Subscribed! Great 'insider' view. I was surprised at how much manual work goes into these hoses, though. Despite that your host commented he'd been doing this for some years, the appearance was that his is a new hose startup-manufacturer, with all the open floor-space (no tables) used to manually haul hoses around. Especially the process of pulling the latex through the jacket: it cries out to be improved. American labor rates could never support that process without more automation...and band-aids...
I'd love to see your insider-peek at of the window-building industry, since I've been forever shopping for a small manufacturer of PVC and/or aluminum types. It's often not easy to tell who is a trading-company vs an actual manufacturer...would be nice to know the pros and cons of that. (Alibaba seems to be full of misleading information in general, and of little help in that respect.)

The expandable garden hose is a small niche product, no technology involved but mainly labor. This one is considered as one of the largest, supplied a lot of big Amazon sellers in US. Other hose manufacturers, they are even smaller than this one.
There’s no big and scaled manufacturers making this item. This kind of empty space manufacturer is very normal in China for small niche products, and they can control cost very well, for providing competitive price.
They are paying like $2.5/hour for workers making the hose.
