Can we talk about how Lou nailed playing Kingston with Liz? Brennan was so fucking perfect with being Liz and then Lou with his low soft voice cracking a joke or two but telling her she was everything to him-my eyes watered.
Almost cried at the Sophia part and of course with the stone lions too. God, even Esther crying while shouting about how hot Ricky is was amazing.
I just paused after the conversation with Liz and Kingston and I'm wiping away tears now as I type this out. I hate sappy love story's but Kingston and Liz tug at the heartstrings. Can we get this as a TV series already!!!
The dialogue in these sessions are fucking gold. I wish they made like an animated series based off of these, they'd be so epic.

I love how this party is just a bunch of people with alot of messed up relationships and pasts and then there's just Ricky, goodboy of the year, never saw a knife fight in highschool, complete himbo, flawless human, good to his core and beyond... He really balances out the group...
Sophia: Family is in the mafia, mafia killed husband, and hated her family (except her mother).
Kingston: Sacrifices his time and we'll being to the city over and over again, gave up the love of his life and a possible future with her for it.
Pete: ...yeah.
Misty (Now Rowan): Escaped Faire, despised by the former ruler, has to perform a good show at a certain time or else she'll die.
Kugrash: Was a white collar criminal, turned into a rat by someone he scorned, lives in the sewers, and one of his son's hates him.
Ricky: Goodest boy.

Idea for a mini series: Unsleeping City: Critters.
Brian Murphy DMs a story where Kugrash enlists vermin heros to defeat a tiny evil. All the characters have to be the size of a rat or smaller. Rodents and insects, maybe a magical creature or two (how big do you think that excrement elemental is?). And Brennan plays Perry the Paladin Pidgeon, empowered by their undying love (or lust) for Kugrash.
I love this idea in every way possible
This is sort of like the tiny heist sidequest

It was a pretty inspiring moment.
It was the ultimate moment of, “I choose me. I am worthy.”
i'm so happy for esther. she deserves this. kug giving up the curse breaker is so selfless and just shows how far he's come it's beautiful
It gave Kug a moment of redemption that felt so real. He had to make a meaningful sacrifice to make amends for his selfishness. While the ability to lift a curse would have helped his own family, Gabriella and Esther's family could only be healed by an artifact that powerful. Both families were hurt by Kug's betrayal, but it was more important to take advantage of this rare opportunity to repair the deep impact on Gabriella's family.
This is also a beautiful illustration of the importance of reparations for intergenerational harms perpetuated in the US. A masterful way to tie a moment of character growth into the underlying theme of addressing the systemic, and often racially specific, damage caused by capitalism.

Last episode I was so stressed after everybody was stunned and paralyzed etc. and had a moment where all I could think was “damn, this is really just 7 full grown adults playing with action figures….. And I *love* it. Get a life.”

Had to pause. Almost commented when Brennan said Ruth was still alive, and then Ally caught me with their comment about if you’re watching after Ruth passes. Hit me right in the feels.
RBG was most definitely a paladin of Justice. And a righteous woman. She passed on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and even if her life hadn't been a sure sign of the truly righteous hero she was, the day of her passing absolutely way. I'm watching this now, a full year and a month after her passing, and I started tearing up when Brennan said that line, and then again when Ally looked at the camera and made their comment. Zichrona l'vracha. Her memory will _always_ be for a blessing to everyone.

Alejandro is Mexican (i think- or at least from a country that speaks Spanish), and in spanish, 'g's are always soft, so it makes sense given his country of origin.

Kingston and Liz’ conversation made me tear up. The heartache of loving someone who you parted ways with but finally having the conversation that’ll help understand each other better 🥺 Brennan and the rest of the crew are such great storytellers.

I’m almost embarrassed to admit this, but it wasn’t until this episode that I realized Ricky’s Axe was a Fire Axe. After all, the Questing Blade takes on the needed form for its wielder. Like the baseball bat.
Did you think he had a sword the whole time or some kind of medieval axe? It's interesting to look back and imagine Ricky using a different weapon instead of his fireman's axe in some scenes. I wonder if you've rewatched this series with the knowledge you have now and how different certain scenes are in your mind because of it.
He always weakens them in some way before the final battle... first was them having to save family in fantasy high... and now they’re down by spell slots and a bit of max health. I wonder if ally rolls another crit to come back to life and get deus ex machine like with headmaster agueforte?
It's the best way to make a fight feel like it has more stakes! I use it quite a bit and it's always tense
its the same thing that happens in other types of dnd campaigns, where the party has to go through a whole dungeon before fighting the boss, brennans campaigns just separate them a bit
