Wow, bandana dee went from rogue to working for king dedede, back to rogue, then working for meta knight, then a good guy throughout the series. He must’ve went through a lot of troubles in his life.
I got say, I've never seen a character go from only walking forward as their attack to mastering the spear and parasol and helping save the world multiple times. Bandana Dee is one of the most improved characters in all of gaming, and that alone is a good reason to put him in Smash Bros.

That waddle dee was more than a regular waddle dee, he was a brave soul, braver than all the other waddle Dees. He came this far, still going. He is a true warrior.
I love how this character is literally identified by just the hat he wears. Same with Sailor Dee. Take the hat off and he's about the same as every other Waddle Dee. Something about that setup just makes me smile.
So This is the legend of Dee... A guy who started a a poor victim as a joke-boss ( 0:18 ) but is now capable of kicking "king dedede on steroids" ass ( 9:16 ) and even share a victory dialog and cutscene with Kriby ( 5:40 - 6:05 ). That's some big character devloppment! xD

He really isn’t a generic character, besides even if he was being a Generic character in smash has actually been done multiple times such as adding Yoshi, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Inklings and such. I’ve never seen him as just a Waddle Dee as he’s actually the strongest of them all with a great Spear and Parasol toolkit. Besides I don’t even think that Character background is all it takes to be in smash because R.O.B. Is just true neutral before he joined smash and he just still feels like a neutral. Besides Bandanna Waddle Dee even has costumes too pull from the games shown in the video. He’s on a higher priority than Geno to me.

I can't be the only person who wonders why they decided to give Bandana Dee a parasol in Battle Royale, even though spear is already in the game and would be much more fitting for him to have.
IntrovertedInkling You can give the Waddle Dee character, playable outside of story mode, different headgear and parasols, but you can’t customize Bandana Dee in the story mode, let alone completely change his weapon.
I think what makes Bandee so good is that he's extremely loyal. Be it for the King, Meta Knight or Kirby himself, he's willing to follow them and do his best to help them out. He's literally appeared in just about every game since Super Star Ultra, and I look forward to whenever his next appearance may be. He's just such a good boye~
I still remember how hyped I was when This bandana wearing reddish orange little Dee waddled his way into Kirby's return to Dreamland: The first game where he was a playable character for the first time. I mained the heck out of him. So yeah! Waddle Dee for Smash 4 port! Can sailor be in his final Smash? Or one of his specials... He and Bandana looked so adorable in Kirby mass attack. 😁

He’s legit one of my favourite kirby characters. He went from attacking everything and not caring to working for King Dedede to working for Meta Knight to allaying with Kirby and saving the world. To all the people who want him in smash; I’m sure he’ll get in, and if not as dlc in ultimate, then as an included character in the next smash bros installment. Cuz he’s first party character. I’d also really like to see him in smash, it’s really just a matter of time. The last Kirby character that was added was in, well, Brawl, so I think he’s fs getting in.

1. If he could talk and we know he can, he'd be voiced by Samuel Vincent the voice of Double dee from Ed Edd and Eddy
2. He's both dedede's sidekick like Escargoon but he's ALSO kirby's best friend and pal for life, an inseparable duo like spongebob and Patrick
