Journey Together is the next Main Series Pokemon Card Set and is expected to release on March 28, 2025. With all of the issues Pokemon Card Fans have had collecting sets like Prismatic Evolutions and Surging Sparks, the Fear and FOMO are already at an all time high out of the assumptions that they will not be able to find Journey Together Pokemon Cards. The Hype and Content surrounding Journey Together is not helping. With the Pokemon card demand at an all time high, collecting the newest Pokemon Card Set seems impossible. Really really suck to be a collector who just likes to rip packs and have fun. Really awful that us average folks have to set the hobby aside because of peoples greed. It’s really really sad.
Tragic and a shame. What an awful time for pokemon tcg pocket to be doing so well. Me and many people like me have always had to heavily consider buying into the physical card game with its exorbitant pay-to-continue-to-compete standard on top of whatever the hell kind of garbage is going on with rare card pull rates. This is supposed to be a game, with obtainable playable cards.
just skip sets until it calms down, buy stellar crown or something thats still reasonable
You can really notice on marketplaces, facebook and more that a lot of Sneakerheads and crypto bros switched over to pokemon to flip or "invest"

If you were at the store during restocks like the scalper is, you wouldn’t have to complain about the cost of their “greed” and you’d be opening packs.I hear all these people complaining and I’ve gotten product at multiple stores on each release day, and I live in a small ass town that doesn’t get a lot of stuff. Then everyone wants my shit for retail or less. I didn’t go to the store when they opened and wait in line to give it to you for retail Suzie Q. They had the same chance I had, but I was there and they weren’t. They’re in a comment section complaining about setting their hobby aside like a loser.

Pokemon is killing themselves. Went to 2 walmarts, 2 targets, 3 gamestops, a bestbuy, a barnes and Nobel and 2 local game stores. Completely cleaned out. It's been like this for a month! I'm over trying to find stuff to open. I dont even play the game but I haven't seen hardly anything since before surging sparks. How are people even playing the game?? How the Pokemon company fumbled this is absolutely beyond me
They did it on purpose. Remember 2 months ago shrouded, temporal, paradox all sat on shelves even discounted now it all sells out immediately no matter what set it is. Don’t fool yourself, The Pokémon company knows what it’s doing.
The last set I was able to comfortably get is Paldean Fates. (Also a little Shrouded Fables and Temporal, but no one really wanted those lol). It seems like everything else gets sniped three seconds before it even hits the shelves.
You're so right, I feel like they could be doing so much better if they kept stocking up instead of sprinkling a few items here and there.
Did you not listen to this video? Pokemon prints months and months in advanced… They printed the same as Surging, Stellar and ETC. They’re adjusting to the demands but it’s not going to happen overnight

I was part of the Prismatic Evolutions mini tin disaster on the Pokemon Center website today (but not for too long), and for kicks and giggles I opened a chat on the website and conversed with a rep. It went about as you'd expect: reading off a prepared script, no explanations and no answers. If they short-printed these sets because of what happened with Stellar Crown and Shrouded Fable, that's an astounding lack of foresight and planning on their part. And it's obviously going to keep happening for quite a while, so the mom or dad who wants to buy 3 or 4 tins for their kids to open-- can't, at least if they don't want to pay double MSRP. For a multi-billion dollar conglomerate, they really behave like a sad, pathetic little company, don't they?
Shops trying to justify selling above msrp is causing them to loose respect from their costumers. $10-15 over maybe we’d let it slide. But raising prices on new product to scalper prices is giving them a bad look.
but isn't this how any market works? If a car is in high demand, the dealership will sell above msrp no? Not the dealership's problem? Its the demands problem for causing prices to raise. (Scalpers wouldn't exist if demand wasn't high, although they are scumbags either way)
I would rather pay $300 to a LCS than $250 to a dirty reseller.

Allocations are rough. My local GameStop had 5 tins at opening this morning. Not five displays, just 5 tins. And no surprise boxes. And just 12 blooming waters. Ugh.
there was a GameStop i saw close to me that only had 4 Blooming Waters and NO Prismatic products.
Yeah, mine had i presume around 6 of them? I was the 9th in line and a few people infront of me left without any blooming waters and eventually I followed
There was a long line at the gamestop close to me. It wrapped around all the way to the Taco Bell a building over.
Also, the gamestop employee at a mall i went to said that there were 50 people already waiting outside before the mall even opened, and they were all sold out in a couple of mins.

