Maaaaan as soon as I saw the first map I instantly got transported back. Such a great game. Some of those "shortcuts" aren't cuts either in the original game, they were places you could drive through to lose the cops if you were being chased.
I still hope he goes for the shortcuts, with those maps it would be great if he explored em more. Not just beat the time but also test the different routes :)
Incredible. As you started up Atlantica I immediately thought to myself "this looks vaguely familiar" and then a little later I thought "there's a cut coming up on the right" and sure enough. I remember playing this track for hours. Good times.
I was about to comment that NFS3 didn't come out in 1998, but it did... I feel old :\ Good memories racing on Hometown And yes, these tracks look exactly as I remember!
Seeing the Altantica track unlocked a lot of memories I'd forgotten about over the years. Thank you for playing this, it was a great blast back to the past.
I am 28 yrs old and NFS III was my very first game, my big brother showed to me when I was still a toddler... It's amazing how these classic maps lend theirselves to trackmania's flow and the runs look absolutely spectacular when you're giving it full beans
Hard to say if they've modified the tracks in any way, but they look pretty close... and that's insane how well they seem to play in a game that has completely different scale, speed, and driving mechanics. Like, this should not be taken for granted, I think.
These games are probably the reason I got into racing games at all. Used to play the old Test Drives and NFS games with family quite a bit. Uncle who has now passed away got me into gaming online and competitive stuff. Still use his gamer tag as the license plates or company names when games let you customize them. Good memories.
played this for hundreds of hours. these TM maps were perfectly recreated. you were actually able to replace the regular cars with custom new ones and tracks as well. there was a japanese guy called ryuichi or something similar who made tons of cars for nfs 3/4.
Back when I was a teenager, me and my brothers had only like 5 games to play on our pc, and NFS3 was my favourite so... I've spent over a 1000 hours on this game easily. Still have it installed on my pc in fact xD
Hey Scrapie! Just had to say I really love this video!! Not sure if you have read any of my previous comments.. but I myself am 41 yrs old, and started playing TM 5 months ago after coming across your videos on YT.. being 41 and playing aome racing games in my past, I had played NFS3 many times, and am super pumped to get to play these again in TM now.. soon as im done this video I will be adding this Campaign to my club. My Club is called BTB.. i have some of my own tracks in the club if you or any of the other wonderful viewers wants to try my tracks or if they wants to play this NFS campaign.. thanks for the amazing videos!! I started to post my AT's on the totd tracks when i can get them.. would be amazing if you happened across one of them one day!! I hope that happens, but not as much as i hope to see you online one day so i can spec and watch a pro 😍 thanks for the awesome video scrapie!! And thanks to all of the TM community for being amazing ppl!! Best community in all of gaming by far!!
Wow. I never expected to see hometown again.. eventhough I was born '98, my dad had this game on our Windows 98. I played it when I was 5 y.o. Driving with the Lamborghini was a dream
A '91 kid here; I have never actualy played NFS3 but as a kid I played a buttload of NFS2 SE and absolutely loved it. If there's a NFS2 campaign as well I would love to see you play it :D
I'm just gonna say... These maps are straight from NFS3... and everything that has no hitbox, is destructible in the original game so i guess that's why.
This is my favorite Scrapie content, WR hunting on long realistic maps. Perfect editing as well, showing a nice progression from discovery to AT to WR. Thank you Mr Scrapie + editor Phantomfreak 🙏🙏
I actually played this game as a kid! It required a 3D card to run, so my parents got me one, it was called Monster 3D with 12 (!) MEGABYTES (!) of ram. Thanx Scrapie and the creators, it brings back warm memories!
So cool to see these tracks again. This is how they felt back in the day, although in reality they were not nearly as fast as you're driving here. Coincidentally they hold up really well as far as racing tracks go, and gives a cool new edge to the usual TM physics (all those tiny bumps, soft turns, variety of slopes...)
NFS 3: Hot Pursuit is still to this day my favorite NFS. As a kid i would watch the intro over and over and the menu song "Romolus 3" still gives me major goosebumps
This is incredible. I sort of remember a lot of these but what's really interesting to see is that the tracks themselves are a big part of why those games felt so intense. It wasn't just the cars or the physics/gameplay. Watching you drive these feels really similar to how my memory of playing this game felt.
