- Heater blower stopped working? It may be the fan speed controller module which is easy to diagnose, access and replace. This is for the earlier models without climate control.
Hmm. Yours has 4 wires in the 4-pin connector. I only have 3 wires. And my controller is potted, not with the two chunky transistors visible.
I bought a replacement blower and that only had a 3-pin connector, but with + and - the opposite way round!
And the new one would only run at full blast, not slowly. My controller knob appears to be a 0-500 Ohm resistor ladder. I'm trying to work out how the controller on this actually works and how many different blower/controller variants there are. I'm getting one with a 4-pin connector tomorrow - lets see if that works any better.(My vehicle is the Peugeot expert 1997 van but clearly things are quite similar but not identical. Vehicle debugging is such fun.)
Update: the 4-pin version of the fan worked fine. So the 3 and 4-pin version of the fan appear to have opposite sense of the control voltage, as well as the power sense the oppose way round.
@@xxwookeyI´m still struggling with my 1996 Peugeot 406. The fan only works in the minimal set, if I try to increase the speed, it slows the fan speed. I tried to replace the digital controller (new and old seems to be in working conditions) I noticed this controller sends about 8.3 volts to the pins 1 and 3 (those with thin wires) I suspect it should be sending 8V to 12V to these pins and speeding the fan as voltage increases. The fan controller is new too.
