- In this video I put the SAMSUNG Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic through its paces. I tracked runs, brisk walks, bike rides, workouts, even a hike in upstate New York. And I compared it to a variety of devices, the Apple Watch Series 6 and Garmin's Forerunner 745. I also compared its Body Composition tool vs the WiThings Scale and InBody's $6000 machine. And the results may surprise you.Does Android finally have the smartwatch it deserves?

I've never seen a review of Galaxy Watch 4 that talking about BMI sensor so in detail: a really comparison between a professional machine which cost $6000 VS a smart watch of $250 and give the same result... incredibile, and the best review ever!
thats a lie cause you still need to input your height and weight. the calculation has nothing to do with touch your finger.
@@sugasuga878 guy the Galaxy Watch 4 give the same result of the profetional machine so... It works, doesn't matter how, he do it well
@@gabrielebenassi5558 you can do the BMI check using xiaomi body fat measuring scale that only costs 20 bucks..
@@sugasuga878
Don't say shit 😒
When you put your fingers in the watch, the watch produces a light electric current, and because of the difference in the speed of transmission of electricity from fat to muscles to... , you can calculate the percentage of fat and so on. Almost all companies use this technology, but the best company is the owner of this invention called inbody and it is more A minute from the rest of the bullshit in the market including xiaomi
ruclips.net/video/26Qw6SvKXSw/видео.html
And galaxy watch 4 did an excellent work
@@boudybahaa4133 I have a renpho smart scale that cost 30€ that does the exact same thing. Bioimpedance isn't that impressive.
UPDATES: Since publishing this video:
1.) Spotify now supports offline downloads.
2.) Telegram has been pulled from Wear OS
3.) I’ve learned that you can customize the amount of data displayed during workouts. Start a workout and click on the gear to dive into settings
Are you sure the Galaxy Watch 4 doesn't have heart rhythm detection? Pretty sure they mention they detect atrial fibrillation
@@homanh afib...the year I worked in the hospital 🏥 brings back memories.
@@homanh yes it does.
Watch also has a water lock to prevent accidental touches and also does have ECG to detect Afib.
@@homanh it can but they play the legal game in the app saying that it's not ment for it.
At 6:50 it's possible to turn on a "water lock" to prevent accidental touches. "Water lock" is a direct translation from my language, so don't know for sure if it's the right words on the English version.
And regarding download for offline listening on Spotify, it IS available now.
Yes there is a water lock
How do you water lock it?
@@Josh20777 should be in the upper menu when you swipe down.
@@Josh20777 it's in settings but can be found in quick settings, you'll be looking for a water drop symbol.
All it does it lock the screen so it cannot be used and also plays a beep sound to push water out of the speakers
Because most of these people are Apple simps. They want to pay for a product to pay even more for it. These people are basic, who don't know what technology really is. If something is more expensive, it simply means it's" better". Which is not. 😂
This is one of the in-depth review I have ever seen in my entire life. Thank you this review is very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
I second that
For being a fitness oriented review you covered almost everything in great detail while not making it overly complicated , thank you.
can you get those aumotatic suggestions he got for streching and walking in 8:52 ? from where we can turn that on settings on?
this video was so incredibly well made and informative, good job!
This was the most comprehensive, easy to understand, and entertaining review I've ever seen. Fantastic!
Update: Just got my Watch 4 and I love it! Love going for jogs without my phone but still with music in.
Have the same gripes of the lack of HIIT, and the really low Deep Sleep reading.
Hope Samsung sticks with it with updates moving forward!
What about battery ?
@@dinon367 yep for me, my 44mm is a 1 day device, maybe 1.5 in a pinch.
I've been pleasantly surprised with the GPS battery however - Am keen to do more testing, but today I went on a 3 hour hike with only about 30% battery drop - Samsung hasn't given any official numbers, but I can see it being a 9-11 hour Battery life with GPS ON (admittedly, I had to turn off some settings like AOD, and Wifi+BT). For Music + GPS runs, I've had about 25-35% battery drain per hour, so probably 2-4 hour battery life with GPS + MUSIC. TBH This isn't far off from some of the old Fitbit devices I've tried in the past. Again, keen to do more testing.
I think it's quite similar to the way that my friends have described their Apple Watches - I feel like that the Apple ones have similar shortcomings with battery + having to charge daily. The battery life is not amazing on the GW4, but I feel like it is line with a watch with these smart features, design, screen, and thin-ness!
Much appreciated! Going to purchase one today on the way home. Was a iPhone user a few months ago and had the Watch 3, wasn't too impressed. Unsure to what I'm looking to get out of this watch, but the entire package for the 46mm GW classic seems the way to my heart. Looking forward to merging my phone to it. Thanks!!
This is the first Fitbit I have used. It has some new features ruclips.net/user/postUgkxbkrje8Y7BaqRkAjimw-55ajvVo7RbcIp and I like the information that it gives me.I think the phone app could be designed to be a bit more accommodating, as it can be confusing to use. The rubber band is comfortable, and normally I do not like rubber bands for my watches, but this is comfortable.I am looking forward to seeing if this helps me stay accountable in my fitness endeavors! My only gripe is the box was very damaged when it arrived, however, the tracker is performing perfectly!
Best video I have seen. A clear and precise breakdown of what it actual does and offers and what to expect. Thank you🥳🙇
Awesome review! Love that you went so in-depth on the body composition analysis.
This video deserves more views . Thank you so much for the detailed video
These tests on the watch were really the only truly FULL review, not only for customers in Philippine but also Taiwan, and probably even for all videos on RUclips! Thank you tested on the machine InBody and compare with the watch!!
This is one of the most informative and best review I have ever watched on youtube. So much so that it has made my mind up as to whether or not I want one. 👍
Thank you for such detailed video!
I have watched so many reviews on this watch, this is by far the most helpful! Thank you heaps. I'll probably buy one tomorrow
VERY informative...covering points other reviewers never do..thank you.
Honestly the most helpful video I’ve seen, thank you.
The best in depth review so far. Love you man!
My watch arrives tomorrow... I can't wait!!! Thanks for this review!!!!
Damm dude, you are built 🔥🔥🔥, hands down the best fitness review for the galaxy watch 4.

