United Afrika? The countries are not even uniting on a regional level in ECOWAS and folks continue to daydream about unity for the continent? The continent will never be a unitary state. Some countries may choose to cede their nationhood and sovereignty to merge into a new entity. See EAC to EAF. Others are headed in the opposite direction, with further balkanization or secession from within. See Naija or Cameroon for national example. Or ECOWAS with its current impasse with the Francophone breakaway countries, for regional examples. Ultimately, it will be up to the respective populations to determine how they choose to move forward. Their decisions will be respected. Some countries prefer to stand alone than to lay down together in chains.

United Afrika? The countries are not even uniting on a regional level in ECOWAS and folks continue to daydream about unity for the continent?
The continent will never be a unitary state. Some countries may choose to cede their nationhood and sovereignty to merge into a new entity. See EAC to EAF.
Others are headed in the opposite direction, with further balkanization or secession from within. See Naija or Cameroon for national example. Or ECOWAS with its current impasse with the Francophone breakaway countries, for regional examples.
Ultimately, it will be up to the respective populations to determine how they choose to move forward. Their decisions will be respected.
Some countries prefer to stand alone than to lay down together in chains.