My gamestop had 7 mini tins, 2 surprise boxes, and 17 blooming waters. 2 per person limit. A family of husband wife and a son got every bit of the prismatic and 6 blooming waters. I was 15th in line and didn't get squat.
This is great news! I have never seen Prismatic Evolutions in the wild and if this set is easier to find, I may spot a ripped booster pack some dork stole and ran with. The future of Pokemon looks bright!
💯. Just like today. I work 6AM to 6PM and missing out on everything the was released today. BUT, my family comes first and my bills have to be paid, so hopefully I can catch some online(probably not, judging by pokemon center crashing in 7 seconds) or I will wait until I am off for a release. Either way I ain't paying more than MSRP for any set or product. I am ok with missing out.
Totally understand. I work M-F at a school. I can't just take off because it's release day. Normally, I would go to work and on my way home stop off at my local GameStop or Walmart ( both in the same shopping center) that is 5 minutes away. Get some product and call it a day. Not anymore, sadly. Last Pokémon English product I bought was one Surging Sparks lunch tin(?). I hadn't gotten anything else from that set, but I felt like ripping, so I splurged, but after that, no more products were anywhere of any kind. Oh well, I guess I will see what happens with Team Rocket or eventually with the 30th Anniversary.
I open around $75 of product a week and don't like ordering anything online. The thrill of the hunt is a big part of the hobby to me. For the past 7 weeks I have found zero products to buy, checking at least 8 stores.

I really enjoyed your conversation about this. I personally am more of a pack opener than keeping it sealed so I am looking forward to Journey Together as it is looking to be a more mid range set that you can hopefully actually pickup and not pay x2 or x3
I didn't get much allocation for the tins too yesterday. Just 4 display sets for my customers and had to limit to 1 tin per customer 😢

The hunger for the set makes no sense to me other than it being swept up in the hype wave, much like early Surging slipped through really cheap because people were sort of bored after Shrouded and Stellar. Hopefully the set's actual release will cause some die down.
These sets out now are hype af. The only way this dies down is that collectors and players get fed up and get out of the hobby. I'm in that zone now. I spent thousands on surging sparks, and I only have 4 cards left for my master set. I've not spent that much on prismatic. Probably won't touch journey unless there's a huge market shift. I would love to get rocket, but no shot I'm gonna even look at it unless I can find it on shelves at msrp. Let the scalpers and even the "investors" sit and run up debt. There's probably plenty of product that exists right now to satisfy everyone in the market who actually cares about pokemon. It's all just sitting in an "investor's" living room
I remember reading and I don’t recall if this came from TPCi or not but I read they shifted more allocation to big box retailers away from LGS’s because of the mark up most LGS’s are adding to product.
Whether or not due to necessity the sad reality is the market pricing of LGS’s is in turn killing the allocation for LGS’s.
The future looks to be bleak for some time to come. I will navigate the best I can. I won't overpay. Been spending more than I should at regular price lately anyway, haha.
If I can't find the latest set, I'll evaluate what I can find and decide if it's worth my money to rip. Still a lot of cards I haven't pulled yet. Who knows. Maybe if sealed product dries up that badly, I'll look into the singles route. Something I rarely do but it might be a fun change of pace.
I like what you're doing here, Danny. I know I'm just a lurker for the most part but I'm a dedicated lurker, haha. I've always liked what you do with your channel, your shop, your breaks... everything. You're different, bro. That's why I've been a member for as long as I have been. This place isn't just different, it's special. You're definitely one of the good guys and for those that don't have the eyes to see that well, that's their loss.
The giveaways are nice but I love your content. You explain stuff and you’re important to the Pokémon community. You don’t make Pokemon feel like it’s just a dollar sign and you feel like you’re part of the community and you are.

Thanks for being understanding. It’s really hard when your kids ask for something and they work hard to get it and you try to go out to buy it for them and the stores are sold out. Then you see online scalper’s buying carts of cards packs And later selling them for outrageous prices. I can’t blame them 2-3 times more.

So i think we're learning that scalpers and rip n shippers, while a big problem, aren't the main problem.
Looking at all these stores getting basically nothing for allocations, I'm pretty sure like 80% of the product is now going to big retailers like best buy/target/walmart/gamestop etc.
This is causing a SENSE of scarcity because our known dealers sellout right away because they have like 2 boxes.
Big retailers put up limited pre orders so they don't oversell, everyone thinks there's a shortage.
The perception of everything being sold out triggers fomo, people pay over msrp, scalpers buy in by the truckload... it's a spiral of destruction for the hobby all because of big retailers.... again
I totally get the job aspect, I work 7a-7p lol by the time they stock something it’s long gone. I can’t sit at Walmart or Target waiting and hoping they come stock, I’m glad that you get that aspect of it
I work second shift. I can never find anything pokemon related in any stores near me. It's really disheartening. Especially cause I can only go out and look on the weekends, and everything is just completely wiped out by then. 🙄
Love the content, keep it up. I find the Blooming Waters release interesting so far being a new product with such a large gap in time from the set releasing.
I woke up at 5 am today for a chance at prismatic evolution. Refreshed the PC website over and over and over again... And nothing. My LGS said that they would only be selling in stores only. Went there 10 mins after they opened. There was no parking because of the sure amount of ppl trying to buy it. I'm so sad. I just bought a 4 pack of beer, went home and I'm now working on the last one already 😢

Highly recommend anyone do the prerelease events. Premade decks and 4 packs before hand and you get to meet and interact with other pokemon fans/collectors on an even playing field

I've been going to 6 or so stores in my area a couple of times a week, and there is still nothing at all. It's the most barren I've ever seen shelves. Seems like MJ holdings aren't even restocking anymore, or they're taking a break.
Im so fed up with the hobby as a collector who likes to rip packs. I'm probably gonna take a back seat going forward. Ill look at where I am if product starts to show back up on store shelves but this has been beyond frustrating to try and do anything within the hobby right now.

