  • Michael Jordan "waved bye-bye" to Spike Lee and the New York Knicks, as his 35 points led the Bulls to a series-clinching 94-81 win at the United Center.
    After nailing a three in the fourth quarter, MJ waved goodbye to Spike Lee, the famed director and avid Knicks fan - as if to say "Game over. Go home."
    With the win, the Bulls advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals to square off against the Orlando Magic, the team that knocked the Bulls out of the playoffs the season before.
    NOTE: RUclips member "k0r0ne79" has games one and two from the Magic series on his page. Member "hoopsencylopedia" has game four.

    You know, if you look closely, you'll see the late, great movie critic, Gene Siskel, sitting next to Spike Lee. Gene Siskel was a die-hard Bulls fan, as some of you may remember.

    I am about a year younger than Jordan. I was a Bulls fan in the 70's when Jerry Sloan was the star, The period right before he got there was a wasteland for Chicago sports. I found several things interesting about his career. One is he was amazing a s a Young player, relentless and unbelievably physically gifted., "air Jordan." He really was not that guy at this point. I actually enjoyed this era more, because he was a genius of basketball. His fakes, the way he palmed the ball like we was has doing slight of hand tricks, he post up game was amazing, and we as always had been was still the ultimate closer, And he was a better passer than most remember.

    This 1995-1996 Nulls team was the best NBA team of all time. Think about it. They had the best player of all time. Arguably the second best player in the league at the time. The best rebounder in the league at the time. Arguably the top three defensive players at the time. The best three point shooter at the time. The sixth man of the year. A huge backcourt as far as size ( Jordan & Harper are both 6'6

    • @TheStygianAbyss24
      @TheStygianAbyss24 9 лет назад +1

      ***** damn bro, i expected an illogical answer from you there. thought you were just another lebron fan hahaha. but nah, i mean jordan wanted to win at all costs, he might have taken over some games but that's because he really wanted to win. in practices, this guy yelled and got in fights with his own teammates if they weren't working hard enough. i truly believe pippen only became the player he was because michael pushed him to his limits. its just inspiring seeing someone want to win so much that everyone else in his team wanted to win as much as him. that takes something special.

    • @anthonyanderson9303
      @anthonyanderson9303 8 лет назад +3

      +Sam Yancy Yea but if you actually watch the games you can see he was so much more than just scoring and he absolutely elevated the level of play of everyone around him. Guys like Steve Kerr and Judd Buschler stepped their game up because of MJ. Scottie Pippen, my God. If you saw him at the beginning of his career how shy and timid he was and afraid of physical play and adversity, fast forward to this point he was a completely different player and that's all cuz of playing with Jordan. Jordan demanded excellence like no one else ever and yea that partly made him an asshole of a person but it made everyone else better as a result.

    I think Rodman got his 2nd technical on purpose. He knows the Bulls already had the series won and he decided that he won’t be needed anymore, contented with his 11 points and 10 rebounds. He decided to entertain the crowd a little bit by starting his crazy antics to allow the ref to give him his 2nd technical which means ejection. On the way to the dressing room, he trashed-talked the entire Knicks bench and coaching staff before removing his shirt and threw it to the crowd before heading to the showers. Even the Bulls team and coaching staff were having a good laugh at his antics. This is vintage Dennis Rodman at his best.
    This is also the best time to be a Bulls fan. That lucky fan came to watch his team and went home with a free jersey.

    It's a tough call, the only reason I give the edge to the Lakeshow is because the Bulls had no one to guard Kareem(even when he was barely getting up the court). That said, the Lakers would have essentially been destroyed by Jordan. Jordan is a freak of nature that will never, NEVER, be duplicated. Greatest of All Time is correct, nothing else to be said

    I remember during this time people in 1996 said Orlando was supposedly going to give Chicago a run for their money New York and Seattle did a better job of that,they did take a game or two, Orlando got swept. Orlando still had Shaq,Penny and Dennis Scott all series even if Horace Grant,Nick Anderson and Brian Shaw were injured.

    The Bulls offense was always going to be elite. But when they added Rodman, they become unstoppable as far as defense, that's what helped them get past Orlando. Jordan was always the leader, but he definitely had a great group of guys with him.

    • @Wis_Dom
      @Wis_Dom 6 лет назад +1

      Lebron had better guys around him. So it's more than that. What made the Bulls were the fact that each player knew their roles and didn't try to exceed past that. They were not that amazing individually, but together it worked perfectly. #Team

    I wouldn't slouch on Derek harper when it comes to defense. But overall, he did all he could to try to "contain" mj, you can only hope to limit his scoring opportunities. You can't stop him alone. Harper's a tough defender learning from pat Riley himself. But again, Jordan is in a class by himself

    I wish there were teams like this today. There's Kobe and Lebron but you combine them and you kind of get a jordan but a jordan with crutches, broken arms, cataracts, and an overall inability to play basketball.
    I'm not hating and yeah I am exaggerating by quite a bit (duh). It's just that jordan was an incredible player and we might not see anything like him again for a long time.
