Ed reed or Ray Lewis we need these guys on the pivot. Also just want to say this is by far the best podcast the conversation is always natural never feels pushed or coerced into something ppl don't want to talk about just a great show every time!!
John Lynch was a MONSTER on the field. Men feared being hit by this man. Even knocked out his own brother-in-law in a game. He was an important piece of that vaunted Bucs defense of the late 90s and early 2000s. It sucks he didn't finish his career as a Buccaneer, but he will forever be a Bucs legend.
One time when playing vs my chargers as a bronco I just remember being so worried that he’d catch LT during the game. One play Jesse Chapman subs in for a carry and John Lynch absolutely destroyed him. Helmet off, mouth piece in air, fumble, injury, concussion. I thought LT died. I still felt bad for Jesse though…but man I was worried he got LT for a second 😂. Watching this game on TV I had to replay it so many times.
This fellowship John LYNCH speaks of in the Locker Room is the same thing that drives Military relationships . There is a camaraderie like no other that bonds them together for life . As usual The Pivot knocks it out the Park !
Thanks again guys, your selection of guests is well rounded. John Lynch's perspective and experiences that led to his current career and lifestyle is extremely informative and hella entertaining!! The humility that all of you guys display is refereshiing and inspirational beyond comprehension. GOOD WORK!!!!!! THANK YOU ALL!!!!
John Lynch was a beast back then with the Buccaneers with their defense. A Force to be reckon with and their defense was up there with the Ravens in the early 00'. Top 10 safety for sure
JOHN LYNCH, if you ever see this, I want you to know that you are the best thing that could’ve ever happened to this team. I’m so enamored with your dedication and talent. I feel incredibly blessed to be a fan of a team with the greatest GM in the NFL. Not to mention, just an all out Beautiful human! I love the Bond, chemistry, and communication you and Kyle have. It’s a beautiful thing to watch. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON’T EVER GET OLD. Make sure you tell Kyle that too. This Niner team is my favorite and I don’t think it can get any better than this without JEDD York, you(John Lynch) or Kyle as the faces of this franchise! Thank you for all that you do for this team John!! U duh Man! ❤💛♥️💛
I love these type of interviews . Former goat players turned broadcaster / coach/ to the gm .. that’s crazy.. but it’s amazing . I used to watch lynch growing up playing madden .. that bucs team back in the 2000 was crazy stacked . But lynch was a beast frfr . And doing a great job with San Fran .. Great interview ..
On MNF, Rams v Bucs, Lynch plastered Marshall Faulk on a run play. Faulk got up and told 47, 'Just bring it John!' but the way he said it, he was clearly dazed and was seeing stars------47 yelled back at him, 'Yeah, you don't like being hit, do you!!??' Loved it!!
so beautiful and breath taking to hear how he was accepted in the locker room with the majority ....as an Black African came to Europe as a student, I was more happy and felt accepted when I was playing football than when I was in the lecture room.....Yap' I get it.
If you look up "America's Game 2002 Buccaneers" (it first aired in 2007), Sapp mentioned that exact "you that hard ass hitting white boy" line in that episode 😂
Glad Lynch named the lesser mentioned guys on that '02 Bucs SB team. Simeon Rice has HOF #'s. Shelton Quarles a long-time starter, Greg Spires a lunch pail guy, and the Brian Kelly a great corner who had a 10 int season
Great interview. Knew Lynch was a great player, but learned much about his background and see him in a completely light. I say this because much of my take on him as an NFL executive (and human being) came through the prism of how the 49ers handled the Kapernick situation, would love to have heard Lynch's nuanced take on the subject. Guessing Cap remains a third-rail subject even for the Pivot.
Definitely agree, if the world could be like a locker room, it would be amazing, my time playing in college and high school was amazing, nobody takes jokes to seriously, it’s all love an having each other back.
It would be great if Lynch could speak to WIT and how that affected the Trey Lance decision. I imagine that metric changes over time, it would be interesting to hear about that specific progression in talent.
Trey’s wit is questionable. There’s a lot you can’t control(playing time) but there’s also a lot you can control(attitude, film study, football IQ, football accuracy, etc…) I don’t believe he was overdoing Purdy and Sam in all these. It always comes down to who wants it more. Purdy came back early from injury. Sam took less pay. If anything, Trey had the advantage over both of these guys during the off season. Trey knew the playbook and been healthy a lot longer.
Can we get a Rodney Harrison interview. I want to know from his standpoint on why he’s not in the NFL hall of fame. I feel like the pivot can get the best out of him in a interview.
Agreed, definitely an overlooked guy. Dude was a beast! I believe the catch he gave up to David Tyree in the super bowl is what they hating on him for tho. Same with Roger Craig’s fumble. Both have given up huge plays that altered dynasties. Both much deserving.
@@OG_Phil225true. If he breaks up that pass Randy Moss gets a ring. Junior Seau too. It would’ve cemented his legacy. I still think he was a pivotal part of the Patriots dynasty. They brought him in to replace Lawyer Milloy and he not only replaced him but became the heart and soul of that defense. Absolute Star player that got forgotten about during the chargers run. Never took plays off even during the struggling years. To me he is a Hall of Famer. But Rodney had a bad reputation for being known as a “dirty” player because of his hits. Him and Lynch were like brothers from another mother.
@@df6148 I totally agree. The crazy part about the Tyree catch is that Rodney went for the ball instead of just delivering a hit to tyree like we’re all used to seeing Rodney do. If he would have just hit tyree instead of going for the ball there’s no way Tyree comes down with it. & man him and Junior Seau on the chargers were incredible.
Ed reed or Ray Lewis we need these guys on the pivot. Also just want to say this is by far the best podcast the conversation is always natural never feels pushed or coerced into something ppl don't want to talk about just a great show every time!!
Ray Lewis would be epic
Ed has an episode
"hard ass white boy that be knocking people out" 🤣🤣
Really good conversation where the guest gets to speak freely, once again, without interruption. Bravo 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
We need a Ed Reed or Ray Lewis interview
With Ray's son recently passing, that would be an emotional interview and different than it would have been before
Woodson as well...
Ed Reed would be crazy,ii
Been saying Ed Reed!
I would love to see Ed on here. He doesn’t talk too much to the media or give many interviews, so that one would be huge

