project but also becomes a part of our shared memories. Watching my children’s joy and working with Dani by my side make these small activities truly memorable.