@1:16 you had a lot of thoughts.
@1:12 you had a lot of abs.
Amazing review. Was really interested in the BIA featured and was shocked by how close it seems to the much, much more expensive (professional?) option.
Thank you very much for the review!
Excellent, thorough and informative review. Thank you so much for your work!
That was a great unbiased review, thank you very much from North Yorkshire England. I have been a Watch 4 user for a few months now and I just love it. Using the USB charger, my phone is up and running in about an hour to an hour and a half (40mm version) it had google assistant straight out of the box, the ecg will now warn you of any issues and the blood pressure monitor is both easy to set up and darn accurate too. I love the sleep tracking and have no issues with the deep sleep monitoring whatsoever. I guess in a year the watch 4 has improved dramatically. The Watch 5 was on sale when I got mine but I could not justify the extra cost and the 4 is an absolute bargain. If anybody is in the market for a top end smartwatch, the Watch 4 is a no brainer must purchase.
Great review! Thank you so much!
Your clips are the best as always my friend!
Thank you.
Continue this for all the fitness trackers cheers for the vid and your upcoming success
Best review Ive seen until now
Best review i've watched so far
Hey Michael! Just discovered you today. Was looking for a Galaxy Watch 4 review. And I must say, this is the best review out there by a huge margin. Unlike other youtubers who just walk us through the specsheet and add their opinions, it really shows in the video that you have throughly tested the device and your review is more from the user's point of view. Covers everything I wanted to know before I make a purchase. Have pre-ordered it. Let's hope it doesn't make me regret not buying Fitbit Sense which has a much better battery life I have heard and all the health features are approved here in India. On that point, none of the previous Samsung Watches got full approval here which makes me sceptical for this as well. If one takes out ECG & BP functionality, would you say there are better value for money alternatives out there? Coming from Emporio Armani Smartwatch 3 which only had heart rate tracking, this is certainly a big upgrade, but the battery life of my EA was a huge concern for me, had to charge it twice daily, which by the looks of it seems like it will be haunting me with this one as well. Great video anyways, just a small suggestion, if possible talk a more about the mechanics of certain features, like how they work, how are the insights etc.
how is ur watch doing after a year....can u pls elaborate it little abt its accurecy and other details...thank u😀
@@jagsbond it is working fine. right now in India it is available for under 8000, in that price range it is certainly the most accurate Smartwatch out there but it absolutely isn't medical grade so you have to keep that in mind. BP and ECG are not yet available in India but you can always side load them and use them in India. ECG is pretty accurate but BP not as much, it is a good indicator but you cannot relay upon it when you need it like when you are feeling some discomfort. activity tracking has been very good on this watch I have nothing to complain about sometimes when I am not using GPS then accuracy of my path can be a bit off but mostly it is acceptable. again we have to look at the price we are getting it and in 8000 rupees this will be the most accurate watch you will find. battery life is anywhere between one day and 2 days depending up on the usage, how much activity tracking have you done how much display you are using and if you are using mobile networks. it still has three major updates over 2 years left so nice right now is any good a time to buy it.
can you get those aumotatic suggestions he got for streching and walking in 8:52 ? from where we can turn that on settings on?
Absolutely brilliant review as always
Thank you.