They say that this man would sit in the showers for hours after a game crying with headaches!!! Self-inflicted, I must add. A true head hunter 💯
The interview quality on this channel is amazing. You get more out of these athletes than others do. Thanks so much for doing this!
another new quote to live by. "Autograph your performance"
Amazing leader , player, and human being that is able to relate and bring people of all different backgrounds together !!
Hell of an episode!! Keep on keeping on gentlemen

Lynch mentioned Simeon Rice. Dude wasn't a run stopper, but he was a *monster* at getting that quarterback.
He deserves HOF consideration.
I swear his Tomahawk swipe literally changed the game. Everybody was using it after him. Forcing fumbles on QBS like crazy.
There’s a clip of Simeon running down Michael Vick from behind. Idk how many DE’s could do that!
John Lynch ✊🏾 ❤ Bro. Thanks for this one.
Great knowledge. Great Pod as always. I'm a Niner fan so this is a treat
John was a beast! Top 10 Safety no debate
Young ppl don't realize how dominant he was ...very fun to watch

Always thought he was a hard working, blue collar style classy guy. This interview proved it. Pivot keeps getting better!
"a model for our society as a whole", truer words have never been spoken
What a man’s man 💪🏽
Lynch was on one of the best NFL defenses ever. He was no joke as a safety.

Naw, let them boys stay locked in , they can do the interview after we win the SB😈

Great talk by Lynch. The importance of family, ambition, passion, and work.
OG Fred was like i won’t beat your ass for stepping on my shoe cause you my boy 😂
The 49ers should NEVER get rid of the Lynch-Shanahan combo.
Jeezy during practice makes so much sense

Who else dee Ford?

Bruh y’all genius. How gah damn ironic the day this drop, they make a trade. Y’all on point with it
