100 Languages of Children

One of the values of The Reggio Emilia Approach is The Hundred Languages.
"The hundred languages are a metaphor for the extraordinary potentials of children, their knowledge-building and creative processes, the myriad forms with which life is manifested and knowledge is constructed." - From Reggio Children
And they don't just mean the creative arts, dramas, pictures, buildings and drawings.
The hundred languages are also the many forms of expression, communication and ways in which children engage with the world.
It's our role to provide opportunities to explore the hundred and a hundred more languages children have. But it's also our role to not only understand a few of them.
