Great video! How is the exposure on this hike? Are there any narrow sections with steep drop offs? I'm thinking of doing it but heights arent my thing. Thanks!
Thank you:) Most parts of the way up are technically not challenging. The last 80 vertical meters are a little bit steeper and more exposed. But I think it should be feasible as long as the fear of heights is not too pronounced:)
@@maltmountain thanks for sharing! this is great to know, I must have been misinformed. I kept calling and no one was answering. Can book it all through the Sinac?
@@fairweatherfarmer I think we booked the permit through Sinac. And as I remember we did the payment for the hut separately. The name is CRC Chirripó. The whole booking process isn’t that easy😅.
@@maltmountain okay great thanks for sharing, I'll try and check it out. while I was down there this winter I heard from other travellers that you need a guide now so I wasn't able to book and climb. do you remember the location where you started the trail? is there a parking lot? trying to be more informed next time to make sure it happens :)
Hi, the hike starts at San Gerado de Rivas. The first day up to the camp is quite long (2100 meters up). The next day it is just 600 Meter in altitude to the top but all the way down to San Gerado de Rivas:)
Beautiful footage!! I just returned from CR where I did Chirripó in a day. Brutal hike but absolutely worth it. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Es el lugar más bello del planeta!!
Hermoso

were you guys able to just pay entry and go into the park or you need to schedule a guide in advance?
we paid the permit and the hut in advance via the website of the national park:). But you don’t need a guide.

Do you need to speak a lot of Spanish to travel there?
No, you don’t need to speak Spanish! Most of the time English worked well for us:)
