  • Lawmakers are considering new rules to boost privacy protections in a bipartisan bill labeled the American Privacy Rights Act, which would place limits on the personal data that companies can collect and share. The co-sponsor of the bill, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., says this is “the best opportunity we’ve seen in decades” to pass the legislation.