I do wanna see that stuff, but I'd also really like to see you attempt those tracks with the alt car. That canyon track SCREAMS for the DesertCar, just for the look and the TMO feel :)
I love tracks from other games ported to trackmania! Speaking of the bumps though, I'm conflicted on whether they should be kept in for authenticity or smoothed out at least a little bit so the stadium car handles them better.
Interesting little mini-campaign, Scrapie hunting while offline and being communicative and skillful, learning fast. This is the type of content I prefer tbh
I'm 26 years old and my first was NFS III Hot Pursuit. So although I don't remember the maps, I remember the graphics and style and was really cool to see. Hot pursuit was a lot of fun and I loved that you could both run from the cops or play as cops.
Scrapie, your most played NFS being NFS Most Wanted (2005) is SO real to me, cause that was my first real game I remember actually getting into, beyond pickup and put down play time.
In the original game, you would knock over the signs when you hit them. As a kid I used to try to knock them all down and still finish as fast as possible
Man. These tracks bring back memories. I remember an NFS game for the PS1 where you had to go behind a yellow turn sign and input a button code to unlock another track... Unsure if it was the one these maps are from, but I have a yellow stick-it note folded up and store somewhere with the code on it. Haven't seen it in years though.
Holy fuck....the flashbacks. Dead to nuts accurate and i love that pixilated look. I still have all these games emulated on my laptop to always revisit. Lord be still my beating heart 🥹
Omg I was 9 when this came out and my friend had it. It blew our brain so hard and the cops chasing you just made our little brains explode. Such good times.
Modders are really something else man ... Dude woke up a morning and said "How about I recreate a 1-1 version of a 1998 racing game in Trackmania ? Sounds about right, lets do it without any reason except the fun of it" This is beyond my comprehension. Kudos to y'all madmen and madwomen
I grew up playing these maps with my dad. Honestly wish I had more time to do that. RIP dad but seeing these maps made me smile from the memories. Also im surprised he missed all the shortcuts originally added to the tracks.
What a throwback. I played this game up and down as a kid lol, just needs the music :D Btw those signs probably aren't real because you could drive over them on the original.
Figuring out that Atlantica cut was slower - best part xD Finally I can see someone get bamboozled. Not using the end cut in Rocky Pass triggered me so hard.
Racing games were so cool back in the day - NFS, Ridge Racer etc. The way they would add changes after every lap (plane flying by, weather changes). This has been lost since most of these games have gone open-world.
I had no idea this campaign existed, gotta try them out myself! Wasn't my most played NFS game back in the day but definitely brings back memories still ^^ the tracks look very good here!
NFS III was the first game I played regularly, such a fun experience. Kinda funny I went into each map barely remembering a thing, and then recognizing it immediately when the memorable parts came up. Props to the people who made them in TM2020.
oh god I'm a 99 kid and the Atlantica map looked so familiar, I remember playing old NFS games on my dad's computer but I never could recall which game
Man this brings back some memories. NFS3 was so great when I was a kid. Should really play it again to figure out that it doesn't really look like I remember it :D
Im just a couple years older than you. I remember playing this game and also nfs2 on my dads work notebook. Great memories! Please do the other maps as well. If there’s a nfs2 campaign I would love to see you play it as well!
Editing note (as a viewer, of course): it's kinda weird if you time skip and the very next run we see Scrapie says "it's about the same pace as the last run". You can recognize that he's obviously referring to a run you didn't see, but it's not an immediate realization (or at least wasn't for me) and is somewhat jarring. Fun as hell to watch though, mad props to the person who put those maps together!
i really liked this one. PLS play more. normally im not commenting everything but pls play the last maps its so cool to see NFS and Trackmania in one game 😍
i never played *this* NFS game but I've played a few others and I'm pretty sure all the things with missing hitboxes - particularly the roadsigns - were things you could destroy, and with that not being possible in TM leaving them without hitboxes is the only way to preserve both the look and the original lines
As soon as you did the first lap I got instant flashbacks to driving a Diablo and cuntach. Like that level of difficulty when you where young was perfect. It was so fun!
Maaaaan as soon as I saw the first map I instantly got transported back. Such a great game.

