  • Albert Einstein is known for his genius in mathematics and science. What is lesser known is how World War I almost stopped Einstein’s name from being forever immortalized as one of the great scientists of history. Author Matthew Stanley explores how No Man’s Land not only separated the Allies and the Central Powers, but also the scientific community. Einstein’s partners came from many of the allied nations, particularly the United Kingdom. Nationalism and bigotry kept German speaking scientists from the English-speaking world in the years during and after the war, and both had to be overcome to prove the genius of Albert Einstein.