Thank you for the great and detailed video!
Great Great, review, you are of my favorite reviewers here on RUclips, thank you 😊 😀
One of the best reviews that I have seen 👍. Hope in future these smart watches have a battery life of at least 48 hours. Till then, I will stick to my Coros watch for tracking my long runs. I currently get over 2 weeks with single charge.
Finally! A watch review that's really all about health and fitness!!! 😍
You're too kind.
We already had the Apple Watch…lol
I love this watch!!
Hey, I really love how u inform us! subscribed.
Great review! This will significantly improve my exercise and overall health. I won't have to take my phone with me anymore to listen to music and that's a huge plus since I don't have to worry about the size of my phone anymore.
Sorry to ask question to you after you commented 2 years ago, but do you can link your samsumg heath app to your phone even when the phone is away, I mean you can you just go workout without your phone and then go back to your phone and can all the new data that collected when the phone is away to the phone and update to samsung health app in phone. Sorry for a long question.
I can tell a lot of effort was put into this review. Nice one!
great video. thanks
Great video
The best review on galaxy watch 4!!
This is an amazing review, thank you!
Thanks, great review! Keep up the good work
Great review. I have a Samsung Gear S3 and have been waiting to upgrade because Samsung has only made minor updates through the years. I thought this would be the year to get into a new Samsung watch, but the lackluster fitness tracking and the incredibly poor battery life convinced me to go with a Garmin Venu 2. I get 10 days of battery life and amazing fitness tracking including coaching and building your own training plans. The only thing I lost was the ability to take calls from the watch. I liked that feature, but not enough to take such a hit on battery life.
The build your own workouts thing is one of the main reasons I'm considering venu over the Samsung. I know the app workout trainer will allow you to build workouts for the Samsung but that's one more place to have to view stats rather than just the connect dashboard. :/
can you get those aumotatic suggestions he got for streching and walking in 8:52 ? from where we can turn that on settings on?
If you are mentioning about water touch, please also mentioning about the water lock feature.
And you can change the data field for workout to show whatever you want in one page.
Brilliant review had to watch the whole thing. Very professional unbiased review. Thanks. Subscribed!
Appreciate it man
Flawless review, amazing! my mind is made up!
Much detailed review 😃
Best review of this watch I've seen
Excellent and very in-depth review! Subscribed!
I'd like to point out that every missing feature that is mentioned is purely software things, which means that apps and/or software updates can put them in the watch in the future. And I find that great!
Good review thanks.

Amazing review. Well detailed and well explained. Definitely getting me one of those.
I really appreciate the detailed reviews regarding fitness, the only reason I'm tempted to get the galaxy smart watch is to better track my workouts and burned calories to go along with my samsung phone fitness ap etc.
I loved your videos! all the best wishes for the new year! I will buy this watch in Colombia! now it is on sale for about 275 us dollars. 44mm non LTE.

superb review, this kind of review I'm looking for. I hope BP measurement feature is included here in Philippines
Awesome review sir! Thanks!

Thank you so much for mentioning the issues with deep sleep measurement. I've had this watch for 6 months and have been wondering how I'm even surviving on one or two minutes of deep sleep per night!

As a die hard 10+ year Samsung user it was "hard" to accept the devices shortcomings 😟 BUT it was great to see such a detailed comparison between other devices. It's a great pair to my S22 ultra and it has all I need to fit my lifestyle. Can't wait for it to catch up to Apple Watch! Great deal at T-mobile... trade in old galaxy, get credit, purchase newer phone and get the watch free
can you get those aumotatic suggestions he got for streching and walking in 8:52 ? from where we can turn that on settings on?
Stellar review, more insight, groundbreaking discovery and not to mention the style used to express seamless transition of the functionality of the watch.
in all, it puts the icing on the cake I say well-done josh, Top-notch.
16:13 I found the included charging plug charges the watch the quickest: still slowly but well under 2 hours 0-100%. The Wireless Charger Duo and Trio both are slower, giving the quoted extremely slow charging times.
I have the same problem with my Watch Active2, while in the shower. I had found that you can just use the "Water Mode" which will block accidential touches, but still allows you to read incoming notifications and such.
Great video, just subscribed 👍
Awesome, thank you for the Sub.