poor dude probably grinded for so long.
I was about to comment that NFS3 didn't come out in 1998, but it did... I feel old :\
Good memories racing on Hometown
And yes, these tracks look exactly as I remember!
Just with less voxel jitter
They seem to be directly ported from the PC version
I still play cs 1.6 bro,i feel ancient

Seeing the Altantica track unlocked a lot of memories I'd forgotten about over the years. Thank you for playing this, it was a great blast back to the past.

i did play it back in the day. religiously. maps look great and very authentic. big props to the maker.
1:32 - Scrapie crashes into the same building everybody crashed into back in the days. I feel absolved.
No one suspects the hidden 90 in hometown.
These games are probably the reason I got into racing games at all. Used to play the old Test Drives and NFS games with family quite a bit. even if the texture quality is s=low, it shows how good the design itself is, the vibe is on point

I loved this game so much. Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR was my favorite car, iirc. The game looked great for its day.
A '91 kid here; I have never actualy played NFS3 but as a kid I played a buttload of NFS2 SE and absolutely loved it. If there's a NFS2 campaign as well I would love to see you play it :D
Please do more videos like this. I really enjoy them and I listen to them while I study
I like when Scrapie plays recreations of old games or real life tracks like Pikes Peak
I'm just gonna say... These maps are straight from NFS3... and everything that has no hitbox, is destructible in the original game so i guess that's why.
I can tell by the comments that scrapie has got an older audience than most trackmania streamers.
its actually crazy how well the maps still work, the flow for a game with different physics is beautifull
yes i played it lot back in the days. The visuals on this tracks are on point
This is my favorite Scrapie content, WR hunting on long realistic maps. Perfect editing as well, showing a nice progression from discovery to AT to WR. Thank you Mr Scrapie + editor Phantomfreak 🙏🙏
Yes I remember playing this game, i loved the NFS3 maps.. now going to download it as well as NFS 2SE to play
thx 4 your youtube stuff i am to old for twitch
I remember all these maps and the nostalgia hit liek a truck. I'm launching the game to play this right now.
I am so happy to see this, I was instantly transported back to when I played it. I really remember playing the GT90 though the first map.
This was really fun to watch. Cool high speed track and happy Scrapie. Love it.
That first WR was just INSANE, especially in the second half of the second lap. I had to go back and watch it multiple times.
I like these offline videos much more than the ones created based on streams.
I actually played this game as a kid! It required a 3D card to run, so my parents got me one, it was called Monster 3D with 12 (!) MEGABYTES (!) of ram. Thanx Scrapie and the creators, it brings back warm memories!

When the car has more triangles than the rest of the map.
This was a trip down memory lane. I feel like I'm 6 again
Signs are fake, they can't hurt you. That's some solid dating / relationship advise, thanks Scrapie 👍
this is my childhood, its been maybe 20 years since i last saw these maps. Brutal Nostalgia.
I'm used to play this game on PS1 when I was 7, so thank you for binging back memories
i like those maps from other games, always happy when you play them like this!
Oh hey neat, a full video for these. Was surprised at how well the one in RM worked in TM for how different the original game is.
I do wanna see that stuff, but I'd also really like to see you attempt those tracks with the alt car.
That canyon track SCREAMS for the DesertCar, just for the look and the TMO feel :)
If you put shader settings to "Very High" the last map will be a LOT more brighter and playable.
I'm 20 and i vividly remember this game. This campaign looks amazing and I can't wait to play it

