So, now that the DLC has been out for a bit, what are your opinions on it? I think Studio MDHR really outdid themselves on this one! 18:58 Also, I found out after posting this video that "the 666 audio file" is actually just an easter egg, and doesn't have anything to do with piracy... @@PurpuriteRite I mean, they had to draw all of it by hand. I think it's annoying that you say that because that's technically making someone draw 100+ animations with just paper and pencil and then say "meh. Try again." Sooo yeah, you cant blame them for taking a long time to make it
yeah miss when there were an ammount of comics and AUs comparible to undertale or something, it was nice having like all the dam casino cups we could ask for.
- I think the rowboat on the left of Cuphead's and Mugman's house is what will take you to the DLC. If I recall the DLC will take place on a different island. - The green creature used in Cuphead's prototype is actually the unofficial mascot of the Moldenhauer brothers, and is meant to resemble a kappa, a yokai from ancient Japan that is still referenced today in various pieces of media. - A reference I think a lot of players tend to miss is the locked gate beside Rumor Honeybottom's building, which is a reference to Super Mario Bros. 3 in which defeating a castle boss unlocks the gate like it does in Cuphead.
a lot of unused stuff appears in the new dlc, flying gentleman is in a boss, the light is also in a boss, and some unused weapons, and the airship octopus thing is kind of like the knight
Fun fact: The scrapped weapon you mentioned that shoots three projectiles can be seen in the new trailer for Delicious Last Course (but the projectiles are yellow).
3:44 Sally's husband was also added in this update and he wasn't part of the original launch game. The husband and horace were both scrapped very late into development and later added in this update.
8:40 The OST track Rugged Ridge was written for this level before the run n guns were actually going to be in the game. The level got scrapped so they wrote more ragtime tracks for the other levels. The track (rugged ridge) is supposed to sound like an Arcade machine breaking down at the end.
Fun fact , the 666 audio file is actually an older version of the main title theme, reversed, distorted, and with other sound effects. The original version can also be found in the files, and talks about Cuphead entering a tournament, instead of gambling away a soul like in the final game.
The file 666 audio isn't for pirating it is used when the player reaches the devil and gives up cup heads soul. When the player would go to the title screen it would play file 666
I have some info on unused bosses: • The Demon Bat has three phases, phase 1 is the flying bat with attacks such as “Bat Bouncer” (idk what it did), phase 2 is the coffin form with attacks such as “Cross Toss” (wtf would that do?), and phase 3 had the bat becoming a wolf with attacks such as “Wolf Soul” (could of been like one of Mortimer Freeze’s phase 3 attacks with the ice cream). • The Spider had pencil test animations of attacks and stuff, but the playable prototype from 2013 is just a simple test.
Also "The Light" was the original Cuphead (I Nickname him Cockhead) character concept in the 2010 (yes Cuphead is 12 years!) prototype, although he didn't shoot because he didn't have an animation FOR shooting probably because Studio MDHR had already did the simple animations OR... yeah I got nothing for a second thought. The horse in "The Kings Leap" is just a clone of "Jelly The Octopus"
Hey! I noticed some misinformation on this iceberg. The anti-piracy is actually fake, there are no anti-piracy measures in the game. someone messaged Ryan Moldenhauer, one of the games devs about it, and he said that there were no anti piracy measures and it could possibly be a fanmade mod of some sort.
So, after 6 years, the unused creepy main title screen theme mystery has been solved. It is indeed, in fact, used, but it's hidden. I'm pretty sure you may know by now how to get it, but if you wanna know and try it for yourself, first give in to the devil in order to get the bad ending. Then, once the title screen pops up, proceed to the next menu, then input the Konami code. If done correctly, the creepy audio will play. Creepy.. Kudos to the person who found it, though

I found this through the topic page for Cuphead and I think I'll share my thoughts about it. Hope this isn't too badly formatted. 1:49 - That sounds like a really fake reason for a name change to me. But who knows? I wish the beet boss got in. Cuphead could use some more of the dark humor such 1930's cartoons had. The only thing I can think of is Wally's knockout animation. 6:25 - There's really no discernible reason for why something would exactly go unused. Basically, it's just something the developers didn't like or think was good design. For example, I think unused attacks like Werner's pink bullet cannon attack (completely finished by the way) is perfectly fine and that Werner could use some more difficulty. But game design is subjective, and the devs must've thought otherwise. Also, I think the placeholder graphics were supposed to represent some sort of water spiral. 11:24 - In the card fight, the blocks drop where you stand. So it's not pure randomness. Honestly looks better to fight than Mr. Chimes. 12:25 - I would consider "ranger" a different weapon from "exploder", but I guess it is the same weapon, just with a new gimmick (probably was seen to be too similar to peashooter). In early Cuphead images you can see it was indeed called "exploder". 13:36 - One thing that most people probably don't know is that Lucien has dialogue for if you haven't talked to Quadratus (death counter guy) yet. Because most would talk to Quadratus first, considering he's near the start of the Isle with Lucien being all the way at the back. Sliverworth with him and his A-grades seems kinda elitist (AKA based) to me... 14:18 - Wide shot's piercing ability is intentional. The description for the weapon says: "Lock in place to focus the attack. Long range with piercing ability." This weapon's name can be seen in images with an earlier HUD, like with the exploder weapon. 14:40 - I think there's around 3 or 4 unused run n' guns, actually. Not sure. I think they did the better choice choosing quality over quantity. 15:09 - All of the feathers were definitely not supposed to be pink. Just occasionally pink here and there, like other patterns. That's just how Nervatel got it working. He mentions it in the desc. The mods of Cuphead that add it in get it right. 15:47 - Toast boss for DLC when? There is a food theme! 16:29 - Goopy has some unused things I think I should mention. He has an unused intro animation, where he does the cartoon trope of staring at the player in shock, with lines appearing in the direction of his sight. See Sally's starting animation for the second phase if you don't know what I mean. He also has an unused animation for the third phase transition, where he makes a face very similar to Mike Tyson's sprite in Punch-Out!! when you hit him. This is still in the game, but looks a bit janky in comparison to how it looked in early gameplay. 17:54 - Pit saver also increases your invincibility frames. This stat was actually nerfed in 1.1 (I think), so that's weird. 18:58 - This audio file playing if you pirate the game is a urban legend. It is simply not true. It's just a audio file that was added in 1.1. Lil' messing (trolling, if you may) around by the devs. The game does have a "spoopy!!!" easter egg in-game, though. If you edit your save file to have all the bosses beaten without editing the stats for the score, the times default to "6:66". The file is actually called "Intro_DontDealWithDevil_Vocal_666", by the way. 19:50 - Not sure if these are the official names, but I wouldn't know. I wouldn't really trust the Cuphead wiki on such things. Most of those are just simple descriptions of what the enemies are.

Cuphead mugman and chalice killed the devil
I don't think so, the bad ending scene with her only plays if you unlock Chalice. I think it's just an easter egg.
Also, they can't just overwrite the story and add Chalice into it, right? I think that letting you beat the main game bosses with Chalice is just a gameplay feature.
Yeah

Some of it, yeah. But a lot of the secrets and facts are taken from the development of the initial game, and the DLC only ADDED content, instead of replacing it.
@@Shxdowboy make another one
@@theBronzeruby @fastidioufer These take time to create. I want to focus on other projects for now, so, highly unlikely.
