Interesting video. I found that it was nearly impossible to follow the online registration tool in the UK I had to make several calls to Ryobi to work out what they meant and it was the longest registration process ever. I can get a passport quicker. I hope you didn't have to use your "I am a YTber and I promote tools on my channel" to get the service you describe. Good videos, well explained. Thanks.

I didn't have any issues registering. I wonder why it's so different from country to country.

UK infrastructure for a non UK company is probably the reason, still done now and I know what to do next time. In your view is Ryobi similar or worse reliability to eg Bosch?@@DadItYourselfDIY

Wow in New Zealand and Australia if you register it on line you get 6 years warranty - and warranty claims for Ryobi is just going to the local hardware store (Bunnings) with the receipt and they swap it out there and then. With AEG or (Ridged USA label) it the same except Bunnings have to send it back to AEG for assessment which I've heard takes ages.

It was similar here. The Home Depot portion just ended in the past year. But you can exchange it with a receipt within 30 days.

Does bunnings promote the no wait warranty? Cuz that’s awesome, a walk in walk out warranty process? Who wouldn’t like that, none of red, green yellow, teal, orange, gray none of em just HF maybe master force but they’re similar to park side but less expansive , none of them have a great warranty turnaround comparatively that is but I’d think companies like buntings and harbor freight (with their Hercules and Bauer tool lines that have that benefit) would be promoting or advertising a no wait warranty process as for someone that needs to work, that could be a dealbreaker. Again idk if they promote it or not just wondered

I have a feeling Harbor Freight is a little more liberal with their exchange policy.

@@Jeff-rk8hq No they don't promote the no wait warranty, over here Ryobi is a DIY power tool so trades don;t use them.

Thanks for the info! I've collected many of the Ryobi tools myself, so that is good to know. The biggest problem I've run into is battery replacement. If you buy a tool that comes with a battery, they won't replace the failed battery unless you can figure out what tool it was paired with. This can be daunting if you have many tools that you bought with batteries. Have you registered the batteries? OR when you register the tool that comes with a battery, does it show that? Side note: I haven't registered any of my tools.

The key is registering them when you buy them.

Would you happen to know if Ryobi will honor their manufacturer warranty if the tool in question was not purchased new by the current owner but is within the intial warranty time? Thanks

If it's within three years you shouldn't have a problem. Just register the tool and select the "No Receipt" button.

I never register anything and they take it back. I just returned the 18v 2 gallon Chemical Sprayer to Home Depot after 9 months and no issues. The service centers are a joke they told me a year to look at my lawnmower. RETURN RETURN RETURN lol

Returns are always preferred, but they don't take everything back.