Loved games like this as a kid growing up! If there are other titles from that era on TM that would be so cool to see.
I'm 26 years old and my first was NFS III Hot Pursuit. So although I don't remember the maps, I remember the graphics and style and was really cool to see. Hot pursuit was a lot of fun and I loved that you could both run from the cops or play as cops.
holy... got hit so hard by the nostalgia of map 1
I really respect scrapie for learning each map by himself, rather than watching wr and improving like 1 tiny detail 👍
Scrapie, your most played NFS being NFS Most Wanted (2005) is SO real to me, cause that was my first real game I remember actually getting into, beyond pickup and put down play time.
Best scrapie content this year

Holy hell these maps are with insanely good quality. I've never played need for speed and these maps made me interested instantly.
These maps are incredible! Just completely shocked someone poured all this effort into these.
I played the shit out of this game. Love seeing it in trackmania form, it feels waaaay faster.

OH MY GOD I WAS 7 YEARS OLD WHEN I PLAYED THESE. Nfs 3 and car games completely burned into my brain.
I actually played this, split screen with KB and game pad on a friends computer... god now I feel old

There is a cut at the start of Empire City (Map 5). But Scrapie got WR without cut. LOL 😂😂🤦♂🤦♂
staying up top to jump to other platform to jump over track and into tunnel? that one i think
@@MukkingAround pretty sure he meant that you turn left before the first crane.

I love the look of those maps
I did indeed play the original game. Thanks for bringing back some of the memories.
These aren't "recreations", they strait up ported the maps with the original geometry and textures. Very cool whoever figured out how to do it.
Need for Speed 3 was my first racing game ever! These maps look immaculate!
I grew up playing these maps with my dad. Honestly wish I had more time to do that. RIP dad but seeing these maps made me smile from the memories. Also im surprised he missed all the shortcuts originally added to the tracks.
That thumbnail hoooooolyyyy goosebumps
What a throwback. I played this game up and down as a kid lol, just needs the music :D

dude. such a faithful remake of the maps. great memories
Figuring out that Atlantica cut was slower - best part xD Finally I can see someone get bamboozled.
Not using the end cut in Rocky Pass triggered me so hard.
I feel you, in the original game it is tough to have it smoothly though (I'm talking to the one which skips the left tech turn at the end)
I have never played the original, but wow these tracks actually just look really cool! They play surprisingly well too
cool, i still remember playing need for speed 2 as a kid :)
This campaign brought back memories! I loved the second track from the campaign in the original back then! And yes, I played it in 98 xD
Racing games were so cool back in the day - NFS, Ridge Racer etc. The way they would add changes after every lap (plane flying by, weather changes). This has been lost since most of these games have gone open-world.

"Let's assume that signs are not real" - seen some people who drive like that in real life XD
I sure hope you play more maps. Its crazy how good this looks for trackmania. Wonder if they also did these maps style for the other older NFS games.
another offline vid youtube gang we are so up. Really fun watch again, can't wait to see some more!!
oh god I'm a 99 kid and the Atlantica map looked so familiar, I remember playing old NFS games on my dad's computer but I never could recall which game

yeah Scrappie, these are one2one recreations, amazing that it is even possible

Awesome stuff super good remake of the OG maps, I played that game to death, when I was a kid
I didn't realise what it was gonna be until you loaded the first map and then nostalgia hit
Now I want to see NFS Underground tracks in Trackmania. They are pretty smooth.
Ah the memory lane
i never played *this* NFS game but I've played a few others and I'm pretty sure all the things with missing hitboxes - particularly the roadsigns - were things you could destroy, and with that not being possible in TM leaving them without hitboxes is the only way to preserve both the look and the original lines