Im jist focusing on heatwave arena japanese for that Hooh and then the emglish heatwave/Team Rocket set. Prismatic is cooked and JT was never even on the menu for me haha. Life goes on though

Me and my daughters have got 1 binder and 1 sticker pack since release, every store I’ve gone to is bare shelves. Just sucks there’s so many people trying to make a dime off Pokemon, what’s even worse is they have no love for the hobby at all. 😢 I even stood at GameStop for an hour only to have the manager tell us he had 6 items, I was done at that point. We still enjoy the watching the series together but think we will have to sit out collecting cards until this storm settles 😔
I really should have gotten more stellar crown. For months we have had the etbs just sitting on the shelves at work lmao. As for today we had a bunch of the mabostiff and kleavor vstar just sitting there. Which surprised me since these past few weeks we have been cleaned out almost immediately
I dont know if this would be true, but could the shift towards booster bundles over sleeved boosters just be a result of tpc's strategy to meet demand? Maybe they just produce more booster bundles since they are less costly to package?
As a collector I have stepped away for now. Prismatic really was the last straw for me.

Hey man, as a third shift worker, assuming we have time to just stand in line is insane. We need sleep as much as the next person, and its harder to get a "good nights sleep" in the middle of the day. The lengths i go through to darken my room and silence the outside world. The taped blackout curtains, the daylight simulating alarm clock, the sign at the door telling people not to ring the doorbell. Idk i really took that remark personally 😂

The only way to fix it is to print more than the flippers can buy. Also, not allowing crazy purchase limits like 10 of each tin, meaning 100 tins. Why not one of each? Would that be too hard? They'd still sell out. I just don't understand it.

I went to my local card shop at 6am and waited for them to open at 10am and they only had 6 surprise boxes (not cases, individual box’s), 16 individual tins, 10 blooming waters boxes. This shop is a hidden gem and sold one item per person at msrp. Pokemon needs to do better and print to demand or at least half. No GameStop, Walmart or Best Buy had anything in my area.
I know it’s not optimal to get less ETBs and booster boxes, way more bundles seems to fit todays model of just ripping packs. There’s no extra fluff like with an ETB and it’s affordable to grab a couple bundles for the family to rip rather than a box. At least in today’s market. But you’re right that people need to just stop paying these insane prices and then the prices have to come down. I refuse to pay that much and if I miss out, that’s fine. I’ve been buying underpriced singles to grow my collection and have been happy with where my money has gone. 😊 I love your content and one of these days I’ll actually enter a master set giveaway 😂because I believe you do give them away. Thank you for everything you do for the pokemon community.

Hella worried when Journey Together comes out. My LGS is already trying to sell a singular Prismatic pack for $14.50 ☠ Safe to say I didn't buy any.
I stopped going to any of my regular shops doing that. Its bad to say but I hope the places doing this lose business and close. I know we should support small businesses but that is just ridiculous to do to customers that support you.
I dont mind people reselling stuff, or invensting in sealed..but man, I love ripping with my friends, family and godchildren, just for the fun of it (some actually play the game) and were basically sitting dry, havent ripped SP, havent ripped PRE and prolly wont be able to rip Journey or Team Rocket..tried to get some Prismatic tins yesterday but couldn't get any. I know its just a hobby for most of us..but it is getting really ...🎉🎉🎉
I started my 151 set very late, I still need about 10 cards to finish it. I've been waiting for a restock since September of last year because there was no reprint and no stock left in the EU for a reasonable price, mainly because the Pokemon Company website is always out of stock. After watching the Costco fights recently in the US seeing scalpers getting boxes and boxes of Blooming Waters and reselling them online makes me sick, I just wanna rip some packs and finish the set that I love and I don't that is ever going to happen now.
Most of my stores have been barren. I went early today and scrapped a few. My walmart also had Paldea Evolved ETB and Crown Zenith Tins. I think its all about being the early bird or a robot at the moment.
I hope they really ramp up booster bundle counts. All these investor bros think booster boxes are king but fail to realize that in the future, if products go "to the moon" like they want, that booster boxes are going to price out 95% of people. While a booster bundle will still appreciate a lot and have a lot more demand further increasing the value.

Local card store was charging $75 for the Prismatic Evolutions Binder Collections, $75 for a mystery box, and $35 for a tin. No Limits. I feel sorry for any kid that walks in with a $10 allowance thinking he can pick up a tin.
