I bought this watch a month ago and it’s great. Yes, the bezel doesn’t have click stop but it’s designed that way for a reason. The crystal is fine and I have no issues seeing it in the sun. Let’s talk about the good things it’s an automatic so there’s no batteries to ever deal with. Setting GMT is a breeze. I really like the 4 o’clock crown location. The bracelet is very comfortable and easy to size with micro adjustments available. What’s not to like for a watch that I paid US $325 ($475 MSRP). No other GMT is any where near that price point.
The rotating bezel on the original Rolex GMT Master, along with the bezel on a Glycine Airman from which Rolex stole the idea (Sorry, boys and girls, Rolex did not invent the 24-hour watch) *did not* have a ratcheting bezel. A ratcheting bezel is appropriate for a dive watch and not necessary for a GMT watch.
I own the orange dial version and used a custom exotic stingray band with orange edge stitches. This is probably one of my favorite watches and received more compliments than my more expensive Swiss watches.
I agree on the bezel, but mine has not moved at all. It should have sapphire. But I love how it wears and is getting a lot of wrist time. Overall, love it.
I happened to have this and a Batgirl. The rolxe is smaller and scratches much easier. It's my daily wear for 14 months now. For what I paid Compared to my drawer of high-end luxury watches, I am very happy. You are right about the glass. I read in a comment that it is possible to change it.
This watch is so good, that it made me rethink my collection... I don't need 15+ watches when all I wear for the past couple of months is the Seiko 5 GMT 😊
It’s very legible although AR coating would have been nicer. But the real downside is the lack of a ratcheting bezel - I had the same problem of accidentally moving it by just brushing it against my jacket or trouser pocket.
While an orange dial would be nice, and the black one looks great and almost more expensive and sleeker than the blue. That being said the blue is probably my fav colour out of them all and I'm very happy I chose that one......if the black one was a glossy dial the rather than matte.....it'd be another question
I got myself an SSK005 (the orange Seiko 5 GMT). It pairs nicely with a couple of my outfits and the color actually makes non-watch-people ask about it. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong with it. I have cheaper watches which are more accurate and have sapphire glass, but I don't mind it on the Seiko. No issues so far. For me, it's always the bracelet that breaks after a couple of years with the crystal still looking almost pristine.
You're pretty spot on with my sentiments as well. I replaced the bracelet, even though the SSK bracelets are some of the better i have tried on early Seiko
I bought it and all of the other affordable GMTs with the NH34 movement, which wouldn't be in existence if it weren't for Seiko developing this groundbreaking movement, and I like the Seiko the best. Enough said!
Interesting: In my experience, the Hardlex crystal generally offers less annoying reflections/glare than even my sapphire-crystal-equipped 017 Alpinist (which I'm still unsure about in terms of whether Seiko bothered to apply any AR coating). Also: the amount of friction on the bezel of my 003 GMT is sufficient enough to require a *serious* twist to make it budge: I have it set to London Time (curious/confusing fact: London is actually an hour *off* GMT) in order to follow my other two fave watch channels. 😊

which color is it? Looks too blue to be black and too black to be blue (and in the last seconds at one moment it looks like the bezel is half blue and half black)
Travel watch? Casio royale has 38 plus time zones and a map. Comes with leather or metal strap. 100 metre water resistance. 10 year battery. Don't even get me started on the accuracy of the quartz movement over a mechanical movement. Or what about the a 500 wa.. even the simple LF 20w has 38 time zones and a multi display so you have one time zone on analog and one on digital. Buying this as a travel watch as the reason is like saying you need a phone but you bought a Gold rotary dial phone instead of a modern cordless phone. Something tells me it wasn't just for travel, you wanted a status symbol.
I'm pretty much in a different Time zone 2-3 times a week minimum this GmT watch is absolutely amazing. So someone who ACTUALLY travels, this watch is amazing.
What size is the dial. I bought a seiko and it looked like this. 43mm case and a 30mm dial. The dial felt tiny. Anyone know if the dial is bigger on these watches.
Why everytime i watch your short youtube videos it just get stuck at loading some point? While when i watch another videos before or after yours. No problem at all.

which color is it? Looks too blue to be black and too black to be blue (and in the last seconds at one moment it looks like the bezel is half blue and half black)
It is indeed blue and black
@@ChronometerCheck but officially they have one black and one blue model. No mkdel is called blue and black.
It's the SSK003. The dial is blue, but the bezel is half blue, half black. @@basedpatriotLT
Blue for day black for night.
You must be fun at party 😂
I'm pretty much in a different Time zone 2-3 times a week minimum this GmT watch is absolutely amazing. So someone who ACTUALLY travels, this watch is amazing.
KO bezels are definitely deal breakers. Why Seiko did not stick to a unidirectional bezel is beyond me.
Great watch, the bezel doesn’t move. I’ve worn mine days, weeks at a time. Quit your whining.
What size is the dial. I bought a seiko and it looked like this. 43mm case and a 30mm dial. The dial felt tiny. Anyone know if the dial is bigger on these watches.
I own this watch and love it 👍🏻💯
Beautiful watch though
I’d like to get clicks moaning about the cheapest in house gmt in the world 😂😂😂
Why everytime i watch your short youtube videos it just get stuck at loading some point? While when i watch another videos before or after yours. No problem at all.
Is that the original locking mechanism in the band?
Aftermarket :)
A man that has got twigs for arms
can that extra hour hand be removed or is there a version without it? cant stand how distracting it is
If sapphire crystal they would have put the cost MSRP at 600 or 700.
and it would be a rip off, because for them saphire glass cost maybe 1 or 2 bucks extra (if that) on top of hardlex cost
@@basedpatriotLT Sapphire Glass cost at least $20 at cost assuming mass production.
So around $50 retail.
I can’t see paying $250 to $300 for this watch. You can get a samurai at that price point.
is there any brand that is over 100 years old that has a mechanical GMT with sapphire at this pricepoint? don't think so.
Fair point haha
How much
Meanwhile me, who scratched his brand new flieger INSIDE A WATCHBOX !
